Nutmeg created our wedding cake and we had an excellent experience. The tasting process was simple and provided us the opportunity to decide which flavors to ultimately move forward with. Although Nutmeg is a busy bakery we felt very confident through the process that we were in good hands and that was spot on. We had a Friday the 13th wedding and shared our vision of a dark/moody wedding cake and Meg turned our vision to life exactly how we imagined it. The cake was aesthetically beautiful and delicious. Our guests were blown away by the craftsmanship and taste. We cut into our dream cake and could not have asked for anything more on our special day.

This team is wonderful! They took what I thought was a very cryptic idea of what I wanted, and created something truly beautiful and delicious. What's more, when I returned the cake stand, they even gave me some additional cake they had on hand. After not getting to eat it at the wedding, it was a wonderful treat for later. We loved our wedding cake from Nutmeg and Meg & team were great to work with! We got married in Philadelphia but live in Miami, and it was nice that we were able to pick up a tasting box when we were in town, fly home with it, and do our tasting in Miami. Communication, delivery, etc. was all great!

Nutmeg was wonderful! From intake, tasting packages, flavor and style selection, all through the process. Great communication throughout and delicious unique flavors. The cake was a beautiful centerpiece of artwork at our wedding! We loved this part of our wedding planning and our wedding. Would definitely recommend!

I just got married on 3/26/23. Our cake was out of this world delicious, so much flavor, so moist, everyone at our wedding raved about the cake! We went with the orange olive oil cake with orange honey buttercream & orange meringue & of course some dark chocolate drizzle. Meg at Nutmeg is quick to respond to emails. The team is easy to work with & they take a lot of stress off your shoulders. They are true talented artists. Try out Nutmeg you won’t be disappointed! I will be using Nutmeg again in the future!

Not only the best wedding cake we tried, but also some of the best cake I've had in general. Meg was super open to all our ideas and the cake turned out beautifully. My only regret is that I couldn't order every flavor, it's that good.

The absolute best of the best bakery in the area. Meg and her team are insanely talented and create designs and flavors with that WOW factor! We hired Nutmeg to design our wedding cake and we are so happy we did. The cakery offers a few cake tastings per year and they are worth every penny. Come hungry, though! The slices are large and in charge and packed with flavor and moist as can be. While many flavor pairings are offered, you have the option to choose whatever combo you’d like. The process itself was very easy and Meg was very accommodating and helpful along the way. The cake shops even give the option to prepackage an anniversary cake which we loved for the convenience. It’s no shock that everyone raved about our cake(s). We chose the chocolate cake with cherry buttercream and chocolate chunk and bourbon cherries. If you’ve ever tried a chocolate covered cherry, you will LOVE this combo. For our backstage cake we chose a more classic combo: vanilla chocolate chunk with chocolate ganache. Equally as delicious and perfect for those guests who have a simpler palette. Thank you so much, Nutmeg, for helping make our wedding day perfect!! We can’t wait to return for more cakes in the future.

Meg is PHENOMENAL! Her sugar flowers are so realistic that everyone thought they were real. We had a grooms cake, a wedding cake, and a sheet cake in the back with three different flavors. The flavors were spice cake with apple compote and vanilla buttercream, pistachio cake with vanilla buttercream, and orange olive oil cake with Nutella buttercream. All were amazing! Some of our guest were fighting over sharing different flavors or eating the last bite. I cannot recommend Nutmeg enough. She also did my bridal shower cake (lemon cake, lemon curd filling, vanilla buttercream). We ordered twice as many slices as guests and there was not a single piece left at the end of the event because so many people ate seconds or took a piece home with them! The restaurant staff also said it was the best looking, most consistent crumb they’ve ever seen. *I will add professional pictures when I receive them

Meg and her team did an incredible job on our cake and cookies. Not only was it gorgeous but several people told me it was the most delicious wedding cake they had ever had. I could not recommend them highly enough!

