The best DJ ever! Northern Lights Sound, Light and Video does all of the proms in the Twin Cities. They are very professional, responsive, and made my daughter's wedding unforgettable. Their equipment, and lights are top notch. You can go to their studio and see a preview of their lighting, equipment, and services. Definately a very experienced entertainment company, with dj's that are extremely good at reading the crowd and keeping them engaged! Our DJ "Shooter" was the best - he had 200 guests dancing all night long - no one wanted to leave, and we've been getting texts for days after saying it was the funnest wedding they have ever attended. I highly recommend them! Great value great prices!! And great personalities!!!

Great service from planning to execution! Jeff from Northern Lights did an AMAZING as Emcee/DJ at my son's wedding on Dec. 11, 2021. Jeff improvised when the bridesmaids' walk had not finished but the song did... because of his quick thinking and attentiveness NO ONE had noticed that the song had ended. He acted quickly to changes that occurred during the event and he kept us on agenda by chasing us down to get ready for the Grand March. I was very pleased with Jeff's service and the overall planning services from Rick. I'm so glad we choose to go with Northern Lights DJ. We'll definitely use their service again. Thank you so much Jeff and Rick!

Northern Lights it the only way to go when picking a dj in our state! We met with the owner Rick at his studio so we could experience his setup and we were hooked, lined, and sinker as soon as we stepped in. It felt like we where at a concert with the music and lights and screens the videos where playing on, smoke machine and all. Rick is the nicest guy and took us through how is DJs work and the equipment they use so we would know what we were getting. Our Dj Ended up being Jeff and came up to our wedding in Brainerd, Mn at Cragun's Resort and was setup and ready to roll once cocktail hour started on the sundeck, He had Bluetooth speakers for the deck to keep the vibe going and the inside lit up with up lighting of our wedding colors sage green and cream which gave the dance floor the best ambiance. The music was awesome for our different types of crowds and I don't think there was a moment our dance floor wasn't packed. My guest told me how much fun they had dancing all night and listening to the music-JEFF you absolutely killed it. He even stayed until 1 o'clock am instead 12:30am for last dance before packing everything up. I cant thank Northern Lights owner Rick for being so awesome with us and Jeff for giving us the best wedding ever. If you are looking for a dj for your party event...it doesn't start until Northern Lights Shows up!! Thank you again sooo much you guys! Best Night of our Lives- Scott and Kelly Rivers

We loved Chris and how great he was for our wedding. He communicated with us all night to make sure things were how we wanted them to be. He played terrific music. He used the list of songs we wanted and added great songs and mixes as well. We greatly appreciated how well he communicated with us throughout the whole reception. Do not hesitate to hire these guys! They really do everything to make it YOUR day and how you want it!

We were so incredibly pleased with Northern Lights for our daughter's wedding! They were flawless from the ceremony to the speeches to the dance! Chris was a true professional and it made it so fun for the guests. The sound quality was top notch and Chris even added some lighting effects at the ceremony "just because!" You hope you choose the right vendors - and with Northern Lights, we know that we made the right decision. Thank you guys so much! They helped to make our daughter's wedding the BEST DAY EVER!

Chris did an AMAZING job at our wedding! Our guest said nothing but spectacular things about the music and the party! He kept the party going and knew how to read the crowd. It says something when we had over 80 people there at the end of the night to pay him more to keep playing. My favorite thing about planning was the presentation Rick gave us before we made the investment. We knew exactly what to expect and trusted them to give our guests a great night! They were very professional, reasonably priced, and gave ONE HELL OF A SHOW!

Best. Dance. EVER. I contacted Northern Lights 3 weeks before the wedding (we were going to DIY the music--and I am sooo glad we didn't). I filled out the online availability form and Rick called within minutes to chat about his business. When he says they are professional, they mean it! From the lights, sound and music to the forms you fill out pre-wedding to prep the DJ for the events, no detail is left out. Our DJ had the dance floor packed for the whole night! And all at a reasonable price. Thank you!!!

