Wonderful experience working with Kate and her fellow musicians. We went with traditional pieces for our ceremony and covers of more contemporary songs for our cocktail hour, and could not have been more impressed with how beautifully they played and the range of songs they offered in their list of options to cover. Kate was also fantastic al during the planning process and helpful with any questions and concerns. Highly recommend!

Wow, where do I begin? O’brien String was the perfect addition to our ceremony. Kate and trio arrived early for our ceremony and played as guests are arriving, during the ceremony, and then stayed after the ceremony to play some more. The music was so beautiful and moving and the acoustics in Battell Chapel was just phenomenal! Our guests are still raving about the string trio! Thank you guys so much!!! Would not hesistate to recommend O’Brien Strings for a wedding or any other event!

I loved working with Kate O'Brien! She was so helpful and was eager to assist in any way she could. She was also very experienced so she was able to discuss order of events and how she would proceed for the day of the wedding. Never for a second did I have to worry about her showing and performing well. Wow was she and the other two ladies she worked with amazing! They played beautifully, they even did the game of thrones theme song as we requested and our guests are still talking about it!!!! I would highly recommend O'Brien strings, their talent was beyond my expectations!

We had found Kate through research online and hearing her name from a couple of the other wedding vendors. We're so glad we booked her for our church ceremony. We ended up doing a quartet with strings and a trumpet and honestly, it was one of the best wedding decisions we made. The music set an amazing tone for the ceremony and their timing between songs and events was perfect. Working with Kate was wonderful, she was very responsive and receptive to the vision that I had for the music. When I didn't know what to do for the candle ceremony, she sent me a list of appropriate songs that were all perfect. I'm very happy with how the music turned out and would definitely recommend using O'Brien strings for your ceremony!

O'Brien Strings was the perfect touch for our ceremony and cocktail hour! Kate played violin with an acoustic guitar player. She has an expansive collection of music to select including pop and rock classics, which suited our wedding vibe perfectly. She is incredibly responsive and helpful and very easy to work with. After she gave us lists of music from her collection, we chose the music to be played before the ceremony as our guests arrived. She is even willing to learn a song if she doesn't already have it in her collection. The duo also played our choices for the ceremony and cocktail hour. The guests LOVED the music as did we. Kate played violin with an acoustic guitar player she uses for our ceremony music. She created such a romantic backdrop for our wedding. We did not use the traditional music for our ceremony but Kate was so great to work with and made it so easy to create a song list that reflected our personalities. She was very professional and is a talented musician. I would definitely recommend Kate.

I cannot say enough about O'Brien Strings! Kate went out of her way to work with my cousin who sang during our mass. The music was fantastic and our guests RAVED about their talent! We were actually a half hour late and Kate continued to play and kept guests entertained. I was beyond satisfied with her talent and professionalism!!

My mother did an amazing job picking out the perfect songs for my ceremony and Kate worked wonderfully well with the musicians at the church. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and touching ceremony.

Kate and her fabulous string trio provided the ceremony music for our wedding recently. Her repertoire is unmatched, and we LOVED that she has so many modern songs to choose from! My husband is a huge Beatles fan, so he was thrilled to be able to create a playlist from her repertoire of his favorites. When we requested a song not on her playlist, Such Great heights by Postal Service, Kate and her musicians learned it for us before the big day! Their sound was BEAUTIFUL and it set the tone for our intimate ceremony. I had to mark less than 5 stars in the service category, simply because we had a small flexibility issue. There was a strict "shade" policy for outdoor ceremonies which proved to be a bit of an issue for us. But that policy might be standard with all classical musicians & their instruments being out in the bright sun. I also had to mark less than 5 stars in the Quality of Service category because several of my guests complained of not being able to concentrate fully on the ceremony because they could hear Kate counting out the measures and changes to her musicians. It can be heard on some of our video footage as well. This may have been due to the fact though that we were in a large barn, and the sound may have just carried. I would definitely hire O'Brien Strings again. They are true artists, and made our ceremony simply lovely.

Professional, on time, didn't give much direction as to what I wanted because they didn't need it. Very helpful with music suggestions.

Found O'Brien Strings on the net...Kate O'Brien was awesome and a pleasure to work with. At our outdoor ceremony, Kate was on violin and her fellow musician on the Cello. The combination was stunning, elegant and added a perfectly romantic mood to our wedding!