Contracting Nutmeg Cake Design, was hands down one of the easiest and best decisions I made for my wedding this past July. Initially meeting Meg and having our first consultation with her was such a special experience. She took the time to get to know us as a couple, to understand our likes / dislikes, vision, define what cake flavor combinations best represented us and ensure alignment with the overall design aesthetic of the wedding + venue throughout the entire process. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that the cake tasting process was equally as magical. Nutmeg has mastered their cake tasting presentation and Meg sends her couples home with a package of individually curated vignettes of their most delicious cake / buttercream creations along with the latest issue of Philadelphia Wedding Magazine. Let me tell you that this was some of the most fun my husband and I had throughout our entire wedding planning process! It was packaged so well that we were able to taste test at home and then rewrap our tastings, cross state lines and include our parents in the cake tasting fun as well! We worked with Meg through multiple wedding postponements due to the covid pandemic and she handled each amendment with poise and utmost professionalism. We also worked with Meg to create a custom stencil for our wedding cake design and through each step of the process Meg ensured that all of our questions, concerns and minds were at ease. On the day of our wedding, some of the best compliments we received were in regards to how scrumptious our wedding cake flavors were! Both my husband and I cannot wait to rip through our 1-year anniversary cake which is patiently waiting to be devoured in our freezer! Final point: throughout it all, Meg delivered - simply put. This is THE place!! I was drawn to Nutmeg based on their designs but the experience, product and service is all 10/10. The cake is amazing, we fell in love with their baking with the super fun tasting. You want your cake to be beautiful, sometimes that sacrifices the taste but not these, perfect flavor and moisture. Their process is streamlined which is very much appreciated. Meg was always helpful with any questions and brainstorming. I would absolutely recommend to anyone to hire for their special event. From the very start of planning our 2022 wedding in 2020, we instantly knew we wanted Nutmeg to create our cake. It is safe to say this was the best decision ever, and we are so happy we had Meg as part of our day. Meg was extremely easy to work with, and made the process so fun. Our tasting day was a day I will never forget, every single flavor was beyond delicious, and it was so hard to choose! We ended up going with orange olive oil and honey merengue buttercream, and it was even more delicious on our wedding day. We had so many compliments on how amazing it tasted, and it looked just as great as it tasted! Meg truly nailed the vision I was going for, just based off pictures alone. Pictures of her cakes really do not to justice to how amazing they turn out in real life! I'm not-so-secretly trying to stop myself from diving into our leftover cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I'm not exaggerating when I say that our cake from Nutmeg was my absolute favorite part of our wedding. I had the pleasure of working with Meg for over 3 years (due to the pandemic!) and she and her team truly went above and beyond my wildest dreams!!! Meg was absolutely amazing to work with! I saw one of their gorgeous cakes on instagram and worked with her one on one to make it work for my wedding and it was stunning! Not only was it gorgeous, it tasted amazing! Wedding cakes are never this delicious! The cake tasting experience was also one of a kind and very intimate. I loved being able to be home with my partner and taste the cakes on our own time. Wonderful experience working with nutmeg! Will definitely be using them for future events :)

We signed up for a tasting to celebrate our Nov 2020 engagement and wound up falling in love with Nutmeg Cake Design’s flavors. Her consultation with us made everything so easy. We loved that we could mix and match the cake and icing options and design elements to create something that felt true to us in desert form. We ordered an earl grey cake with honey butter cream for our cutting cake along with mini cupcakes in chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream and champagne cake with passion fruit butter cream. In a planning year that had a lot of twists and turns (guest count, covid considerations, design changes etc), Meg was a team player and easy to work with. Looking forward to ordering from Meg and her team to celebrate our first anniversary (Sep 2022).

Meg and the Nutmeg team are incredible! Our wedding cake was so delicious and all the guests were raving about how unique and delicious the flavors were (cookie butter and earl gray)! It was unlike any other wedding cake we have tasted before. The delivery and set up was effortless and they even arranged for us to have a little tier to freeze for our anniversary with the date of our wedding iced on top. Meg and her team are truly amazing. We booked Meg back in 2019 for our 2020 wedding that got postponed to 2021. Meg was extremely flexible and accommodating with us moving our date and made the entire process a breeze. A few months out from our wedding, we decided to change the look of our cake and opt for a more fun palette and even though Meg had already drawn up the original design, she was more than happy to change to our new look. She is so helpful in explaining all of the different options and combinations and is great with offering her professional opinion when you're not sure which to chose! Our cake came out absolutely beautiful - better than anything I ever could have imagined. Our guests loved it and we cannot wait to eat our anniversary tier. Very high chance it doesn't make it a full year ;). I cannot recommend Meg and her team enough. We were so lucky to work with her!!!!

