. It was really important to us that the ceremony not just be an obligatory half hour on the way to the party, but a feature part of our wedding day. Rebecca of Oak City Ceremonies made it so. We met virtually with Rebecca for an initial consultation and immediately knew the vibe was right. We booked her and when our wedding day got closer, we met with her in person for a coffee and chat about what we wanted for our ceremony. She sent up follow up materials, including potential readings for our friends, sample vows, and videos of how we could do our handfasting ceremony. She also sent us a survey (for me and my now husband to complete), which asked about our first date, first impressions, what we love about each other now, etc. From all the information she gathered, Rebecca wrote us the most beautiful and authentic-to-us ceremony. One guest commented afterward that the way that Rebecca wove in our Love Story made her and our other guests feel like they were part of that story. Many other guests remarked upon how beautiful our ceremony was. Rebecca’s words really brought everyone together in this common understanding of why we were all gathered here today: the work and love that had been put into our relationship, now culminating in this moment where we joined in matrimony. Several guests thought she was my relative because she's so genuine and feels like she's known us since the beginning with the way she delivered. She was so well spoken with the right combination of sincerity, love and humor. Rebecca was such a joy to work with in all the planning stages and is so responsive and detailed. We felt comfortable working with them right away and that never changed. I couldn't recommend them enough!

Rebecca was even willing to come to our rehearsal dinner and run through last-minute details. During our wedding itself, Rebecca was absolutely phenomenal! Almost all of our guests asked about our relationship with Rebecca and mentioned that it was "the best wedding ceremony they have ever attended!" I was asked several times by wedding guests if Rebecca was a member of our family, since she captured the nuances and details of our love story so incredibly well! Rebecca intentionally sent a survey to our close family and friends asking for their perspective of our relationship. This process allows her to get to know the couple from multiple perspectives and provide a holistic backstory during the ceremony. We are endlessly thankful for choosing Rebecca to officiate our ceremony!

id and didn’t want as part of our ceremony a few months before. Then she provided my fiance & I with a questionnaire about our journey together. She also reached out to some family & friends we provided to her with some questions. With the answers to all these questions she wrote our love story (that was shared during the ceremony). It was as if she’d known us all along. It was heartfelt and captured our true emotions while having some lightheartedness for us and guests to laugh too. For all aspects outside of the love story, Rebecca let us pick and choose what we wanted included and exactly what was said. She provided the exact script (minus the love story) ahead of time and allowed us to make edits. We received SO many compliments from guests saying it was the best ceremony they have witnessed. Compliments were not only about the content of the ceremony but the strong, genuine way that Rebecca delivered it. I am so thankful we chose Rebecca for our wedding day!!❤️

Rebecca took the time to get to know us personally- and sent us and our closest friends and family questionnaires to get to know us better. She used these questionnaires to write a beautiful synopsis of our love story to share during our ceremony. At our reception- almost everyone that we spoke with remarked on how much they loved hearing our love story and how our ceremony was so special and different from any other wedding they have attended (in a good way!). She was so flexible and inclusive and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process. We also greatly appreciated that she made herself available the day before our ceremony to attend our rehearsal with the bridal party. All of my bridesmaids told me that Rebecca had such a sweet and calming presence that put them all at ease. They were able to suggest some beautiful readings as well as language for our vows and ring exchange. Rebecca did an excellent job writing our "love story" to share during our ceremony, and she made it so easy for us by talking with us and sending us surveys to fill out about our story. We loved this part of planning our ceremony - through hectic wedding planning, it really allowed us to take a moment to reflect on our love and our marriage. She struck the perfect balance between lighthearted and sentimental. Emily attended our rehearsal and made sure everyone knew what to do. On the day of our wedding, Emily was wonderful at making a last minute shift indoors due to weather, and, during the ceremony, you could tell that everyone in the room felt connected. We have received so many compliments from our guests about how much they loved Emily and our ceremony! We really can't say enough wonderful things about our experience with Rebecca and Emily. We loved working with them, and they really made our ceremony the absolute best part of our day!
