I was searching for a church family when I moved to Dallas and was so fortunate to discover Oak Lawn United Methodist. I had become discouraged by the Christian church and found it didn’t align with my own personal beliefs about equality, love ...
and reason. Oak Lawn healed me and showed me how full my faith could become when surrounded by people who were open, honest and accepting.

The English language does not have strong enough words to describe how wonderful, affirming, and loving this church is. It is Christ's hands and feet in the world, truly. From their trans clothing swap, to providing a warming shelter for street...
people in freezing weather, they do not shy away from caring for those that society ignores.

This church has no business dinging their clock and playing a whole song at 11:00 at night. There is a hotel right across the street full of people trying to sleep. We get it. There's a church there. Turn the noise off.