Yum yum yum!!! From our little at-home Covid safe tasting to the design process, and then the final result, everything was PERFECT. We went with a smaller 2 tier cake for symbolic/tradition and got a bunch of mini cupcakes for our guests. They loved that they could try the different flavors of each of the cupcakes we chose. Lastly, Nutmeg did our favors for the end of the night … macarons in sweet little boxes — 3 different flavors and they were so yummy!!!!

I found Meg through my venue Terrain. We did the at home cake testing and could not believe how good every single piece of cake was. We decided on the orange olive oil cake with honey buttercream. I cannot express just how DELICIOUS AND BEAUTIFUL my cake was. Meg was amazing to work with and helped come up with an amazing design and color to capture my vision of my moody/fall wedding. I cried when I saw our cake. I cannot recommend Nutmeg enough!

Where do I even begin? Meg Skill needs to be on the food network ASAP. Our cake was literally the most perfect, DELICIOUS, magical cake ever. Meg took our vision and brought it to life, making for the most beautiful cake I've ever seen. Not to mention how delicious it was! We are guilty of eating the top layer of our cake already, we couldn't wait for our one year anniversary. :)

We found Meg and Nutmeg Cake Designs at a wedding event held at the Horticulture Center in February 2020. Despite all of the craziness an uncertainty that followed, Meg remained responsive and optimistic. She coordinated a remote tasting event- with over 10 delicious flavor combos. She was able to accommodate our wedding date change, and made the entire process as pain free as possible. We weren't exactly sure what we wanted, so we gave her creative license with some basic parameters for our two (smaller) cakes. She never tried to pressure us into doing anything more/different and we could not be more pleased with how they both turned out. At least three people told us that it was the "best carrot cake that they had ever had".

I had such a great experience working with Meg of Nutmeg Cake Design for my wedding. I was living in Manayunk at the time I was looking for a baker and loved the idea of using someone local. As a dessert lover and chocoholic I was drawn to all of the delicious flavors she offers. The tasting did not disappoint. Each flavor is true to its name and I was happy to eat all of the samples. When it came to the design of the cake I wanted Meg to draw inspiration from the floral details of my dress. She was so excited and enthusiastic about the creative opportunity and that we really wanted the cake to make a statement. She went above and beyond with the final product and on the day of my wedding I was truly blown away with how she was able to capture the details of my dress in the design of the cake. Meg created the most beautiful cake for our wedding. She was so helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. Everyone was raving about how amazing the cake looked and tasted! Nutmeg Cake Design was extremely pleasurable to work with! We used them for our wedding, and I will absolutely be using them in the future for future events. Not only was it extremely well coordinated, the design was impeccable! It was so easy to communicate with them to get what we wanted. She makes it so easy. We got to taste some Nutmeg Cake Design cookies as part of our favors bag from the Equal Dignity Pop Up Nuptials, where we were married in November 2020. The cookies were beautiful and delicious! And we so appreciated all of the vendors who donated their time in support and affirmation of LGBTQ+ couples.

The nutmeg cake was so very delicious! All our guests loved the olive oil and orange cake with honey frosting. They did a great job capturing our vision for the decorations and their covid sample box for tasting conveyed their selection perfectly (and was very yummy)

Meg was on the list of recommended vendors from our venue and we are so happy we went with her. She was such a pleasure to work with and was so helpful with helping us make the decisions on the cake size and flavors (there are so many amazing options to choose from). We sent Meg a couple of pictures of the kind of cake we were looking for in terms of design and described our ideas and the final product exceeded our expectations. Meg also made us a separate anniversary tier that we froze and we finally had it a couple of weeks ago and although it was in our freezer for a year, it still tasted so good and looked beautiful. I highly recommend working with her on any of your events.

The entire process from tasting to wedding day was so simple! And delish!! We picked up a sample box from Nutmeg and fell in love with the champagne raspberry flavor combo. We saw a cake designed by Nutmeg on Instagram and used that as our inspiration. Paid online and that was it! When I arrived to my wedding venue I had to go peek at the cake and I was so happy!! My guests were taking photos of the cake and everyone was talking about how great it tasted. Absolutely recommend! We also love the macarons here- so yummy!

After rescheduling our wedding twice due to COVID, we decided to plan a backyard ceremony while we waited for the chance to celebrate with a larger group of family and friends. We still wanted to have a small cake for our 10 guests. Nutmeg’s textured cake was a beautifully simple and very delicious option. The cake flavors here are so unique. My husband wasn’t sure about the earl grey cake and honeycomb icing we chose, but on our wedding day, he and every one else raved about the flavor! The cake’s decor also withstood the September sun for several hours. The pickup process and all communications were also seamless to boot!

