Non-Traditional Wedding DJs

nd effective at communicating - something you rarely find with anyone in music or DJ's. His system process is so well thought out and he answers questions, has detailed meetings and assures you feel good and feel prepared every step of the way. Not only was Ben super organized and professional but he was an AMAZING DJ and MC the night of our wedding. We had a ton of custom requests and song customizations and Ben made every single one happen on time, at the right time and exactly as requested. He played our playlist but made it BETTER with remixes, DJ accents and playing songs at what felt like exactly the right time. He also brought the uplights, club lights, disco ball and his own table set-up making the space feel even more elevated and fun and made set-up simple. He also integrated without question with our live saxophone player for the reception and paired it perfectly with his music to make for a really amazing music entertainment segment for our wedding. He had the microphones properly set-up for our ceremony on a moving stand and a handheld microphone for speeches, we never had one audio or tech issue and everything was handled perfectly sound wise from Ben. We can't thank him enough for making our New Year's Eve 2025 wedding dream a reality. I cannot recommend Ben more, if you want a DJ then Non Traditional Wedding DJ's is the ONLY WAY to go.

ived multiple compliments saying that Johnathan was the one of the best DJs they’ve seen/heard at a wedding!! It was a tricky mix with our vastly different cultures/music, but his transitions were so effortlessly smooth and everyone was on the dance floor nonstop! Similarly, the photo booth was also set up in no time and in the most perfect location for our venue/guests. I also really appreciated that the team made sure my husband and I got our own pictures, since we were so busy dancing that we almost forgot to take our own! We even ended up having a larger-than-expected turnout at our after-party, since our guests were so sad that the party was ending at midnight and wanted to keep the fun going. Truly thank you so, so much to the team, this far exceeded our expectations and made our night such a memorable experience. We had a wonderful time and are so happy we went with this team for our DJ & photo booth! I would 1000% recommend them!

lub bangers. Ben and his team were great to work with, responding quickly and proactively reaching out to confirm timelines. In addition to playing music, our DJ, Ray, also played the keyboard for the ceremony, providing a soft ambiance before and playing the processional music of our choice. For the dancing portion of the night, there was never a dull moment, without resorting to the cha-cha slide. We had a few must play songs, like Hot to Go and Kiss, and they were seamlessly added during the night. From consultation to the event, both Ben and Ray were very receptive to any requests to make sure that our vision for the music was accomplished. The value, options, and professionalism that Non-Traditional Wedding DJs provides made them an excellent and memorable addition to our wedding.

DJing/MCing our wedding. We had some unexpected rain right before our ceremony, but Rafe rolled with the punches and handled everything seamlessly and kept the party going through our afterparty until late at night. Would highly recommend!

esponse from the team was everything to us. They are just so kind, caring, and hopeful for everyone’s happiest moments.

ng our love of pop and Latin hits. Matt even coordinated a playlist with a surprise performance from our drag queens, and it was brilliant. Our friends and family cannot stop talking about how that was the best dance party they've ever been to at a wedding. There are too many moments to list, but it was a wonderful night, we're so glad Matt was a part of our wedding reception. He felt out the vibe of the party and kept the dance floor packed all night by playing music that people really enjoyed -- never getting bogged down by slow songs or cheesy wedding dances. Thank you for bringing the energy and making our day a true celebration of love. And for making it, so our family had to be dragged off the dance floor.

ly sent us a list of his favorite spots, and we ended up choosing the one he recommended most. It set the stage for the best day ever. Though Ben wasn’t available for our date, we were incredibly lucky to work with Xenia. She truly got our vibe, using our music preferences as a starting point but adding so many other fun songs that kept the dance floor packed all night. So many guests told us she was the best wedding DJ they had experienced, and we agree!! We also added the photo booth, which was a huge hit. The team running it was lovely as well. We're so grateful to the whole Non-Traditional Wedding DJs team for making our celebration unforgettable and highly recommend them to others.

vendor. We loved that Ben put music first and kept announcements minimal. He was incredibly was to work with, understood the style we wanted, and very communicative throughout the whole process. We knew it was the perfect fit when every other vendor of ours spoke his praise, however, that could not do justice to the epic dance party that followed. There was dancing all night with guests still talking about how incredible the music was. Everyone from parents friends from out of town to our young friends in Brooklyn had a blast. Thank you Ben! You truly made our night.

