I took my bridesmaid dress here for cleaning after a somewhat "wild" wedding. I had all sorts of spray tan, frosting, & general gunk all over it. I brought it in to Oakwood Cleaners & they explained the process very clearly. They seem to be very knowledgeable, as much of the technical info was way over my head. They do a complicated inspection process - photos, listing all the spots & damage in the computer. I have never seen another dry cleaner even come close to that amount of attention to detail. They said that they couldn't guarantee that all the stains would come out, but I wasn't surprised. I trashed that dress! However, when I got it back, it was in better condition than when I got it. All the gunk came off and it was pressed really nicely. It was wrapped in an inflated plastic bag with a cardboard hanging mannequin, which is keeping it from getting smooshed. I'm really happy I splurged to get my dress cleaned here. It was worth every penny. I'd definitely recommend Oakwood for nicer clothes - and everyday clothes, if you have the budget for it. They do a fantastic job. I'll be coming here for all my formal dry cleaning in the future.

I chose Oakwood to work on my very dirty wedding gown and they did not disappoint! Black light inspection and photos are taken beforehand. The person that I spoke to was informative and helpful. Definitely recommend to a friend.

My parents are about to celebrate 60 years married. They were in the process of downsizing and my mom thought that meant she would no longer have room to keep her wedding dress. She had never preserved it; it had simply been kept hanging in her closet. The dress was in need of some love and restoration (stains from 60 year ago / discoloration of the material) and I luckily found Oakwood. Rhonda treated me like her own family! The whole staff made me feel like they were all there to make this dress beautiful again for my mom. AND THEY DID IT! It is gorgeous and looks just as perfect as it did 60 years ago! My mom cried! Can't recommend Oakwood Cleaners enough for wedding dress cleaning!! My wedding dress was GROSS when I took it to them to get cleaned, stained with dirt, spray tan, makeup, and spilled wine. I honestly didn't have super high hopes about it being restored to perfection because it had been so stained throughout the day but they did it somehow! It was given back to me in pristine condition, steamed and nicely hung up so it would minimize wrinkles in the dress. It gave me even more peace of mind that they use a text number you can request updates from, respond back to any questions they have come up, or get updates on when it will be ready for pick up. It was a long wait to get back since it is hand cleaned but well worth it.

Oakwood cleaners did my alterations and cleaning/pressing before my wedding and planning dress preservation as well. Birdie, the seamstress did such a wonderful job with my dress, she was able to add in pockets to an already difficult dress and sew in some personal touches in the skirt. There were some last minute details and Oakwood handled them professionally and timely. I appreciate the care and detail they put into everything!

I bought a wedding gown on sale and thought "This will do." But it needed some slight alterations, and I didn't know who to trust. A friend recommended the alteration crew at Oakwood Cleaners... and I'm incredible grateful. Birdy hit it out of the park. She took a dress that "would do" and transformed it into a dress I was in love with and never wanted to take off. I'm still pretty stunned. She was professional, caring, and thought out of the box to solve problems with the dress and make it the best it could be. I am incredibly grateful and can't recommend her work enough!!!

