The vest and bell is so that Violet knows, she's in HER work uniform and so it's time to go to work. I use a GPS collar to map the areas searched by Violet. When Violet is on rodent scent, on the GPS unit, a high concentration of activity will show. The GPS tracking shows you too that the area has been thoroughly searched.
