such beautifully creative suggestions for my fine hair. She gave me the most gorgeous and voluminous waves that lasted throughout the Houston humidity. Nyoka is so personable and really cares about her brides. She really gets to know you as a person and can easily make you a friend. I asked her if she was available to do my hair and make-up for my postponed wedding celebration in September 2021. At the time, she was already booked with another bride, but as fate would have it, the bride also postponed her wedding, so Nyoka reached out to me immediately as I was in a desperate bind to looking for a hair and make-up team. She customized a package just for me and my bridal party. Nyoka was also so accommodating after my MIL and mom decided to have their make-up done last minute too. Her team arrived on time, was so funny/friendly, made us feel and look like "Superstars" (as my MIL put it), and was able to get 8 bridesmaids hair and makeup done well before schedule. The cherry on top was her beautifully personalized beauty gift box for the day of my wedding, which she customized with my name, lip stain, champagne and glass, make-up remover and so much more . Nyoka is amazing!

color unfortunately so I left my trial looking like a pale ghost and my edges weren't laid Y'ALL. Anyway! I kept searching for a hairstylist after that and reached out to Nyoka. She resent me her brochure, answered all my questions, and was so professional. I ended up going to her to get a relaxer first as an unofficial trial and after meeting her and seeing how great my hair looked I knew she was it! The experience only got better. Being a 2020 bride, I had to postpone my wedding twice. She was patient with me and worked with me towards my availability and kept in contact the whole time. The week of the wedding my mom and sister went to get their hair done at her salon and loved her too! On the day of the wedding, she was on time to show up and even brought me a cute gift. She and her assistant did several of my family member's hair efficiently, and worked with the makeup team to create a timeline (which I know was difficult given that I had a large party). I looked like a princess, and she stayed later to fix my hair for an outfit change. She was honestly one of the best vendors I worked with and I will be forever grateful. Although I've moved away from Houston she's my forever hairstylist whenever I'm around and my mom and sister plan to visit her when they're in town. Also, one word of advice. You get what you pay for. She gives excellent service and she is worth the price. I tried to go cheap the first time and ended up wasting more money. So a.k.a HIRE HER.

What I appreciated about Nyoka is her wiliness to share her opinion -- when I was very concerned about my hair style for the wedding after various hair trials (I had a different hair stylist booked at the time)-- she explained to me the way she would do the style and even walked me through it at one of our make-up trial runs. She was honest and upfront with me about what I should expected and it was then that I realized that I was having the wrong person do my hair on the most important day of my life to date. She was able to add my hair style in- no issue! I also appreciated that I could be honest and upfront with her. If I didn't like something, I felt like I could tell her, she didn't get angry or snappy at me. Even the day of the wedding, when I thought my make up wasn't coming out the way we trialed it-- I said something and she had no issue redoing it to make sure it was perfect! My makeup lasted all night!- my hair not so much, but we already knew that was going to happen with all my dancing and sweating the whole night (outdoor wedding) :) I am so grateful to Nyoka for making me feel and look beautiful for my special day!
