About this vendor
Noriega House is a historic wedding venue situated in Bakersfield, CA. Tucked away in the city suburbs, this iconic estate boasts a romantic serenity removed from the nearby Downtown hubbub. Enchanting soon-to-be newlyweds for generations, this renovated Queen Anne Cottage-style property has a myriad of delightful event spaces evocative of bygone times. Featuring nostalgic decor and eclectic mix of styles, its enduring charm is sure to impress you and your loved ones. Their seasoned staff is committed to maintaining this estate’s tradition of first-class hospitality while realizing your dream wedding.
This esteemed property has enjoyed a rich and varied history. Constructed in 1900, successful businessman and namesake Faustino Noriega made this majestic estate his family home. By this time, he had already opened the nearby Noriega Hotel, a place that established their trademark customer care. Descendents of the Faustino family lovingly tended to the estate until 1996, when the property was sold and the revamps began. This 2-year project gave the house and garden a makeover, adding modern comforts while retaining its architectural heritage. Today, the estate holds the proud status of being one of the most sought-after event venues in Bakersfield.
Defined by its enticing blend of old-world and contemporary mod cons, this bastion of Californian glamour can host your entire day. Upon arrival, you will be struck by its stately facade; an inviting portico entrance greets you and the pristine hedgerow adds to the curb appeal. The interior is replete with vintage period pieces and refined special touches, such as French-draped windows and glistening chandeliers. Intimate al-fresco ceremonies can be held in the picturesque Noriega Garden, a tranquil setting that features a photogenic gazebo and an outdoor dance floor. Should you choose to exchange your vows inside, their quaint Chapel can set the scene for an intimate ceremony. You can top off your day with a stylish soiree in the Queen Anne Room, a warm and welcoming reception room with a roaring fireplace.
Noriega House has a variety of facilities and services tailored to your satisfaction. Able to comfortably host up to 300 attendees, this stellar venue boasts 4,400 square feet of flexible event space. You can enjoy a scenic ceremony in the Garden before reveling in an unforgettable reception in the warmth of the house. The Noriega Lounge and Bride’s Parlour can also be used for your celebration. An experienced Wedding Day Coordinator will be provided to ensure your special day goes smoothly, and their staff will be ready to assist you with any query. Their bar team aims to keep the champagne flowing, and on-site catering options are also available. From saying ‘I do’ to the departure of your getaway car, this estate is an ideal setting for a timeless occasion.

I cannot express enough how absolutely perfect this venue was for our family wedding. From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of extraordinary, and much of that is t...
hanks to Michelle and the incredible Noriega Staff.
From our very first meeting, Michelle was a true gem. Her attention to detail and commitment to making our vision a reality was evident every step of the way. She played an instrumental role in creating a very detailed and intimate sunset wedding that we and our guests will cherish forever.
The atmosphere was set beautifully, with an amazing violinist providing enchanting music that added a touch of elegance to the ceremony. The DJ kept the energy high and the dance floor lively throughout the evening, making for unforgettable memories.
The cocktail hour was delightful, and the dinner was simply delicious, surpassing our expectations. The flow of the evening was seamless, thanks to Michelle's expert coordination, ensuring everything went off without a hitch.
The decor was exquisite, capturing the essence of our theme and adding to the overall ambiance. Every element came together perfectly, creating a magical experience for everyone in attendance.
We are beyond satisfied and deeply grateful to Michelle and the Noriega Staff for their hard work and dedication. Thank you for making our wedding not just an event, but an unforgettable evening that we will always hold dear. Highly recommended!