ly mixing different genres and eras of music for our diverse set of guests, as well as incorporating foreign-language music to honor our mixed culture celebration. In the planning phase, Ben and then Rafe were organized and responsive and provided helpful planning resources. Rafe was collaborative and gave great recommendations to craft our perfect playlist. All of our guests had a wonderful time on the dance floor thanks to Rafe!

th all of our last-minute requests. The guests had a blast and she did a great job adapting the music to suit the vibe for the night!

the entire wedding extremely easy with a detailed worksheet. We were also able to add in some Spotify playlists we made with song suggestions. Ben understood our musical tastes very quickly and played banger after banger during the dance portion of our wedding. The music flowed very smoothly/no awkward transitions, and none of the songs felt cut off too quickly. We had so much fun, and multiple guests told us they loved the music selections! We also especially appreciated his seamless integration of a cultural song for some of our older family members into the beginning of the dance portion of the wedding, as well as his ability to cut the song for our processional with the exact parts that we wanted. Thank you so much Ben!

I want to play it again. The whole process was smooth, we're recommending him to all our friends, and who knows - maybe we'll have him play at our anniversary

et the tone for such a fun, memorable evening. Even when we threw in some last-minute surprises, he handled it effortlessly and made it even more fun for everyone. Our guests had an amazing time, and so did we. Truly couldn’t have imagined a better vibe — so grateful Ben was part of our special day!

fic music tastes, and we really wanted the dance floor to be filled with new wave classics, other 80s gems, soul, disco, and some other stuff thrown in. Ben gave us great guidance on how to nail the dance floor, like when to go obscure and when to go more well known. From the start, Ben made it clear that he cares most about the dance floor. His company opts for minimal announcements, and for the prelude music, cocktail hour, and dinner, we made playlists that he shuffled. This was all great by us. And before we get into our watchouts, let me just say that Ben absolutely crushed the dance floor. It was going all night. Almost everyone came up to us afterwards to compliment us on the music choices and the floor itself. Ben pulled from our playlist and through in some songs that matched the vibe, and it was spectacular. One of my big concerns was that I read Ben’s company cuts songs off early; we really didn’t want this to feel like a medley of songs, and I need to say that Ben did a phenomenal job letting songs breathe and making sure everything flowed perfectly. However, there were two big things that happened that we need to call out. The first one was that Ben played a demo version of our aisle walkdown song instead of the version we wanted. It was a pretty big bummer. We had a big prelude playlist that culminated in this song, and when the demo version started, we had a mini heart attack. We told our coordinator that it was the wrong version, but instead of finding the album version, Ben played the demo again. We’re not sure who’s responsibility it was to make sure it was the right version of the song – whether it was ours, Ben’s, or our coordinators – but we hoped the DJ would be confirming the correct version for such a big moment. The other problem we had was that during a friend’s speech, Ben called our friend my wife’s name three separate times. If you’re going with Ben, know that you’ll have an amazing dance floor and a DJ that puts his all into the music. But I’d just be on top of everything, and triple check the details to make sure it’s exactly what you want.

reat job incorporating our music taste into the mix, and our friends and family praised the music a ton. Working with Ben was fantastic as he also connected us with a keyboardist for the ceremony as well as a saxophone player to play alongside the DJ at the reception. He made the entire experience easy.

nd also did all the tech set up for our event. Additionally, no song request was too strange - including Defying Gravity, which truly brought down the house. My guests were coming up to me saying that they really enjoyed the music and felt it created the perfect winter mood, especially during dinner! All in all, I'd 100% recommend Nico + Non-Traditional Wedding DJs!

ceremony, and dance floor. He made all of our guest feel comfortable on the dance floor and helped us have the party we wanted. We also used them for the hosted photo booth which was a guest favorite and made for great pictures of the night

ylists to heart. He made every part of the planning process easy and straightforward, and always had good advice and input when needed. Not only did Ben seamlessly integrate our favorite songs, but also added his own amazing selections that matched the vibe perfectly. Every transition felt effortless, and Ben somehow knew exactly what would keep the dance floor full. Our guests raved about the music all night! If you’re looking for a DJ who’s kind, intuitive, talented, and genuinely dedicated to making your event unforgettable, we highly recommend Ben and his team. It is very clear how much they care about what they do! Thank you for making our wedding so memorable!

to end. Rafe really took the time to get to know our music taste and what our expectations for the night were, and he delivered. If you want your guests talking all night about how great the music is, definitely consider Rafe with Non-traditional Wedding DJs!