Having been a former wedding photographer I attended hundreds of weddings, so when it came my turn to be the bride I knew what I wanted and what to avoid. Because I had witnessed your company in action choosing your company was easy, but what I didn’t know was how much you would help us, communicate with us, and honestly become part of our lives. Its one thing to feel like you “get what you paid for” but we feel we received a gift we cannot repay. I cannot recommend any group of people or any company more than yours. I would be honored to share our experience with anyone who would like to call us. I feel it’s the least I could do to help others have the treasure we do; and to make sure they avoid those who prey on the emotions and budgets of others when they get married. We really enjoyed working with the owner when we booked everything. He was very professional and straightforward. Unfortunately the DJ sent who was supposed to have over 10 years of experience was subpar. He showed up about three hours late and was dressed terribly while he shuffled around guests to set up the outdoor cocktail hour music and the indoor DJ table and sound system. He then proceeded to go smoke outside with a lot of other guests around when no one else smoked. He finally changed into decent clothes but for the rest of the night drank our beer and was ordering Captain's toward the end of the night. The music was what we expected but nothing amazing for the price. We really expected a lot more professionalism from the DJ who showed up for the cost of this company.

Really awesome DJ. Kept the dancing going all night, and got our guests involved in creative ways. Our family and friends commented on the DJ after the wedding, saying how great and fun he was! Definitely would recommend for your wedding!

Loved our DJ Mr. Chris. We had great participation from our guests on the dance floor. He drove two hours to our event and we were so grateful. He knows how to mix music and there were was not a single song people weren't dancing too.

Hands down the best entertainment I have ever seen!!! My husband and I were a guest at a recent wedding down in Owatonna, MN at the Owatonna Country club. The DJ was Northern Lights, and what a fantastic job he did. Tiffany, the bride was out dancing all night. She had so much fun and you could tell by the smiles that was coming from that girl. I am so glad that he got everyone involved including the kids!! He play music that everyone could dance to, and his transitions and mixing were out of this world. I have been to a few weddings and the the setups are usually the same a couple a speakers and a few lights and the DJ is so-so. There set-up was very cool with lights and really awesome sound system. If we ever have a party, I will be sure to hire this company because if the professionalism of the DJ has anything to say about the company, then you have a future customer. I think the DJ's name was Chris! Ask for him to M/C or DJ your events he's the best!!

As the mother of the bride, I cannot thank Northern Lights and the owner Rick enough. Initially, my daughter had liked another DJ company that she met at the bridal fair. Something inside told me to keep looking. I remembered a co-worker's son had a wonderful DJ at his wedding. My co-worker referred me to Northern Lights (in fact they have used them for 4 weddings and will again when #5 gets married). My daughter, future son-in-law and I met with Rick at this showroom. He has an actual showroom with comfortable seating!! He walked us through what his company does, showed us the equipment and gave us a demonstration. He answered all of our questions. Not once did I feel pressured or trapped. It was really so much fun that 2 hours had passed. The day of the wedding, his DJ Chris was already set up when we arrived at the reception hall with beautiful mood music playing. Chris glided the evening perfectly and kept the dance floor packed all night. I wish I could give Rick and Northern Lights 10 stars!!

Rick goes all out when it comes to weddings and only provides the best services. He listens to his customers and makes the wedding feel like their day. I have been to weddings where the DJ makes it all about him and his business which totally takes away from the bride and groom. Rick only looks out for your best interest and most of all wants your wedding to be the best party!!! I was lucky enough to have Shooter DJ my wedding and it was exactly what I wanted... a fun party that was all about my new husband and I starting celebrating our day with family and friends. Northern Lights equipment is top of the line and you will not regret choosing them!

Rick and Chris were Amazing to work with! None of our Questions went unanswered. Hands Down the Best DJ Company in MN, WI, ND, SD and IA! The Sound System and Lighting is comparable to what you would see at a AC/DC Cover Band show. People STILL talk about our Wedding and how much FUN they had! It wasn't because of the food, it was the Dance! And our Wedding was 10 Years Ago. Don't run the risk of somebody's Uncle Joe showing up to your Wedding with a Flashlight and a Boombox! Call Rick at Northern Lights and Make your Wedding Night the BEST NIGHT OF YOUR LIFE!

Folks all I have to say is this company is by far the best choice for mobile DJs out there. Why do you ask because Rick the owner told me that he has a showroom that I could see their equipment. Try asking other companies to do that same comparison. When it came to the night of the demo we were absolutely elated. He and one of his DJs by the name of Chris gave us one of there free light and sound demonstrations. Also they have a very cool idea with a video slideshow which I don't believe any other company has that option. At the night of the dance we knew we made a great decision. The music was on point. The DJ was on point. The lighting show was on point. And that video slideshow, well let's just say that was a big talking point throughout the dance. If I could give this company 10 Stars I would but I can't so the best I can do is give such a wonderful review about the initial consultation to the very last dance was a complete success. Thank you Rick and the staff at Northern Lights for making our night fantastic!

