s extremely helpful and very accommodating! Responded in a timely fashion whenever we had a question. The venue offers a very large backyard area right next to the lake where your guests can enjoy cocktails and apps. The inside itself may look smaller compared to other larger ballrooms but, wow, I was SO pleased with how spacious it ended up looking when we had it full with all the dining tables (20 rounds) plus our DJ and buffet table snuck in there as well. I cannot rave about this place enough. Truly a wonderful experience as it should be on your special day! :) You have to use Zillis for the bar and they were fantastic as well. They have a preferred list for caterers but you can also find your own caterer as get them approved. We chose Foolerys catering and we heard MANY comments on how good the food tasted. Buffet is the way to go!! If you’re on the fence, definitely just go check this place out! You’ll won’t be disappointed!!

d was fantastic! The lake views are absolutely beautiful as is the natural lighting from the large windows. My husband and I even went to look at the reception area on an overcast day, and the natural light was still good. The Oconomowoc Community Center was an EXTREMELY fair, affordable price given the simple beauty of the setting. We received innumerable compliments on the food and setting. I'd always wanted a simple, but elegant and fun, setting that I could dress up or down to my taste, and this location was perfect. HIGHLY recommend it!

Never told us we'd have to purchase extra rooms for the wedding party to get dressed in before the ceremony. Found that out the day before at rehearsal. My wedding planner negotiated a room for us and was told it would be $250. I was later told by the same person it was $100 for the room. So much for honesty. They didn't even spell my last name right on the sign pointing our guests upstairs. I had guests tell me they were laughing at that. NOT FUNNY for the bride and groom. Just embarrassing. I called the venue coordinater about the issues after the ceremony and she blamed it all on me. Completely unprofessional and lacking any integrity. Overall a terrible experience and would never recommend this venue to anyone. Go somewhere else if you don't want your special day full of even more stress you don't need and wouldn't have at a venue run by people even somewhat competent.

e live nearby and wanted a reception venue that wasn’t the standard hotel or golf course that most people do, and this fit our needs exactly. We loved the large windows, high ceilings, and view of the lake. Unfortunately, there were a couple things that prevent us from giving this venue a prefect rating. One was that we had to pay by the hour (including set-up and take-down) and had to hire someone to put up our reception decorations because we didn’t have access to the space until 2 hours before our reception started. Luckily, we could drop off our decorations there the day before, which was awesome. Secondly, even though we could use our choice caterer for food, we had to use Zilli Hospitality Group for our beverages. They are very expensive with few options and we did encounter some problems with them that night, but that wasn’t Paige or the OCC’s fault. Despite these things, this was a great venue for a unique reception. Highly recommend.

or our bar service and didn't have a great experience with Zillis, who we had to use. However, that was the only downfall of the OCC. We loved how open the space felt and the view of the lake. All of the staff we encountered there were outstanding. Paige was the person I worked with the most and she was so flexible and caring. She answered all of my numerous emails and got back to me in a timely manner. She made the wedding planning process less stressful because of her expertise and efficiency. And even on the weekend of the wedding, when the weather did not go as planned, she worked with us to come up with an alternate option that pleased everyone. We are so grateful for Paige and her staff at the OCC for making our day special.

stions we had. -We got a lot of compliments on the venue, as it is a very pretty view looking out onto the lake, and the building itself is very clean and still looks very new. -Perfect area out back for cocktail hour on the covered patio and lawn. -We could choose to use any caterer we wanted as well. -Lots of windows and natural light -Great bar area -Had a nice 2nd floor outdoor patio area off the main room for guests to get some fresh air -High end caterers kitchen Cons: -Zilli is the only company that holds a liquor license there, so we were forced to go with them for alcohol. They did great, just a bit pricey. -No open flames aloud, so no real candles -Had to pay per hour to rent the room during set up and clean up hours.

c beach next door. We were able to rent chairs directly from the venue which was a huge bonus and the landscaping work they have done is absolutely beautiful. Our guests still talk about how beautiful our venue was. The staff was very helpful and Paige was excellent to work with. She was very responsive via email and phone, working with us to make sure everything was just right on our big day. She coordinated with all of our vendors, really helping everything to go smoothly. It's a beautiful venue, great for weddings and events of all sizes. Highly recommend!

bring our own food since we wanted cultural food, true to our ethnic background. It's hard to find a beautiful venue big enough for our guests and to allow that. This place had everything we were looking for. The bonus was the lake and the outdoor balcony. Working with Paige and Jennifer was an ease! They were accommodating and flexible as much as they could be. Paige made it very easy for me and kept in contact the whole time. On the wedding day, my people did not have any problems with the staff. All of the staff were accommodating to our needs and responded fast. I loved the lady who maintained the reception hall, I didn't get her name, but she was just a sweetheart with the warmest smile. The only small downfall is that because the place is so new, there are a lot of decoration regulations such as no flower petals inside, no tape on the walls, etc. For the most part, the building is very lit during the day and the lake makes up for any decoration part. Also, during the reception, the music system through the walls didn't connect to our laptop. So we had to bring in our amp from the ceremony. Not sure if that was our laptop or the system, but that was a bummer. The mics didn't seem to be as loud as they could have either. Other than those minor things, I loved the building and the staff. Oconomowoc is beautiful and the public was courteous to our outdoor ceremony. No one was really at the beach, so we lucked out. A boat approached our dock, but no one really noticed them. Our guests came to about 190, and no one complained about parking. Everyone only had good things to say about this venue. And they loved the balcony I would recommend this place anyone!

got married on the lawn by the lake, and it worked out perfectly for our guests to walk right upstairs following the ceremony. Pagie is GREAT and amazing to work with - she made the whole process very easy! The staff was great as well and very accommodating. We are so happy we chose this location, it is modern, beautiful, roomy, and most of all affordable! Would recommend to anyone!

d flexible. We had some rain the day of the event and we planned the ceremony outside - the team was very flexible to move us as late as possible and work on innovative ways to keep us still outside but dry. Pricing was really very reasonable compared to comparable venues. Highly recommend it!

he lake can't be beat. We hosted our wedding and reception for 60 people and it was a perfect venue for us. We would highly recommend this venue for your event.

med impressed by the location. Paige was great to work with - friendly and super helpful. The staff did great with setup and were willing to help whenever needed. There are only 2 things to be aware of. One is the public park/beach next to the lawn if you decide to do the ceremony out on the water, since you never know how popular the beach may be at the time of your ceremony. We had no problems whatsoever with it though! The other is that Zilli Hospitality Group holds the liquor license, so they are your only option if you are looking to serve alcohol at your event. Neither of these things caused an issue for us however, and we would choose this venue 20 more times if we could!