Best cake and macaroons ever! Nutmeg Cake Design made our day with our beautiful three-tier, raspberry filling and champagne wedding cake and macaroon favors (passion fruit and blue/blackberry)... ahhhh mouth watering flavors!!!!! Not only was our cake and favors INCREDIBLE on our wedding day, but working with Nutmeg throughout the process was extraordinary. Long overdue review! Meg was a delight to work with. She was super responsive and friendly, and she gave us all the options we were looking for upfront. We wanted a simple, 1 tier cake with blue and white textures, and it turned out absolutely beautiful! The payment process was easy too. Highly recommend!

So, so happy we went with Meg + Nutmeg Cake Design. The entire process, from tasting to design to the final cake, was everything we wanted. The flavors that Nutmeg carries are so unique and absolutely delicious. We went with an earl grey cake and it was just phenomenal. We also had a groom's cake that was banana cake with cinnamon buttercream, a flavor combination that Meg had recommended, and it was spectacular. Our cake tasted fantastic and it looked incredible. Meg created the most gorgeous design for us based on my super vague and varied taste in cakes. She came up with three gorgeous and unique designs for us to choose from and the one we went with us even more beautiful in person. Communicating with Meg throughout the process was so easy. She also worked with our venue to make sure the groom's cake stayed a surprise and had an anniversary tier for us that was already packaged and ready to go. We didn't have to worry about a single thing on our wedding day. We can't recommend Meg and Nutmeg enough!

Meg was a pleasure to work with and the quality of her cake is unbeatable! The taste and texture is amazing, but she somehow manages to maintain that and also create the most beautiful works of art! I loved the simple, rustic elegance of the design we came up with, and I got so many compliments on the light summery flavor. My husband just about hates all cake, but this one we agreed on and he loved it! I can't wait to use Nutmeg again for all the other celebrations in our life :)

From the very first tasting to the rental drop-offs, working with Meg was so easy and wonderful, not to mention delicious! Our tasting got to include both Mothers, with some leftovers packaged up beautifully for Grandma! Meg worked with us through multiple iterations of design and tastings for our cupcakes and small but beautiful 2 layer cake. We never felt pressure to "go bigger" than we really needed. The desserts looked beautiful and tasted even better and had such creative and fun flavors... champagne, nutella, and speculoos cakes were the real stars of our wedding! Meg was wonderful with the amount of ease of both communication and contracting. We can't wait to find another reason to celebrate so we can work with Nutmeg again!

First and foremost our cake was delicious! It was also an absolute work of art. No other vendor could compare to Meg both in taste and design. The whole experience was so easy and special. We will forever order cakes from Nutmeg!

We ordered our wedding cake from Nutmeg for our August 2019 wedding. Through the process, Meg was very responsive and organized. Meg was helpful in walking us through cake flavor options, cake decor, and the delivery process. She was very accommodating when we ordered additional cake samples and we not only got more than we almost knew what to do with, she explained how to store them so we could share them with family and friends, which helped in the (tough) decision-making process. We ordered a three-tiered cake and there were not a lot of leftovers. My great aunt, who lives all of 15 minutes away from the Nutmeg and doesn't eat a lot of sweets, wanted samples of each flavor to go.

Meg Skill of Nutmeg Cake Design was so wonderful. She designed the most beautiful cake we’ve ever seen and made my wife and our guests so happy. We looked for various cake vendors in the area and stumbled across her Instagram page which shows such beautiful cakes, cupcakes and other treats. We wondered how something so pretty would taste so we set up a tasting and consultation with her at her shop in Manayunk. She welcomed us on time and had an awesome selection set up for us. While we were eating all of the awesome flavors she had provided, she told us a bit about herself, why she is so passionate about what she does and how it all happens. She was open, fun and genuine with us and we knew that we found the person we wanted to work with. We chose a honey pistachio cake that was an absolute HIT at the wedding and think the intricacies of the cake she made were second to none. If you need a sweet treat for guests, go to Nutmeg and work on your dream design! She rocks and was so awesome to work with.

