Not Your Ordinary Cakes

Jessica was amazing! She helped me come up with some great ideas for our cake and it was absolutely perfect for our Halloween wedding!

My daugther just got married . . . and the highlight of the wedding (after her beautiful dress and the touching ceremony, of course!) was the groom's cake! It was a UT Longhorn Steer, "The Bevo". The cake was an absolute hit! Many guests listed it as the #1 thing they liked/remembered/talked about at the wedding. It was fun. It was a statement. It was so realistic. It was incredibly well constructed. It was delicious. It was memorable. It made for great pics. It was unique (especially since the majority of our guests came from outside Texas where groom's cakes are not as common). The Bevo was so beautifully made that several guests did not understand it was a cake and kept touching it! There were several finger marks on the icing by the time the cake was cut, but we thought that was all the more fun. We appreciated Jessica's suggestion to add sparklers for the cutting. Great photos! She also made the cake in two flavors which was very nice. The groom's cake made it on the thank you cards sent out by the bride and groom. It's definitely at the top of our list of favorite wedding moments (again . . . after the beautiful bride and lovely ceremony, lol!) Jessica was so easy to work with. She responded quickly and provided good guidance especially for such a unique order. We took the extra Bevo cake home and served it at Easter brunch the next day and it was a hit the second time around. We loved working with Jessica. Everyone loved the cake. It was worth every penny since it was a cake, a decoration, a photo op and a unique/memorable highlight at the wedding. It was especially fun as this was a surprise for everyone (even the bride and groom!). I would highly recommend NYO Cakes.

If you’re thinking of it, stop. Just DO IT. Jessica was nothing short of amazing. She listened, she took notes, she made suggestions, and then did it 100 more times when my fiancé and I just had no idea what to do for our wedding cake. We had a small vision, and then that changed, and then that kinda kept changing, but in all stages of indecisiveness, Jessica was there and already with an answer at that. We had plenty of issues with different vendors, but NYO Cakes was never one of them. And OMG was our cake not only beautiful but absolutely delicious! 100% satisfaction, and if at any point we weren’t (didn’t happen), she was more than glad to fix it. Pick NYO. I promise you won’t regret it!

Jessica made the whole process was simple and easy. Jessica was communicative, creative, and made sure that she understood what we wanted. She worked with us so we can have beautiful cakes and stay in budget. She didn't oversell us on cake. If anything, she talked us down from too much cake by explaining how the cakes will be cut and ideal serving size. The design of the Mandalorian helmet was exactly what my husband wanted and it was a hit with the guests. Oh yes, and the cakes tasted amazing.
