overcharged and under-delivered
I booked Tabatha to help with a wedding party for 185 people: no flowers, no ceremony, no cake. She charged me $2,000 but provided no help apart fr...om booking three vendors. Hiring her is one of the worst decisions I've ever made.
* Poor attention to detail - For example, she sent me info from the caterer with the wrong food a month after we had confirmed dinner and I'd paid a deposit. There were a bunch of things I needed to tell her more than once (e.g., rectangular tables over round ones and no teaspoons).
* Poor communication - For example, the tent was delivered a day before I expected it, and the site wasn't ready. She knew I expected the tent on Friday. We had discussed the delivery time so I could arrange to have someone meet the delivery people (since she was unavailable). Although the message she forwarded did have the date the vendor planned the delivery, I only noticed the time, and she did not point out the delivery day or make any effort to ask the vendor to change the day. I got a call at 7am from the site and had to scramble to make things work. Although the vendor told her when everything was resolved, she didn't call or text me.
* Cost me more than $1,000 in extra charges - I confirmed the biggest vendor contract with her over the phone. She did not book it. Weeks later, she told me the tent was no longer available and I'd have to use a different vendor, who charged $1,100 more for the same tent.
* Rude and defensive - Here is an example of our texts about missing items a week after the wedding (and 5 days after our previous texts):
TN: Since I was unable to answer did you call [site contact] to have him help look?
Me: No. I asked if you had [his] number. You did not reply so I figured you had it handled.
TN: Why would you assume I had handled it when I was unable to respond.
Me: I didn't know you were unable to respond. You asked me a question. I answered it and asked if you needed more help to solve the problem. You didn't reply, and didn't tell me that I should handle the problem myself.
Me: I texted you Tuesday, were you unable to respond from then until today?
TN: Because I was in a meeting and did not get your message until later that night. ...
I think she's in the wrong business.
