We were able to generate a playlist of our favorites as well as mix in the strengths of the band. They coordinated special song arrangements alongside the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra for our ceremony, which made the music feel personalized, emotional, and unforgettable. For the reception, NOLA Dukes brought unbelievable energy and talent. They played well with the crowd, mixed up the momentum, while keeping a great vibe throughout the night. ded up calling off my wedding (the wedding not the marriage.) We eloped with 7 people instead and Nola Dukes was able to set me up with an incredible jazz trio for it. They even found me a banjo player! vocals, and DJ. The string duo was beautiful and did a great job. The jazz trio was lovely and fit the vibe we were looking for with our courtyard cocktail hour and our dinner. The vocalist did a fantastic job with our first dance and father daughter dances and also MCing our toasts. The Dukes kindly provided a mic for our toasts as well.
We had some issues with our DJ (reason for 4 instead of 5 stars), but Randi did a fantastic job listening to us after the fact. From the get go, Randi was incredibly communicative with us and did a great job listening to our wants and making sure they were executed for us.

we hired them for ceremony music as well and the quartet was wonderful.
onto the negative - the reception band - the music selection.....i was extremely upset with it. i filled out the entire details page, spoke with randi about what to play, all of the things i could've done beforehand and the only thing that was played were oldies.
i specifically said i wanted upbeat, party music. what we listened to to get ready to go out as millenials, 2000-2015 type stuff (anyone who says that is oldies can go away...) i wanted to dance with my friends. but there was absolutely no party feel, no one was on the dance floor.
my wedding coordinator talked to them multiple times and absolutely nothing changed. she really tried! but they would play 1, maybe 2 good songs in a row and we would all go crazy, then they would go back to the boring music and everyone would walk off the dance floor.
i told them i wanted a band over a DJ for energy and hype and the music we got gave none.
i had the wobble on my do not play list because it's just so dang long, when the band went on their break it was on the playlist they had set up. i told our coordinator i was A. thrilled they went on a break because the playlist was giving me what i wanted, and B. happy to hear the song i specifically didn't want because at least it was the right vibe!!
it felt like getting anyone to dance with us was super hard because it wasn't dancing music.
i could've had a DJ for a heck of a lot less and gotten to dance the whole time. that was just really disappointing.

When the audio glitched for the mother/son dance they quickly jumped into action and sang the rest of the song live on the spot. We had a jazz trio for our cocktail hour- they were so fun and the perfect NOLA flair.
We had the 9-piece band for the whole dinner/reception and they were AMAZING! From our intro, to helping with speeches, to the music they chose and the ENERGY! WOW! People LOVED them. I saw so many folks during dinner just recording. Also- we had little kids there and the band was so good with them.
And here's the quote from the next day: "You know it was a good band when EVERYONE is out on the dance floor"

Randi did a great job of coordinating with us to understand music preferences and run of show to make sure everything ran smoothly and they played a mix of songs guaranteed to get folks on the dance floor. She even coordinated with us to make sure we had equipment for friends who were performing during our ceremony to use and set us up with a DJ when we decided to extend our reception an additional hour a couple of months before the wedding date. Planning and invoicing was so easy in the web portal but the human touch of talking things through over the phone really helped. Great people, great music, great experience!

From the first moment we met, Randi was so responsive, clear and asked lots of questions and was always willing to share her expertise. Finding a great band was a top priority for us and we greatly appreciated being able to see them perform live during one of their showcases in order to inform our decision. Their showcase validated everything we had heard about what incredible performers they are and the incredible range of music they can perform. The band learned an unknown song the week of the wedding to play for the mother-son dance which meant so much to my mother-in-law. In addition, Randi was meant to sing the hora- everyone was in awe and couldn't help but join in the dancing. We also had a somewhat absurd song request (Scenes from an Italian Restaurant,) and not only did they play it live, but also threw in a few other Billy Joel classics throughout the night. Truly great services, well beyond our expectations. Highly recommend to any other couples seeking the perfect band for their big day.

ce floor was PACKED the entire night. Our guests loved them and everyone had only positive things to say. We worked with Randi from start to finish and she was great to work with. The entire process from start to finish was very smooth and easy. Nola Dukes took care of our ceremony sound, played piano during the ceremony, live band, live first dance song and a live DJ at the end- all that to say, they were essential for our big day and they were incredible. For so many moving parts, NDB did a great job and made it EASY! 10/10 for Nola Dukes Band and Randi!!

We don't even know WHERE to begin in recommending Nola Dukes for the absolutely perfect reception. Everyone raved about how incredible they were, and they kept the dance floor full...
the entire night. And on top of that, Randi was a dream to work with...so helpful and responsive (which is so appreciated for a neurotic bride like me!) Just book them and you'll thank me later.

have Randi with us to perform our ceremony sound, emcee, and be our lead singer for the reception. Not only is she a lovely person and talented singer, she is also so wonderful to work with. After reviewing what kind of music we liked, she suggested bringing in a DJ at no extra cost for the last hour -- we were able to get the best of both worlds by having all types of music for our reception! The dance floor was packed the entire night. Additionally, their internal dashboard / planning tools are easy to use to stay organized. We absolutely loved this band and we definitely recommend Nola Dukes for any and all occasions for fantastic energy, high quality professionalism and amazing talent!