Our DJ, Thando, truly set the vibe for our wedding day, effortlessly reading the room and keeping the energy high all night. He nailed every genre we wanted, transitioning seamlessly through each one, and came fully prepared with a polished setup for each part of the day. Thando DJ'ed the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception to perfection. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable, talented, and vibe-savvy DJ team!

lpful and easy to work with. On the day of, Rafe did such an amazing job with the music, from cocktail hour all the way through to dancing, the music was exactly what we had been looking for and more. We had so many guests comment on how great the DJ was and how they never wanted to leave dance floor. Would highly recommend Rafe and Non-Traditional Wedding DJs

ess off our plates. As for our actual DJ, Rafe Terrizzi, we can't say enough glowing remarks about him! He was kind, knowledgable, and super friendly while creating our music timeline for our wedding day. Once the day came, he did an incredible job of keeping our guests engaged and having fun all the way from the ceremony to the end of the reception. We loved his announcing style and his music taste so much!! Truly, we couldn’t have asked for a better DJ.

ed and made sure both the ceremony and reception had fantastic music. We cannot recommend non-traditional wedding DJs enough and especially Flavya who helped mix a special first dance song for us and planned out our playlists beautifully throughout the night. We received so much feedback about how awesome our reception was and how the music created a celebratory atmosphere all night. We also rented lights from Ben. This was a huge addition to creating the party atmosphere and highly recommend for adding ambiance a reception.

or the best night of our life - that’s when we found non traditional DJs and Ben! He suggested Thando to DJ our wedding, and he was fantastic. We decided to not have an MC, because we didn’t need the extra hype/someone screaming into a mic all night. We really wanted the music to guide the night. And that is exactly what Thando did for us! The calls and paperwork @ntweddingdjs puts together before the big day makes it super easy to pinpoint the flow of the day and what we like. They even have Spotify playlists you can choose from which is super cool. The ceremony into the reception was exactly what we wanted. Overall we are very happy we made it either decided to book with @ntweddings and would recommend to anyone that wants the music to dictate the flow of the night.

from volume and type of music to what announcements she could make throughout the event. On the wedding day, everything went so smoothly and she played such amazing music! The dance floor was packed all night. The main comment we have gotten from friends and family after the wedding is how good the music was. Notably, Flavya can accommodate a wide range of genres, as we started the night with 70s and 80s dance music and ended with rap. She can truly accommodate any taste and play what YOU want to hear.

, contemporary queer anthems, and classic disco beats for a night that felt so personal and uniquely us! His sets brought our friends and our parents together on the dance floor, and our guests keep telling us that they could have danced all night long and that it was banger after banger. We even had a non-traditional ceremony with choreographed musical cues, and Ben brought our dreams to reality. From the jump, Ben was super easy to work with: a kind and clear communicator who let us do as much or as little work as we wanted to. Not only that, he was really flexible on the actual wedding day, when adjustments were made during rehearsal. If you're a nerd who loves anime and want to have a weeb wedding or just something slightly off the beaten path, DJ Ben is a must on your team!

easy to chat with, and my husband and I had the best time geeking out over music with him. He was always super quick to respond when we had a question. And most importantly- the dance floor was packed all night long! Guests of all ages loved his music picks, and many of our guests said he was the best wedding DJ they’d ever experienced. I think so many people are used to cheesy, schmaltzy DJs who don’t really tune into the crowd- Ben is the opposite. He knows how to catch the vibe and keep the party moving and grooving all night long. If you’re looking for a DJ with no ego, who is a kind human and a joy to work with, who will keep people dancing all night long- look no further than Ben. He is your guy.

he "hype"? Nope. All he knows is the encyclopedia of music and the science of how it moves every specific group of people party on the dancefloor. What a great time.

exactly what we wanted all night, from the ceremony to the last song on the dance floor. The dance floor was completely packed all night, and so many of our guests told us it was the best DJ they had ever heard at a wedding. Highly, highly recommend!

organized in sending us a detailed worksheet to fill out and reminder emails. We actually spent several months filling out the worksheet and curating an inspiration playlist, which Rafe/Ben definitely appreciated (and plan to feature!), to ensure we got the vibe just right. Rafe is super kind and professional – he was on-point with the music–cocktail (R&B), dinner (millennial pop), dance (2000/10s college party) and got our crowd DANCING ALL NIGHT!! He also emceed our speeches and did such a nice job of gently getting attention without feeling like an announcer.

