e forced to look elsewhere. A friend of mine who frequents Oglebay year round for their various outdoor activities recommended we check out Oglebay. It was 2-weeks until our scheduled wedding date and although we thought that such a luxurious place may be too expensive, we were desperate, so decided to check it out. The wedding specialist that we met with was extremely friendly and helpful. She was very attentive to our questions and helped us to plan a wedding that was not only better than what we previously planned, but better than we imagined! Not to mention, our beautiful wedding ended up staying within budget and the wedding photographer that we were originally working with ended up being one of Oglebay’s recommended wedding vendors, so he knew where to take the most stunning pictures.

are coming from Pittsburgh, but others are coming from all over the country! They are already lining up Tee-times for golf and making family vacations out of it. We booked a picnic grove for our rehearsal dinner/welcome party for a casual feel, and then plan to have the elegance and resort feel in Glessner Auditorium for our reception. Our wedding specialist, Lauren, has guided us along the way seamlessly. The group food tasting gave us the chance to really pick and choose what we want to include for our meal. The bar selection is an incredible value. We can’t WAIT for our big day. I can’t imagine doing this with any other venue.

uests will remember forever! We heard from so many of our guests how this was the best if not one of the best weddings they attended. All the staff we encountered from the coffee barista to our coordiator lauren to our to servers at the wedding were so nice and helpful. We had some rocky moments on the planning end with our first coordinator but once Lauren took over she ran everything really smoothly. She was so helpful, especially considering we almost got rained out, she helped us prep and work through all options!! Thank you Lauren for your hard work!!

s absolutely beautiful. Followed by our reception in the Glessner auditorium which was everything I could have dreamed of. All of our guests can not believe how pretty the entire Oglebay set up was! So many friends and family keep telling us it was the most put together wedding they have ever been to. But… A very special shout out to our wedding coordinator Lauren Mitchell! She was AMAZING! When we needed something she was right there with us every step of the way. She went above and beyond to make sure our day was exactly what we wanted and more. She was very responsive towards all emails, phone calls, meetings etc. We can not thank her enough!!

The resort itself is stunning and needs little in the way of decorating your spaces. The staff was wonderful to work with from Lauren, who was our initial point of contact when looking at the venue, to Cassie, our coordinator, to the staff for our reception. Everyone was kind, accommodating and so easy to work with. Cassie went above and beyond with the support she gave us through planning process and wedding day. Any questions we had, she answered and then some. If you are looking for an all inclusive venue and a super affordable price point, Oglebay is the best choice.

r over a year, we were beyond discouraged and upset. We made the decision to move our wedding to Oglebay over the summer, and it is not an exaggeration to say that we are endlessly grateful to them for saving our wedding! With only a few months to re-plan our entire wedding, we pulled it off and could not be happier with our decision. We had our ceremony on the West Spa Patio and reception in Glessner Auditorium. Everything was exactly as we imagined our wedding would be, and the day was 100% perfect. Due to their adherence to safety precautions, we were able to have the wedding we wanted while still making sure everyone felt safe. Cassie, our wedding coordinator, was an absolute rockstar from start to finish. So easy to work and communicate with, and she truly went above and beyond to make our wedding day everything we imagined. She was also extremely helpful at the rehearsal and on the wedding day - you don't think about all those little things until someone is there taking care of everything, and then you wonder how you could have done it without them! Catering is included, and we were very satisfied with the food and beverage packages we chose. We got our wedding cake through Oglebay's baker, and loved how it turned out as well. Also, we held our rehearsal dinner and a welcome reception at Oglebay the night before the wedding. Both went off without a hitch, and were such a fun way to celebrate with everyone the night before our big day.

Lauren Mitchell was our wedding coordinator, and she made us feel so calm and confident despite replanning our wedding in a new state in a few short months. We are forever grateful!! We were able to set up everything the night before so that we didn’t have to worry about it at all on our wedding day. Lauren is amazing at her job! She is so responsive to your emails (even when it’s your 100th stupid question)! She makes sure every detail is exactly how you planned and takes on anything that still needs set up on the day of the wedding. You don’t realize how much weight it takes off of your shoulders until you notice how much came together during the time you were getting ready! We got many compliments on our meal choices, which were salmon and filet. The hors d’oeuvres were a huge hit, and Lauren was so nice to put some on our head table so that our bridal party could enjoy them, too! The cake was everything I imagined both in design and in taste!! The baker is so fun to work with. He called me a couple times just to touch base and make sure we were on the same page! Another aspect of Oglebay that is perfect for weddings is having everything all in one place. My bridal party and I spent the night before in a cabin on the resort and got ready there the next morning. The Oglebay trolley picked us up there and drove us around for all of our pictures. Our bridal party was 22 people, and we fit comfortably! We also liked that our guests could walk back to their rooms after the reception rather than worry about driving home, and everyone can see each other again the next day for brunch! AND the groom gets 2 free rounds of golf!!! We are just so happy we went with Oglebay Resort for our wedding!