If I could give Oakwood Cleaners 100 out of 5 stars, I would. Oakwood Cleaners took on a HUGE project of both restoring and tailoring my vintage 61-year-old, 3rd generation wedding dress and turned it into the most beautiful heirloom dress I could have ever asked for. This dress was made in 1961 for my grandmother's wedding day. Then her daughter, my mother, wore it again in 1989 for her wedding. Since my grandmother's wedding 61 years ago, the dress was never once properly preserved or stored. It was in poor shape, to say the least. When I started planning my wedding in 2021, I really didn't entertain the idea of using my mom's wedding dress as my own because I knew it wasn't in good shape and that it was quite old. But after reading some of Oakwood Cleaner's reviews on vintage wedding dress restorations, I decided to take the dress in, and have it looked over - and I am so glad I did. From the second I walked in Oakwood Cleaner's doors, I was treated with nothing but the utmost professionalism and sincerity. They treated my vintage dress with love and reverence, as if it was their own mother's. Their team was extremely knowledgeable about everything to do with the dress, the fabric, and the structure which allowed them to manipulate and restore it to its previous beauty. Oakwood Cleaners even had an in-house seamstress, Birdy, that was able to take on my dress as another project. Since she was knowledgeable about the restoration process and how to deal with vintage fabrics, she provided expert advice and skill in fixing the structure of the dress and tailoring it to my body. This allowed me to have my vintage dress restored, tailored, and pressed all in the same building by the same experts. I cannot say enough how thankful I am for the team at Oakwood Cleaner's. They made it possible for me to wear the same dress on my wedding day that my mother wore on her wedding day and her mother before that wore on her wedding day. This meant more to me than I can possibly explain in this review. But if you're reading this review, wondering if you should take your wedding dress into Oakwood Cleaner's, please deliberate no further and go in!

Took my daughter’s wedding dress to be cleaned and preserved. I picked it up today and it looks wonderful. Love the people that work at Oakwood. They treat your garments like works of art. Handle them with such care and explain the process thoroughly. I am so thankful to know that my daughter’s dress can be saved and worn again someday.

Wow, I continue to be impressed by Pat and her team at Oakwood Cleaners. I gave them the tough job of cleaning and preserving my daughter’s Monique Lhuillier wedding dress and they went above and beyond! Not only was their customer service top-notch, but I was worried about the hemline which was stained from the yard and they were able to get it looking like-new. I would recommend using Oakwood to clean and preserve any delicate/precious garments.

I was so excited to find a place to get my wedding dresses cleaned after my wedding and Oakwood Cleaners did an amazing job! My granddaughter wanted to wear her mother’s 30 year old Communion dress and veil for her Communion in May. I offered to buy my granddaughter her own dress but she insisted on wearing her mother’s dress. The dress has a lot of lace and beading and the veil has little pearls in the veil itself. The dress also is a bit yellowish. I brought both the dress and veil to Oakland Cleaners because I knew about their cleaning process. I told Oakwood I was not expecting a miracle realizing that both are over 30 years old. Well a miracle I did receive! When I picked up the dress and veil it was as if I was brought back in time. The dress and veil look brand new. The care that Oakwood took in restoring the Communion dress and veil was beyond anything I expected. Believe it or not, I just came home from my daughter’s house because my granddaughter wanted to see the dress. I cannot explain the excitement and light in her eyes upon seeing the dress. She tried it on and I can say the dress looks as if I just bought it and the memories of seeing that dress on my granddaughter are unimaginable. Thank you Oakwood Cleaners. You did an unbelievable job and you made a little girl so happy.

I wore my wedding gown on the beach, in the sand, and ended up with food stains on it - Oakwood Cleaners was amazing in making my gown look brand new and like I never wore it. Not only did they make my dress look wonderful again, they cleaned it within an amazing timeframe so I could have additional photos taken. I am so glad I entrusted Oakwood Cleaners with the cleaning and preservation of two of my daughters' wedding gowns and veils. Their work is meticulous and topnotch. One of the wedding gowns was yellowed, and the train of the other gown was heavily soiled from reception dancing. I was amazed at the detail of their preservation process and thrilled with how beautifully the gown was arranged and protected in a muslim-covered box. I was shown how to meticulously handle and care for the dress in the future, and a pair of white gloves was even included in the preservation box to wear when touching the gown. They also did a wonderful job cleaning my daughter's rehearsal dinner ensemble, a white jumpsuit with a lace bodice and train. Oakwood Cleaners did a fabulous job cleaning and preserving my daughter's wedding dress. When I picked it up, they carefully reviewed what they had done, showing me the acid free paper, etc. It was perfectly arranged in the box, with tissue paper used to keep the shape of the bodice. I was shown how to check on the gown every couple of years, and they included cotton gloves for me to wear when I touch it. They had an envelope for all my paperwork, and wrapped the entire box in a muslin cover.