sic (horns, bongos) into the music for the night and the collaboration worked seamlessly! His worksheet and the spotify playlists he has available are very helpful in communicating your preferences. If you ask anyone who was at our wedding the music is always what they bring up, our guests had a blast. Thank you Ben for making our day absolutely incredible!

break down when songs were played. It was so magical to hear our favorite songs throughout cocktail hour, first dances, and of course when everyone hit the dance floor. He had everyone dancing the whole time, even when broken glass causes the temporary move of the dance floor. LGBTQ+ inclusive - and we really mean that. All language was exactly what our preference was and artists and songs reflected our values. Would recommend again and again!

(Eastern European pop and traditional folk, American everything else). We made a list of our favorites and must-haves and also drew from the Non-Traditional Wedding DJs Spotify playlists. Ben and our DJ, DJ Xenia, were super helpful with the prep work and answering our questions before the big night. DJ Xenia exceeded our expectations. Besides being very professional, she seamlessly transitioned between genres and threw in some of her own on-theme selections to mix it up. The music led to wonderful moments on the dance floor and our guests complimented the music during the night and afterwards. The best part was hearing friends say, "The music is SO YOU." Go with Non-Traditional Wedding DJs, you won't have to stress about a major component of your wedding and everyone will have an amazing time!

I would recommend him to anyone looking for someone who will be excited about their music, but will be a bit more subtle with announcements throughout the event. Ben was perfect.

ve and have a great time. He was very responsive and organized throughout the entire process - you know that you have a professional with you the way he listens to your vision and requests. He even communicated with family members to incorporate an auditive surprise and played our own recording for the first dance. When we wanted to turn up the volume he gladly did! Highly recommend!

much care to understand what we wanted and provide suggestions and advice. We had some must-plays, don't plays, and general vibe suggestions and he absolutely nailed it.

Our biggest takeaway leading up to our event was he clearly cared about making our day special. He was very responsive leading up to the event answering any questions and addressing any concerns we had leading up to the day. Ben was organized and great at taking any directions we gave him. He utilized songs from the playlists we provided, respected our do not play playlist, and our instructions to not take request from guests. The song selections and transitions were good throughout the night. During the event and the following day, we received several complements from our guests on the music and vibe he helped cultivate. We would recommend Non-Traditional Wedding DJs to anyone looking for a DJ for their wedding.

ce floor. Thanks Ben for helping make our wedding a wonderful experience!

took that to heart from the very beginning. We shared our vision for the musical vibe & arch of our wedding day and Ben really delivered. Through a couple well-timed prep conversations, a thoughtful pre-wedding form, and some Spotify playlists we shared back & forth, he seamlessly incorporated our ideas and track selections (even the deeper cuts) throughout the day – from arrival, to the ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception dinner & dancing. Dance floor was buzzing until the very last song. We and our guests absolutely loved it. Highly recommend. Thanks Ben!

erfect fit for our wedding. In our initial meeting, Ben asked, "Do you want a talkative DJ/MC?" Before we could answer, he assured us, "I am not that guy," which was exactly what we wanted to hear. His approach to letting the music create the mood was ideal for us. When it came to planning the music, Ben was very collaborative. He provided a music worksheet and took the time to understand the type of ambiance we wanted for each part of the event—cocktail hour, dinner, and the dance party. His dedication to getting every detail right was impressive. On the day of our wedding, Ben's expertise was evident. He delivered a fantastic music selection that kept our guests entertained and dancing all night. Many of our guests commented on how much fun they had and even said it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended. Ben's professionalism and genuine personality made the whole experience even better. We are incredibly happy with how everything turned out and highly recommend Ben to anyone looking for a DJ who can make their event special.

ets, and we got great reviews from our guests at the end of the night. People spent the whole night dancing, and his presentation was exactly what we wanted.

re perfectly--you couldn't ask for a better DJ to work with.

ed (one for immediate post-ceremony, our first dance, and our final two songs). Flavya curated the rest of the music that perfectly fit the vibe we wanted for each portion of the celebration. She also coordinated the sound for the ceremony and toasts perfectly. There were a few times when we had to request some quick adjustments (lighting, moving the toast set up, etc.) and Flavya handled those perfectly. The process for working with Non-Traditional DJs is easy enough and very clear. They have a wealth of Spotify playlists that helped refine our thinking/requests before our final pre-wedding conversation.
