For 2026, I am only booking small summer ceremonies in the Grand Traverse County area.
Your love makes the world a better place, and because you're best friends you're on a great adventure together. This is the focus of my ceremonies.
WARM AND INSPIRING
My goal as your officiant is to help you to feel known and supported so I do my best to get to know you and share the wonder of the relationship you're committing to. As important as how you met and fell in love is, I don't stop there. I love to discover what you love about each other and choose the perfect words that show what an awesome couple you are.
And I can help you stay open and calm just in case you get a bit 'a jitters! I've been doing this for over 30 years and ... I have my ways!!!
I make your friendship and the future you build together the focal point of your Northern Michigan wedding ceremony. I also donate to an animal rescue organization in honor of your marriage.
Whether you choose our simple (Free from Fuss), or relaxed (Easy Going) ceremony package, I truly believe your love makes the world a better place in more ways than one.

All the documentation she initially sent over for us to review was extremely helpful and easy to follow to curate our perfect ceremony. She gave great suggestions and listened to all our wants while we worked together leading up to the wedding day. She was very responsive as well and made the effort to follow up with us to ensure we were all on the same page with everything. My husband and I did not particularity want any religion incorporated in our ceremony and she was very receptive about it and encouraged our unique ceremony ideas.
On the day of the wedding, Sheila performed very well, spoke calmly and lovingly, which really eased our nerves standing up at the alter.
Even after the ceremony, the signing of the marriage license went smoothly with her and she immediately sent it out to the respective destination for quick processing, relieving us from that task during all the wedding craziness.
We highly recommend working with Sheila. It is obvious she loves this job, and she even left us with some great advice and helped us truly be in the moment on our wedding day.

w weeks before our wedding we received the itinerary for how she would do the ceremony and it did not reflect the changes that my husband and I had asked for. We reached out via email and again had a small disagreement about how that part of the ceremony should go. We expressed that it was important to us to have it said the traditional way and Crystal agreed to do it this way. HOWEVER, the day of the wedding Crystal completely ignored our wishes and did it her way instead. This felt extremely disrespectful towards me and my husband on our wedding day. If we would have known that she was just lying about how she would do that part of the ceremony, we would have found another officiant (regardless of the non-refundable deposited). We just feel disrespected, lied to, and now will have a reminded of this every time we watch our wedding video. Very sad. If you disagree with something that Crystal has in her ceremonies I suggest finding someone else!