I had my wedding dress preserved at Oakwood Cleaners. It was the dress my mom had worn at her wedding. I knew that my mom had had the dress preserved years ago after she wore it, and that preservation allowed me to wear it. So after my wedding, I wanted to take the same care of the dress. Oakwood Cleaners made that possible. When it was returned to me, Pat gave me careful instructions on how to continue to care for my dress and make the most of the preservation. Taking my dress to Oakwood was certainly the right decision.

For my wedding I wore my mother's vintage wedding gown from the 1970's, made with very delicate lace and buttons. After the wedding I wanted to have it cleaned and preserved in case someone special would like to wear it in the future. The ladies at Oakwood Cleaners were wonderful and really made me feel like my gown would be as treasured as them as it is by me. When I dropped it off they described the cleaning process and what kinds of repairs they would also make if needed. When I picked it up, it looked perfect, just incredible. The bodice and sleeves are padded inside to keep their shape, wrapped in acid-free paper, and gloves are included in case it needs to be handled. The box is sturdy and slides inside a cloth dust cover - the whole package looks like a treasure that belongs in a museum. My mom was amazed and said it looks like the day she bought it. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience from start to finish. I would absolutely return in a heartbeat and would recommend their services without hesitation.

I loved my wedding gown so much and really wanted to wear it every day. It was such a wonderful experience to bring it to Oakwood Cleaners, because they loved it too. I knew they would take care of it in the same manor if not better than I would. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It took a while for them to finish and I did call a couple of times to check on it, however, they never seemed to mind and had no problem updating me. It was worth the wait-the gown was preserved BEAUTIFULLY! I was very impressed that I could open the box and touch it. I love love love that they gave me a lifetime guarantee and I know they will be there for me anytime. After my experience I can't imagine putting my items in the care of any other cleaners. I brought my beautiful daughter in laws exquisite designer wedding gown to Oakwood a few days after a wedding our family will never forget, one that was filled with thunderstorms earlier in the day, and a full moon on a cloudless night as we danced under the stars The gown had quite a bit of mud and dirt along the hemline, and at the bottom of the veil after all of the celebrating. I was concerned that the dress would be stained forever. But a few months later- I was amazed at how perfect the dress was once again! Oakwood Cleaners managed to make the same miracle happen with my Mother of the Groom dress. The manner in which the wedding gown was preserved was absolutely astounding. The presentation of the restored gown is a moment in time I will never ever forget. We had two daughters marry in 2018 -- busy year! One daughter chose to wear the wedding dress both that me, and her grandmother wore -- it is 60 years old! The last time it was worn was over 30 years ago -- so Oakwood Cleaners cleaned and pressed it and did some hem touch ups. The dress looked beautiful! After our weddings, Oakwood Cleaners cleaned and preserved the heirloom wedding dress, as well as the wedding dress our daughter changed into for the reception. They also cleaned and preserved our other daughter's Justin Alexander -- with an extremely long train! Everything was returned to us beautifully cleaned, preserved and boxed. We truly enjoyed working with the team at Oakwood Cleaners. Everyone was very nice and attentive. As some reviewers said -- this is not a "speedy" process, but it is well worth the wait -- so plan accordingly.

Had a great experience with Oakwood. Had my wedding dress preserved and the results came out beautifully. The process does take a long time (took mine about a year) but the service was great and they were always courteous when I called to check in on the status of it. They were great with texting updates when my dress was ready for pick up as well.

