My daughter had her wedding and reception here in the library this past Saturday, February 12 in New Orleans. It was gorgeous! It looked like something out of Harry Potter. So much...
history there. The rotunda where the ceremony took place was perfect! The tall vaulted, domed ceiling gave it that extra something. It was also the place where the first dances were held. Again, perfect! There was plenty of room for the reception in what I would describe as a banqueting hall adjacent to the rotunda. It was the perfect place for a wedding and reception. If you wanted to do a second line, the doors open onto a street perfect for that. And the staff there were so warm and friendly and so very helpful - really top notch!
This venue was the most magical I could ever have dreamed to celebrate our wedding. The museum has multiple options, I loved the contemporary style but when I saw the Patrick Taylo...
r Library my heart stopped. We had our ceremony in the rotunda, the reception in the gallery wing. It was breath-taking.
My sister-in-law and I were the only ones to visit before the ceremony, when my husband walked in, he was just blown away.
For us, this was a destination wedding, so we had a wedding planner, and that was the best decision I made other than choosing the Patrick Taylor Library.
There was no stress for me, the planner did all the coordinating with the venue, and that was such a plus because the venue only offers the space and hosts the alcohol (several tiers of options from cocktails to just beer/wine).
I let my planner organize the decorations, caterer and live band.
It was truly worth it to us, and everyone was so amazed.
I can't recommend this venue enough, will cherish these memories for a lifetime!
We had our wedding reception in the Patrick Taylor Library and it was perfect! We were looking for something that was a little different and a place that alot of people hadn't been...
before. It is such a great space that doesn't need much to make it look amazing. I would say the only downside is that the bathrooms are kinda far. However, it wasn't an issue at all. Annie was great to work with throughout the entire process - so helpful and easy to get along with. SO glad we decided to go with this venue!
After a long day of searching for wedding venues, we arrived at the Ogden. We were guided up the stairs to the 120+ year old library, and as soon as we walked in I was sold - it wa...
s perfect - the windows, the wood, the fireplace - you couldn't envision a better space.
The Ogden library was the ideal venue for us: undeniably unique and architecturally beautiful. Our wedding planning, lighting team, and florist worked together to augment the coolness of the rooms. The Ogden is just a cool, awesome place, hands down - both as a museum and event space.
Annie was a treat to work with: flexible, attentive, professional, and responsive. I couldn't have asked for a better space or team! Thank you, Annie! And thank you to the Ogden for housing the best day of my life :)
We had our wedding inside the Patrick F. Taylor Library, and the space was absolutely incredible. A friend recommended it to us, and we'd never seen it before stepping foot inside ...
during a tour. From that moment, we knew we'd get married there. The space itself is so interesting and special that we didn't even worry much about decor. We had our wedding ceremony in the rotunda, and then guests essentially just turned around and we had the reception in the longer space on the opposite side, and it was perfect for our 120 guests. (Could have certainly had more without feeling crowded.) Cat was fantastic to work with and graciously answered all of our many questions for several months leading up to the event.
The only down side to the rental is that they require you to contract the alcohol and bar through the venue, which was twice as expensive had we done it though our caterer. and had brands we weren't thrilled about. The building is also old enough that there isn't a bathroom facility very close to the Library, so you and guests have to walk down a hallway and take an elevator to the second floor to get there.
That said, the bar staff was great and amenable to our specific requests for the night, and nobody complained about the long trek to the bathroom.
