Everything was perfect. Mike has done several weddings we attended and always did such a great job, so we hired him to do ours. Mike met with us early on to plan, assembled special playlists of things we wanted at different times of our event, arrived early to set up, coordinated all AV stuff for us, MC'd our event, played great music, made everything stress free for us and really helped end our evening in a special way! Would highly recommend.

We are SO happy that we chose O'Dea Entertainment for our wedding DJ! Ed was our DJ and he absolutely killed it. He knows how to read a room and respected every single one of our wishes on our special day (we had a couple of unique requests). He was both charismatic and professional--the perfect combination you want in a DJ. On the backend, Clara took care of us throughout the entire process, and her emails were always so fast and helpful any time we had a question. Our wedding was 2 weeks ago and we still have guests talking about how much they loved the DJ. Thank you, O'Dea--you guys rock!!

O’Dea Entertainment was an absolute pleasure to work with! We hired them for our Colorado wedding this August and they made the entire evening so enjoyable and fun. During our wedding ceremony, an unforeseen mountain rainstorm opened up on us, and we had to move under the tent. This actually ended up being one of our most favorite parts of the day, and O’Dea Entertainment went above and beyond during the transition to make sure we had what we needed. I found out after the fact that they even assisted our harpist with moving her equipment inside as well. We LOVED having Mike as our MC and DJ! Mike’s energy and professionalism is exactly what we wanted on our wedding day. The O’Dea team did an amazing job of learning all about our favorite music genres and songs, and we heard every song we were hoping to hear! Our guests stayed on the dance floor all night until the venue shut down, and everyone had a wonderful time. We literally had a guest say on his way out, “This is the best day of my life!” as he headed toward the shuttle. I highly recommend O’Dea Entertainment for couples that have some special or unique things in mind for their event. We had several things planned such as a father daughter game of catch, a dance performance, anniversary dances, etc. and Mike did an amazing job of making everything flow smoothly. We are forever grateful for O’Dea Entertainment making their way from Chicago to Colorado to DJ our wedding and party with us! They made the experience so much fun, so enjoyable, and so memorable. Mike O'dea was referred to us by our wonderful wedding planner. And we're so happy she did because he did a phenomenal job. Prior to the wedding we were able to meet Mike O'dea personally at our house. Right away we loved his energy. He made US feel excited and pumped for the wedding. He knew what he was talking about and made sure it was what we wanted. Soon after his wife emailed us in regards to our meeting and she always responded quickly to our emails. She was able to answer all of our questions and made sure they had everything they needed. Mike O'dea kept the party going and had everyone on the dance floor. I would definitely highly recommend him for anyone's wedding.

I chose to have O'Dea Entertainment DJ my wedding and it was one of the best decisions I made. Ed was our DJ and he was great. He went over all the details with my husband and I so that when the wedding day came I was totally confident that everything would go smoothly. He DJ'ed for our ceremony and reception and both went perfectly. He let us give him songs that we wanted to be played at the wedding and added his own which ultimately ended up with everyone on the dance floor all night. While at the wedding, I never had to worry to about the DJ, Ed was on top of everything. In addition to the great work Ed did, the process of working with O'Dea leading up to the wedding was also great. Clara, who helps you with setting up the service, was a dream to work with. She was very nice and answered all questions in a timely manner. She seemed to really care about the outcome of your wedding. I would recommend O'Dea entertainment to any bride who wants an easy vendor to deal with and a fabulous party.

I hired Ed on a whim because he was the only DJ who didn't try and sell me over the phone about how great he was going to make our wedding. He told me how capable he was of doing what we wanted him to do at our wedding instead. He lived up to his word because he was absolutely phenomenal. He worked with me on several special requests without questioning it. He did everything we asked him to do and more, and he did it without bothering me the day of. I give him credit for our first dance, dad/daughter dance, bouquet and garter tosses even happening because the evening was so off schedule that if he had not problem solved on the spot, we would have ended the night and never got those in. He played GREAT music, played everything we asked him to play and then similar music. At one point in the night my groom requested a song, and Ed notably altered the tone of the song following to match the tone and feel of the requested song because he recognized that the particular crowd dancing enjoyed that type of music. He was extremely professional, flexible, calm but enthusiastic, and certainly very nice and sweet to work with. If I redid my wedding I would hire him without question. Definitely go with Ed!