I was referred to Oakwood Cleaners for my wedding dress fitting. I had fallen in love with a beautiful, classic Catherine Dean gown in two separate pieces (top and bottom) from BHLDN, and I wanted to have the pieces put together to make one gown. The seamstress at Oakwood Cleaners was so sweet and amazing! She was so careful to make sure that I was happy with every step of the process. She combined the top and bottom to form one seamless gown. She continued the little satin buttons from the embroidered tulle top all the way down the romantic satin train (200+ buttons). She hemmed the bottom of the dress for my height and added a bustle. And she added a little satin trim (taken from the scrap of the skirt) to the embroidered tulle edge that irritated my neck. I purchased a large beige satin sash on Etsy to tie around my waist (with a romantically sized bow in the back and long tails that reached near the end of my train), and she helped me play with it to make sure it was the right size and length (so that it wouldn't drag). I always felt so pampered, and I had no issues with my gown at all on my wedding day. I was super comfortable in it for all 9-12 hours that I was in it. Of course, I took it back to Oakwood Cleaners when the time came for me to have it cleaned. I had no idea that they preserved gowns. I loved every detail of my dress, so I had them preserve it. It is pricey, but it can save money in the long run if the dress is reused. And the amount of work that they put into the preservation is worth the money. It took a year, but that was ok because I didn't need the dress for anything during that time. ;) I am so happy with my dress, and I was so happy with how Oakwood Cleaners took care of it so very well. It was nice to have an expert to trust.

I purchased a demo wedding dress that had some stains on the straps and zipper closer area. I brought the dress to Oakwood Cleaners in the hopes that it could be salvaged. I am so happy that I did! The staff were very friendly and explained the entire process. Pat is the sweetest and kept me up to date with the cleaning process. I had a lot of trouble dress shopping and could not find a wedding dress that I loved. My mother-in-law asked me if I would like to wear her 30-year-old wedding dress. She said I could alter it and make it however I wanted. I took it to a tailor and they helped me figure out how to make it the dress of my dreams. The problem was that it is a dress older than me and it had already been through one wedding. It needed some love. I took it to Oakwood before my wedding and they returned the shine and the beauty in the dress. It truly became the dress of my dreams. My dream dress took a beating during the reception from dancing and whatnot. Some of the original beads had come off, some of the original lace was torn, and the lace hem was so dirty. I thought I had ruined it. I was terrified. I took it back to Oakwood and they once again performed a miracle and the dress is back to being the dress of my dreams. They removed every single inch of dirt and it looks as if they found replacements for all of the original beads and helped restore every bit of the original lace. When I saw it I almost cried. When my mother-in-law saw it again, she did cry. She thought after two weddings there was no possible way to bring it back to life but we were so so so wrong. Oakwood has restored the dress of both of our dreams and has made it an heirloom that we will try to continue to pass down. Oakwood now has a place in my family forever and we can not thank them enough.

I can't speak any higher of this company. I had a nightmare of an experience getting my wedding gown cleaned at another "green" company in Nashville back in 2015. I went to the other company first because they were "green" (I thought they didn't use harsh chemicals, etc) and because they were reasonably priced. When I picked up my gown, I immediately panicked. It was gray and no longer the beautiful white it once was. It looked like it had been dipped in dirty water (come to find out, it had!). And the stains at the bottom were exactly how they were when I dropped the gown off. After two months, the gown started developing yellow spots. I thought my $2500 wedding gown was ruined. That's until I went to Oakwood Cleaners! I was so hesitant because I didn't think anyone could fix it. However, upon talking with Pat, she immediately put me at ease. She is knowledgeable about wedding gowns (accurately estimated the price of mine, asked great questions regarding the material), knowledgeable about the cleaning process (educated me on what this other "green" company likely used on my dress and how the dress was machine cleaned), and was honest about expectations regarding their capabilities. She walked me through how they would treat my dress. They don't use harsh chemicals (while not flaunting this "green" name). They meticulously hand wash all layers paying close attention to stains and also vulnerable areas that may turn over the years. And they take their time (several weeks, which shows the amount of care they give your dress). When I picked up my gown, I was almost in tears. It was the beautiful white it once was, no yellow spots, and the stains on the bottom from my wedding day were gone. Mrs Pat took the time to show me how to care for it in the future, including how to pack it in a safe box with acid-free tissue paper while using gloves and how often I should take it out to check it. Other reviews may have dock them stars because they are pricey. But let me tell you from experience, you get what you pay for. Take them your delicate and sentimental items. Do not chance those to anyone else! Mrs Pat is amazing (I know I've mentioned knowledgeable but did I mention sweet, compassionate, and honest?)! And I wish I knew who actually cleaned my dress. They are all miracle workers.

