About this vendor
A Northern Michigan native and current resident of the Traverse City/Cadillac area, I have been blessed to work with and marry couples since graduating Seminary and getting ordained in 2012, and as a business since 2014. Over the years I have been blessed to work with families in many different settings and scenarios. From very young couples to middle aged with kids to seniors with grandchildren in the service and on occasion three couples at once. The places have ranged from Church sanctuaries to barns to parks to backyards to hospitals to living rooms to lakeside. Everyone has been unique and every one has been in its own way a blessing as each couple starts declares their love before God and their loved ones in front of audiences from a handful to hundreds.

and had so many different options of wedding verses we could pick from. The process was simple, and Ben was more than happy to meet with us multiple times to nail things down. He drove down from Traverse City to have dinner with us, and even offered us to come up there (which of course we did!) and have dinner with him closer to the wedding to tie up loose ends. Aside from him officiating our wedding, he helped us DJ and that was above and beyond. Not only was Ben a tremendous savior for our big day, he’s become a great friend who I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone in my industry (I manage a bakery)!

He was receptive to what we wanted from the event and quickly in tune with why we were doing it, spent time getting to know us ahead of time via a phone call and an in-person meeting, and then put a lot of time into writing up a vow renewal service just for us based on a variant of the Episcopal vows we'd said at our original wedding. All of the above would have earned him a 5-star review -- but then, the day before our planned outdoor event, the weather forecast made it clear it was going to be a disaster, and Rev. Ben rearranged his entire work day schedule to allow us to slip a day into the work week, and made an extra trip to Grayling to officiate for us. He made our vow renewal the incredible, emotional experience we had dreamed of it being, and we can't recommend him highly enough.

ed ill prepared for our day. He arrived to the ceremony just five minutes before starting time, with a wrinkled and ripped garment. We had a rehearsal, and I corrected Ben multiple times on how to pronounce my name. During the wedding ceremony he STILL said my name wrong. Multiple people mentioned this to me later. During rehearsal we also discussed that we were going to have my brothers girlfriend read the Bible passage during the ceremony. This was super important to me, but he forgot, and just read it himself. I was extremely disappointed by this. In addition to the above, my Mom invited him and his wife to the reception, the night of the rehearsal. However, he brought his kids to the wedding as well. Our wedding was an Adult Only, Formal Affair.
