Northern Lights and Music

I'm Aaron from Northern Lights and Music, a lifelong musician and industry veteran, an educator, avid audiophile, and the founder of Northern Lights and Music. After over a decade of managing venues and curating events, I transitioned to DJing (and teaching middle school!) in 2022, and I absolutely love it. I've culminated a wide set of skills as a collaborator, and I'd love to hear about your vision for the big day. I'm reliable, well-resourced, and easy to work with. I make time for multiple touch points with my clients, and I'm open to all levels of input. I've curated events in churches, museums, on farms, in theaters, public parks, block parties, backyards, and more. My experience in event production has made me a seasoned navigator of day-of-variables, and it's given me a good eye. I ask questions and see opportunities that not all couples or DJs think of. I do not typically over-engage on the microphone, and I am not a skilled turntable-ist (vinyl/scratching DJ). If you want a high-energy club-style DJ, I may not be your guy. Instead, I am a professionally polished, emotionally intelligent DJ with a big music library that can read just about any room, has exceptional event experience, and arrives service-forward for you and your family. I'm a graduate of several Slam Academy classes, including Sound Design, DJ Technics, Vocal Production, and more. I'm also a middle school teacher in Oakland, CA: I teach sixth grade! I love being a part of the next generation's path forward. It keeps me humble ;) During the school year, I typically only take weddings on Saturdays. Feel free to ask about events on Fridays or Sundays during the school year even if my calendar shows unavailable (I will see what I can do.) And lastly, I've been married for sixteen years myself, and I absolutely adored my entire wedding day. Full disclosure: I still cry a lot at special moments.