Not only did they give me all the details about how the dress was cleaned and preserved but they guaranteed their work. The dress is beautifully displayed in a box that can actually be opened! After taking hundreds of outdoor pictures before and after the ceremony, followed by a reception that saw at least a few spilled drinks, my wedding dress had seen better days. I brought it to Oakwood Cleaners a little more than a week after my wedding in November 2016. The bottom of the dress was heavily soiled (mud stains, grass stains, etc.) and I was worried that it would never look like it did the morning of my wedding. After close to eight months, I received a call saying that my dress was ready to be picked up. I was absolutely amazed when the associate opened the box: it looked brand new! It's almost impossible to tell that it's ever been worn. While it did take quite a long time to get my dress back (I was informed when I dropped it off that they were running on about a six-month turnaround, plus additional cleaning time for my heavy stains) and you'll need to be prepared for a pretty steep price tag, I believe that it was worth it. You pay for what you get, after all! Oakwood Cleaners took wonderful care of my dress and made it look fantastic once again! I would high recommend entrusting them with one of the most important pieces of clothing you'll ever own!

This is for sure the place to take your wedding dress! Everyone was so friendly and great to work with. Not to mention they did a fantastic job cleaning and preserving my dress. It looks brand new! They do take some time to get your dress back to you, but it is totally worth the wait; as you can be assured they are going over every detail making sure it is perfect!

You must bring your dress to Oakwood to get preserved! They are so wonderful and I am so pleased with the quality of service provided. My sister in law let me wear her veil, and she also had it preserved at Oakwood 3 years before my wedding. It was in perfect condition!

Oakwood managed to clean and preserve our family antique lace wedding veil which this time had been dragged over gravel roads and fields in Montana. I couldn't even tell it. The dress was in worse shape but saved by Oakwood. I also appreciate their getting it ready for me to take back up to Montana. Great job!

After my Nashville destination wedding, I dropped off my couture, extremely detailed and very large wedding dress for cleaning and preservation. Cleaning, repairing, and preserving the dress was a intense process. The people at Oakwood far exceeded my expectations. It came back absolutely perfect--as if had never worn it--in a gorgeous box inside a muslin bag; the dress itself wrapped in special tissue paper, with white gloves and a certification that the dress will not yellow. The people at Oakwood not only did an amazing job but were a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond for me. I coordinated with Rhonda from Miami before the wedding and she was able to recommend a dress attendant for me, who was invaluable. Rhonda then fedexed the dress back to me in Miami when they were done with it. I was very worried about my precious dress and Oakwood put me ease completely. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Not only did all of the spots come out completely, you cannot tell the veil even had any. Miss Pat has a way of putting people at ease, their inspection, cleaning and preservation processes are explained thoroughly. An email was sent to me when the veil was finished saying how beautiful it looked. I was beyond delighted when I saw my veil! Our daughter will soon be wearing the veil in her wedding-how exciting! After 19 years of marriage, my wife and I discovered that our son had opened the box that contained my wife's wedding dress and had damaged it. To make the matter worse, the dress contained a tatting on the veil, done by her 3rd great grandmother, that was also damaged. The intake and approval process is so thorough that after thoroughly inspecting the gown for tears, rips, stains, spots, even pin holes from safety pins, etc., it is then hand-sketched highlighting any areas that the cleaning experts need to be aware of to achieve optimal success in cleaning the gown. During the muslin preservation process, the bridal gown specialist nets her hair and wears cotton gloves to prevent any body oils from being passed to the gown while it’s being preserved.