s are almost all inclusive. I just had to do my decorations, entertainment, and photographer. I was in school and working full time while planning for our wedding. Ashley and Lauren were always quick to get back to me and helped make our day perfect. There was no worry about parking or places for guests to stay because it is also a lodge. Oglebay is well taken care of year-round with the most beautiful scenery making our outdoor ceremony look amazing. Our reception was gorgeous and took place in the Glessner auditorium. We added the twinkle lighting in this room with high ceilings, although you can choose from a number of ceiling treatments. All of our guests and family loved this venue, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place!

our backyard and a place we so often took for granted. However, when we visited Oglebay as a potential venue and met Ashley for the first time – she showed us Oglebay in a new light. It was so fun because Ashley was SO excited, and it made me SO excited to have someone like her on our team! It is really fun to be excited about your own wedding and then also get the opportunity to work with someone who is excited about your wedding, too. Ashley was literally ALWAYS there for us (I mean… she answered panicked 2am e-mails… who does that?! God bless her). Anything I asked about, she could do. When I was sick on wedding day and we needed to make game-day adjustments, Ashley did it. When there were several vendors with several needs that I could not keep straight myself, Ashley did it. When I had ANY question, Ashley had the answer. When wedding day was hot and we needed water, Ashley was there in 2 minutes with a cooler. When we planned a wedding during COVID and felt like we were lone soldiers on a huge island, Ashley was beside us (with her cute mask on). Also, Oglebay is pretty dang awesome, too! The food was incredible. They work internally with a bunch of different vendors so you do not have to. The venue was GORGEOUS. The grounds’ flowers were immaculate. They were so flexible with the COVID insanity and allowed us to postpone to a later date with no financial penalty. From what I am hearing from other “COVID brides,” this is a pretty amazing thing. My wedding day at Oglebay was PERFECT. From start to finish, it was simply a dream. If you are considering Oglebay for your wedding venue, I cannot encourage this decision enough. You will not regret it!

Our guests had a wonderful time visiting the beautiful resort. We truly had the wedding of our dreams at Oglebay.

The morning of the wedding Ashley took care of basically everything downstairs in the reception hall so I could focus on myself and my bridesmaids being on time.All in all, it was an incredible day and if I had to do it over again I would choose Oglebay every time!

is the phone call I made two day's before my wedding. I called in a calm panic, asking about other facilities that I could book that is indoors, and was told by multiple people many times that "Oh sweetie, people book three years in advanced. We can't help" Then being hung up on. I was being extremely calm with what was happening, and the way I was treated - was super off putting and rude to be honest. The venue is beautiful, and if I wouldn't have had any issues with weather, and wouldn't have had to call this would be a different review.

The caterering dept. also did a wonderful job. I received so much great feedback from my guests on how good the buffet was. They also were very willing to work with us on specializing what food was offered and on staying within our budget. They also did our cake for us which was beautiful and delicious. They were even willing to put on special butterflies that I had brought. I am very impressed with Oglebay both in the hall and in the catering.

I already knew about Oglebay since my high school band went there every year for camp, and it is a beautiful place. On one of our trips back to Ohio, we stopped so I could show him Oglebay. He absolutely loved it, so when we got home I contacted them for the information. Words cannot even describe how happy we were with Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, WV. Lori H. was our coordinator and she is a wonderful woman! We would not have been able to pull everything off if it wasn't for her help! Any question we had, she always had an answer or would find out the answer, no matter how "dumb" we thought the question was. Her knowledge of the area and other vendors was extraordinary. She really played a crucial role in the planning of our wedding since we were doing it from Northern Virginia. We would make the 4.5 hour drive on weekends to meet with vendors and to see Lori. I would recommend Oglebay over and over again for anyone who is looking to get married in Wheeling, WV.
