North Country Flowers

I can't believe no one has reviewed in three years! I did a Google search and that's how I found Mary Ann, went to three other local florists, and no one treated us as professionally, no one was as personable, and no one had the clear talent and ability to put together my ideas into what would become my bouquet and other flowers for our wedding day, than Mary Ann. I phoned her first in January, then sent her lots of photos for ideas. Our first meeting with her was met with a "Congratulations!" and glasses of champagne all around, and then she proceeded to show us what she thought she could put together for us. She explained very clearly what we should be considering for who should have flowers, and what she thought would look nice with our navy blue and white colors. We left that meet with a beautiful bouquet she had put together for us - what a gift! No other florists did that for us, and no one was so welcoming. As the pandemic threatened to cancel our special day, Mary Ann was *VERY* encouraging and supportive - such a blessing. As the tides were ever-changing, and we were actually able to have our ceremony and very small reception (yay!!), Mary Ann was there with her daughter to decorate the arch with the silk flowers we supplied, the rose petals, and to bring us personally, the bouquets and boutonnieres. I wish I could post a photo, because I still can't believe how beautiful everything was. Our day went off without a hitch in large part because of Mary Ann - I cannot recommend her enough! She is so talented, optimistic, encouraging, and REAL. We would give her 10 stars if we could. Just excellent!

Mary Ann is truly a special human. She was our florist and also provided day-of coordinator services for us since we did not have a wedding planner. We are truly fortunate we made the decision to include her that much more in our wedding. Her floral work was stunning and she created exactly what we were hoping for (plus she was so welcoming and happy to have us for an initial visit). She knows her flowers well and has a gift for putting it all together. Her coordinator/day-of services were outstanding. She was in touch with us in the months leading up, was in contact with all our vendors and the venue, and even helped coordinate our rehearsal the evening before. She worked extremely hard the day-of and it certainly showed—our wedding day couldn't have been more special. And Mary Ann is a big reason for why everything went so smoothly and was a dream come true.

The short version: Mary Ann was simply amazing and easy to work with. I would recommend her highly to any brides in the capital district! The long version: I planned my wedding long distance from Georgia to the Adirondacks. In fact, I had never met Mary Ann before our wedding day on October 22nd! She was very communicative and easy to reach. She answered any and all questions we had, stuck to our budget and really ran with the vision we had for our wedding flowers. With me being from the north and my husband being from the south, we wanted to find a way to combine the two. The end result was simply fantastic, and we have had nonstop compliments on our floral arrangements since our wedding day. Mary Ann took our ideas and created the most unique bouquets and centerpieces combining local Adirondack flora such as cedar boughs, balsam fir and pine cones and combined them with cotton bolls and beautiful flowers. Everything was stunning and very affordable. Mary Ann did a "floral tasting” ahead of time which was a sort of dry run so we could make any changes to our arrangements before the big day. She was able to do this from afar, taking pictures and emailing them to me about two months ahead of our wedding. On top of all this, Mary Ann is just plain pleasant to work with. She’s very positive and professional which made her easy to trust. She delivered all of the arrangements and set up our centerpieces for a reasonable price, and we were extremely pleased with the final result. I really can’t recommend Mary Ann enough!

I have nothing but good things to say about North Country Flowers. Mary Ann worked within our budget, providing BEAUTIFUL flowers that were exactly what we were looking for - without us even knowing exactly what we wanted. She's professional, thoughtful, flexible, and open to ideas and changes. The flowers were GORGEOUS. This woman knows EXACTLY what she's doing! We also had Mary Ann do day-of coordination for us. Honestly, the wedding wouldn't have happened without her. I don't even know half the things she did - which is exactly how it should be. She dealt with any problems so I didn't have to. She was a dream. All in all, we are unbelievably happy with our decision to hire Mary Ann. We couldn't recommend her more highly.

Our wedding was on Mother's Day weekend which is of course an extremely busy time for florists. Several of the florists that I contacted seemed uninterested in doing our wedding because of the timing and would only do so if they increased their prices. When I called Mary Ann (the owner of North Country) she was thrilled to do it. She even worked with us some on the price so that we could afford it. She did all of the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres. She also did some flowers for the ceremony site. All of which turned out beautifully. Mary Ann finishes all of the bouquets the day before so that you can look at them to make sure they're what you wanted. Unfortunately, being from out of town, we were unable to do this so she sent me pictures. The roses in the bouquets were much more opened than I'd hoped for so I let Mary Ann know that but said that they would be fine as is. She re-did them all to my liking the next morning even though she was so busy. I was much happier with them and so appreciative. She was great to work with! She even dropped our flowers off at two different places so someone didn't have to run them to the guys, etc. and set-up the flowers at the ceremony site. I would definitely recommend North Country Flowers.