Northern Lights DJ'd our wedding and we could not have been happier. They were so professional, accommodating, and enjoyable every step of the way. From first speaking with Rick Mros, owner of Northern Lights, the communication leading up to the event, to the night of our wedding and the DJ there. Northern Lights show is by far the best I have ever seen! They stayed in sync with the feel of the music we wanted for our wedding and really listened to all of our requests. The sound equipment they use made it possible for even the guests at the back of the room to hear and enjoy the music. The DJ was just the perfect blend of FUN & entertaining, yet classy and professional. I highly recommend Northern Lights DJ & Sound to anyone and everyone looking to hire a DJ for their wedding.

Northern Lights did an outstanding job at our wedding! Our DJ was on time, had no problems setting up, played all the songs we wanted, and the best part was he made sure everyone stayed dancing which made me the bride very happy! I highly recommend Northern Lights! You will not he disapointed!!!

I contacted a few DJs for our wedding. The one we wanted was available and we booked before Northern Lights contacted us back. Rick contacted me a day or two later and started off talking about his services. After 5 minutes I was able to tell him we had already booked a DJ. He then went on for another 5 minutes to tell me about his business. Then he asked about my DJ I hired. He then looked them up and told me they were mediocre. He made me feel like my decision on our DJ was going to be the worst decision of our lives and how he could do so much better. We picked our DJ because we had heard them before and loved them. After our conversation and making me feel bad he then emailed me asking for recommendations. I was irate that he made me feel bad and then had the guts to ask for recommendations when he already said my DJ was mediocre. As a professional to be hired for the biggest day of my life they never acted professionally. Our wedding was great or DJ was amazing and all our guests were out on the dance floor the entire night. So no buyers remorse here! i Never asked questions, there was no need to keep the conversation going when I had already hired someone. And the response... Rick be a professional and either don't respond or at the very least don't lie about our conversation. I wish all future brides the best of day with or without Northern Lights.

Northern Lights DJ did an excellent job at our wedding reception. They played great music and had people on the dance floor the entire time! We also had Northern Lights DJ take care of our up-lighting at the Minnesota History Center and it looked absolutely amazing. Our DJ Chris was great to work with and helped make our night extremely fun for everyone!

I first worked with Northern Lights at my work, hiring them for middle school youth ministry events. In 3 years we never had any issues with music or no shows. When we got engaged we didn't both looking for anyone else. The group of DJs that work for them, never disappoint. The DJ they sent us was not fully aware of the fact that we were a half American and half Mexican party. However, he handled everything with impeccable professionalism and grace. They are very willing to make your event as amazing as possible. You will not be disappointed with Northern Lights.

We had Shawn as our DJ. We didn't meet him until the day of, which made me a little nervous. We did meet with Rick the week of our wedding and Shawn had all our notes and followed them. We got exactly what we wanted. We used them for our ceremony and for the dance. Shawn took all our guest request and played most of our must play and didn't play any of our do not play list. The other thing I liked about Shawn was when we did our grand march he told us he was going to keep the music down as there were some older guest near the speakers. I thought this was very thoughtful of him. He kept the music down until they left over half way through the night, but the musice was still loud enough, but people could still talk. The dance floor was packed all night. We had many guest tell us it was one of the funnest weddings they have attended.

We loved the selection of music they had. The owner has a great system for keeping his music organized..it's all on a computer..sounds cheesy but he really had a great syustem..no skipping cds to deal with. They also had a great sound system, lights and we were overall happy that we went with them.;The owner Rick seems like a used car salesman, all smoozy, but he really delivered everything he said he would..so you just have to get past your first impression of him. Also make sure you keep any documentation about what you've paid because he forgot to write down that we'd paid them in full and we brought our paperwork when we met with him the 2nd time to go over music selection to remind him we we paid for everything already.

;They did not deliver the show we were promised. The DJ barely did anything. He didn't even announce the first dance. He was away from his station most of the evening. Don't use this vendor!