Please listen to the negative reviews for this place as they all came true. My fiance and I decided to tour this venue despite all of the negative things we heard about this manage...
ment. When we toured it, Michelle sold us on this beautiful venue. Once she took our deposit, it went downhill from there. Online says she has to send over the contract within 2 weeks. 6 months went by and she never would send it, despite both myself and my fiance texting/emailing her. She basically ghosted us so we could not even start wedding planning because we did not know what was included and what wasn't. Eventually I started to book florist and other venders because she was unresponsive. When we finally met for our in person appointment, she was rude when we told her we booked other venders that were not hers. We had no choice but to start booking people because we had no idea what was included as she did not send over the contract and would not give us any information. At the appointment she said she would senf the contract that week, but of course months went buy and she still never sent it. We finally had enough and told Michelle we would like to go to another venue and she said "Our wedding is basically already all planned" which is a flat lie because we have had little contact with her. Please save yourself the headchache and do not book here. We also heard from a wedding planner that Michelle waters down all of the alcohol but of course Michelle failed to tell us that she does that with her bar.
I was supposed to get married here in November and I'm so thankful I didn't. Michelle is dishonest and rude. This place knows what it is doing. It says multiple times in the contra...
ct no refunds so when they ghost you and you cancel they don't have to pay you! As soon as we sent over our deposit Michelle stopped responding to me. She told us she would give us vendor information and quotes for flowers however 5 months before the wedding we had zero information! When I tried to text her it would be weeks later with a response, if we even got one. Finally I told her because of the lack of communication and follow through we wouldn't have our wedding there and magically she text back immediately with a story about a family emergency and asking for grace. I completely understand emergencies but why couldn't she say that over the months I was trying to get information? I asked her not for the deposit back but for the $2000 we paid towards our bill because she failed to uphold her part in the contract and refused and said the things she said was not written down anywhere so I have no proof. She is correct. She told me verbally what she was willing to do for us. Now I realize it was just to get our deposit and she had no Intention of doing what she promised! I read the negative reviews and still tried this place out and that was my mistake! DO NOT HAVE YOUR EVENTS HERE! I would highly recommend Casa Merced Venue if you are looking for honestly, communication and professional people willing to bend over backwards for your event!
This would have been our top choice for our venue if they were more organized. Very cute place but the way their payments work is kind of weird. Any payments you make are non refun...
dable. I understand deposits being non refundable but here any payment you make before your wedding day is non refundable. It was also hard to get information out of them and it felt like we had to follow up multiple times to get answers to our questions. We showed up for our scheduled tour and no one was answering the door or their phones. We ended up wandering around the property for a good 20 minutes before we went back and rang the doorbell one more time, and finally someone came out to greet us, somehow they didn’t know we were coming and also didn’t hear us ringing the doorbell nonstop. This place would be great with some better management and better policies.
When we booked over a year ago (June 2019) for our October 2020 wedding, we loved the venue! First red flag was that even though we had an appointment, Michelle showed up and did n...
ot have a price pamphlet for us so I was not able to see what we were getting. After it was emailed to us, we ended up booking. The original contract we signed was only 2 paragraphs long and there was nothing in there about refunds or all payments being nonrefundable.
Communication with her was absolutely horrible. After we put our deposit down, it would take 2-4 weeks to get a response for any questions we had. We paid the first payment (1/2 of total cost). COVID hit and I started to ask questions in June about what would happen with our wedding. I asked about refunds if we canceled due to uncertainty. 3 days later, I get an email of a new contract that has an additional 4 pages of fine print (not in the original 2 paragraph contract we signed) and a few hours later a response saying they don’t give refunds and it says it in the contract. I asked where it said that in the contract and sent back a copy of the one we signed and she told me that it is said in person while touring the venue!!! Ummm, what?? That’s NOT a contract!! When I started questioning about money, the responses were almost instant which is weird compared to always having to wait at least 2 weeks to hear back from anyone. I refused to sign the new contract and they refused to give us our money back! We lost $3,200 because they were not smart enough to cover their butts in their contract. I understand COVID hot everyone hard, but have some compassion for the people you are working with. Not only are they losing money with you, but they are losing money with other vendors as well.
We ended up having our wedding somewhere else and it cost MUCH less than what we were going to pay here anyway.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!