As a groom who does not love sweets, I was very very happy with Nutmeg's cake. They worked with us from the very start to really nail the flavors we both were looking for. The cake was not only tasty, and nailed all of the flavor notes but it looked far better than we could have imagined. It was almost too nice looking to eat, but that didn't stop my wife from pushing some of it on my face. I would highly recommend using Nutmeg to anyone in need of a wedding cake.

Meg was wonderful to work with. We requested a specific look and matte look for our cake and she made a perfect one for us! We loved it and it looked gorgeous as our centerpiece. She also advised us on getting the appropriate stand and ended up renting one from Nutmeg, which was way sturdier than the one we got off of Amazon. Would definitely work with them again!

Meg was amazing to work with. She really took her time to ask questions and listen to ideas that I had for what we envisoned for our wedding cake. We chose Nutmeg for our wedding cake, and Meg did not disappoint! The cake was beautiful and delicious. The cake at our tasting was slightly better than our actual wedding cake, which was surprising because our wedding cake was made fresh. Both cakes were still better than any other cakes we tasted during the audition period.

Nutmeg was definitely one of the greatest choices of our wedding that did not disappoint in the least! My husband and I started off the wedding cake process with barely an idea of what we wanted, but Meg was so sweet and communicated with us so well, helping us form an idea of not only an aesthetically beautiful cake, but one that tasted delicious and unique. She even created brand new flavors just for us: earl grey, matcha, and passion fruit! Our tasting session was unbelievable and we had the hardest time choosing which flavors to go with because we loved everything. It can be nerve-wracking just looking at sketches of the cake and not knowing what it would look like until the actual day, but my husband and I were blown away--not only were the colors and texture of the cake amazing, but everyone could NOT stop raving about how delicious our cake was! We requested to take a few pieces home (each layer was a different flavor) since we didn't get a chance to eat them on the day of, and we finished them all within a matter of minutes. Not only did we work with Meg for our wedding cake, but we also asked her to make cupcakes as our wedding favors. We do not regret this decision one bit... Meg created the cutest, most adorable, and stinkin' delicious succulent cupcakes! She helped to bring our simple visions into life, and they exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to find more reasons to work with Meg in the future!

Our cake was sooo scrumptious and Meg/Nutmeg is simply amazing!! Meg is professional, talented and so considerate. We got married in the winter and had a party at Terrain in the Spring. We decided on a naked cake a month or two before via email. Well, I ended up so sick the week before my party and emailed Meg about ideas to jazz up our cake a bit. She went above and beyond and got the most beautiful flowers for me so I didn't have to go out to a florist myself. Everyone raved about our cake the night of our party and to be honest, it was the highlight of my night (having not eaten for almost a whole week). We can't wait for the next event!

Meg's Cake is ridiculously delicious! She is very nice and easy to communicate. I got my wedding cake here and everyone loves it! It is beautiful and tasteful! Do yourself a favor and get your wedding cake from Nutmeg! I ordered a cake and cookie favors for my sister's bridal shower and everyone was blown away! The cake was delicious - even non-cake eaters couldn't get enough! And the cookies were so adorable and yummy! Everyone sent pictures of themselves enjoying the cookies later that day! Beyond being an extremely talented baker, Meg is an artist - making each cake / cookie design a work of art! Meg is extremely talented and easy to work with!

Meg was great from the first email to the wedding day. We loved meeting Meg at her workspace to go over our vision for our cake, but also hear about what she loves doing and her depth of experience. Communication throughout the process was very easy. In the end we ended up giving Meg a few things that we definitely wanted and we left her to design what she thought would work best. She was able to send us a sketch of her vision and we were in love right away. The cake was so beautiful the day of and fit with our scheme and venue. Amazing vendors really allow you to enjoy the day to the fullest extent and Meg definitely an integral part of that!!

We chose different flavor combinations for each tier of the cake, and one was more delicious than the next. We couldn't have picked a better person to work with for our wedding cake. We had a tighter turnaround than most weddings and Meg was so nice and accommodating, making the process way easier than we originally thought it would be. The cake we picked (pumpkin with maple pecan buttercream) was AMAZING. One of our guests said it was the best cake she ever had. And we agree :)

We had a cake made by Nutmeg for our wedding on July 29th 2017. Meg was great to work with from the initial tasting, through the cake design process, and on the actual day of the wedding. Our cake turned out so beautiful and was exactly what we wanted. It tasted fantastic, as well! I highly recommend Nutmeg!!!!