If you need a DJ and you're in the Chicagoland area, look no further. If there's a better DJ company out there, I'd love to know what more they could possibly do than O'Dea did for us on our wedding day. Here's our story. We planned our wedding out to great detail early on. Early on we decided that we didn't want a DJ; we had both been to weddings that had DJ's that turned the wedding into a 4 hour advertisement for their company. I had all of the music on my iSomething and the hall was able to accommodate us just plugging in our music and hitting play. 3 weeks before the wedding my lovely fiance' sprung the change on me; she thought a DJ would be a good idea. After my initial shock and protest, as well as her saying she had a friend of a friend that knew someone that had worked with a guy that knew this DJ company (OK, it wasn't exactly like that but they were referred to us)... I said OK and called them up. From minute one we were comfortable with Ed. Him and his fellow DJ (I think his brother) are the primary guys doing the gigs and they pick who does what based on Clara's phone screening (they tailor the DJ to the type of party/people involved). Ed is a Chicago native with a cool demeanor and he can handle anything you throw at him. We talked through our concerns about advertising, the song list, and what we needed to have played, and at every turn, he was cool with it all. Ed reviewed our song list and made some recommendations that were absolutely spot on; some songs that you and I may THINK are great to dance to... aren't. Some that we might think won't work in a dance... will. I gave Ed some creative license; songs I had planned for the dinner he moved to the dance time. Some that I thought would work for dancing he moved to cocktail hour. It didn't matter. I gave him a list of 50+ songs that we needed to have played. At the end of the night he came to me all excited that he got them all in except one, which was amazing; it was an eclectic mix! More than just playing the songs, there were, as there are with any wedding, changes to the schedule. We pulled dinner forward in time, we extended the dancing, we changed up the order of the special dances and the cake-cutting. Ed rolled with it all. We had a child-meltdown because he missed HIS song. Ed played a 1-minute snipit of it to avoid a very important child to us from focusing on missing his favorite song. After the wedding, everyone that we've talked to has said that everything went well but everyone that really knows the behind the scenes parts has said that the DJ was particularly outstanding. Ed did our wedding proud. His whole DJ booth was set up in the corner, with discrete black scrims shielding the lights from his laptop, the mixing board, and the whole setup was as unobtrusive as I've ever seen. At the same time, the music was loud enough to keep the dance floor going but not so loud that it drowned out conversations off of the dance floor. At the end of the day, could we have saved money with an MP3 player and an audio cable? Yes. Would that have caused MORE stress, probably caused some mis-timed music, some long pauses, and made us unable to change up the order of the songs based on the dynamic nature of events like weddings? Yes. Was O'Dea Entertainment a good choice for our wedding? Yes, Yes, a thousand times Yes. Thank you Ed and Clara for making our wedding sound amazing.

I just used O'Dea Entertainment for my wedding and couldn't have been happier with their professionalism and service! My guests and I had a wonderful time.. Ed listened to my requests and really felt the vibe of the whole event. I got so many compliments. Thank you for making my event special!

I had my wedding this past September 2012, an ed from O'Dea Entertainment dj the wedding, he was truly amazing. I have used o'dea for many many years, since we were little they have performed at every major event in my family. I wouldn't use anyone else. Guest were even saying how great the dj was the music wasn't blasting an he played the right type of music all night to keep the crowd on the dance floor. My ceremony took place outside an the reception was inside , ed was not only 1hr an half earlier just so he can make sure everything was perfect an set up ready to go for inside an out. He made my wedding a day to remember with nothing but happy thoughts. I wouldn't recommend anyone else for this job price was right an night was lovely. unlike my sister who dj ruined her wedding due to many malfunctions wrong music being played an using music that was not appropriate . i would like to thank O'Dea Entertainment for everything they did before and at our wedding. Leading up to ourbig day, Clara was responsive and very helpful, Eddie understood what we wanted in terms of music and vibe and offered some great suggestions, and Abe kept the dance floor packed all night with a awesome selection of tunes that all could enjoy. O'Dea Entertainment really knew how to keep my family and friends on the dance floor the whole night! Everyone from our 7 year old cousin to my Husband's 93 year old grandmother enjoyed the music. They had fantastic music for the dinner and then O' Dea Entertainment rocked the rest of the night with songs everyone could enjoy! Even my parents danced the night away! O'Dea did a great job at my wedding. They were everything I could have ask for in a entertainment company. They showed up on time, played all of the songs I asked for, and stuck to my Do not play list. They also went over and above to find the wedding song that I requested. I would highly recommend them!!

Do not hesitate to meet with ODea Entertainment and book on the spot! We started off cocktails with swank, added some classic Chicago tunes during dinner and top 40 and special requested music duing the dance time. The floor was full the whole time and all of our guests, 9-90 enjoyed the music. Mike was outstanding and played everything we requested, including Go Cubs Go and was kind enough to leave all line dances out for us. It was the perfect addition to our celebration. :)

We had Mike as our DJ for our outdoor reception at the Lincoln Park Zoo. He was prompt and professional during our vendors' rehearsal and he did an absolutely fantastic job keeping everyone dancing during the reception and acting as MC for announcements of the bridal party. Our overall interaction with the O'Deas was great also - they were very helpful with getting special songs picked for the different dances. I can't recommend them enough!!

We couldn't have been happier with Michael. He did exactly what we asked and our guests gave us a lot of compliments on the music. Fun, entertaining, kept things moving smoothly, made us feel amazing. Highly recommend!

I literally cannot say enough good things about Mike from O'Dea Entertainment. He was recommended by a wedding planner (who also used him for her wedding) and he has done about every friend and family wedding since then. Every single one of these weddings has been better than the next, thanks to the music! My wedding was on Saturday and, literally, the dancefloor was PACKED the entire night. I wanted to stop dancing and mingle, but I could not resist dancing to every song. Mike's personality and humor is also shown through the day. His secretary, Clara is equally nice and helpful. I cannot tell you how many guests complimented us on the dancing and music and already 5 people have asked for his info. It was the number one thing people raved about. You will not be disappointed!!!!!!

We had DJ Dave at our wedding, he did a fantastic job of keeping us on schedule, keeping a lot of great music going, and he regularly checked in with us on things where he thought we might like some input. The staff at O'Dea was wonderful about coordinating with us and with our venue, asking questions beforehand to determine how we wanted the evening to go and what sort of music we wanted. They allowed us to be as specific as we would like, and their prices were also incredibly reasonable. Also, to top it off, Dave immediately offered to play an extra hour when we learned we actually had our venue for an hour longer than we thought, in order to keep the party going. Couldn't have made a better choice for music.
