Tamara and Okika are incredible !! The flowers were one of the most important elements of my wedding. I love flowers and keep up with current trends in the flower world. Before hiring Okika to do my wedding flowers (recommended by Moana Events) I was a little nervous about finding a florist who had a Hawaiian vibe but still elegant, chic and classic. Tamara did that and so so much more. It was absolutely magical. Walking into our reception and seeing the beautiful flowers is something I will treasure forever. I cannot recommend Tamara enough. She is a true artist and incredibly creative.
Beautiful tablescapes! And plenty of flowers for guests to take home. Many reported they were lovely for weeks! Tamara designed a look that created a mood, didn't detract from the beachfront view, and included many of my favorite flowers, including peonies. And all within my budget. An artful mix of English garden meets tropical island. Wonderful!
I honestly can’t say enough positive things about Tamara! We first met about a year and a half ago, and even though I contacted her incredibly far in advance of our wedding, she sat down for an extensive consultation where she went through my pinterest boards, my magazine clippings and my vision (which was all over the place). Somehow, despite my rambling of 1,000 ideas and inability to form a cohesive “wedding theme”, she knew exactly what I was envisioning. I planned our wedding from the mainland and something that meant so much to me as a destination bride was that Tamara always made time for me when I was in town. She invited me to visit her studio so I could pick out the bottles/jars I wanted to use. It was so personal and so lovely. Over the past 18 months, she sent me a countless number of options (at different price points). Throughout the process, I 100% trusted her artistic eye, and I am so glad that I did. The wedding florals were absolutely amazing, better than I could have ever imagined. Tamara and her team did such an amazing job. I couldn’t imagine my wedding without their beautiful input.
Tamara is just great. Her company is now called Paiko by the way. She was one of the few florists that would work with Japanese irises (which I had to have for our wedding). She also does ala carte orders which worked out great for us since we only needed flowers for the ceremony. The quality of the flowers were superb.
As an independent designer, Tamara was very easy to work with. She met with me in person to discuss designs. We were having an eco-friendly wedding and Tamara was incredibly helpful in thinking about the best locally-grown flowers to use. My bouquet was gorgeous--protea, orchids, lycopodium and uluhe fern shoots. The only reason I didn't rate her four stars was that my bridesmaids bouquets were nice, but pretty small and simple, with only protea and lycopodium. I'm sure she would've accomodated if I had made my expectations of those bouquets clearer From her pics I just thought they would be a little fuller. So I highly recommend Tamara. Just be clear about your expectations when meeting with her.
I love Tamara! We communicated over the phone and by email regarding my wedding bouquet and centerpieces. I was very nervous about my flowers, as I did not have time and the budget for samples to be made. I sent her example photos and descriptions of what I was looking for and she sent me sample choices for the flowers. She was very quick to respond to any emails and she was incredibly receptive to my concerns. When I actually received my flowers, I was breathless. They were beyond what I could have imagined. My sisters and I attend a lot of weddings and we all agreed that we had never seen flowers so beautiful and unique. They were well worth it and I cannot recommend her highly enough!
My partner and I were married this past New Year's Eve 2011 outside of Honolulu. My partner is from Hawaii and really wanted to get married near home, but we live in New York City, so the entire thing was planned from thousands of miles away. Tamara was fantastic to work with. Really responsive over email and easy to set-up phone consultations with. She had great ideas to integrate local flowers and greens that were within our budget. Talking about money is never easy, but she completely worked with us on that and had lower cost solutions that were gorgeous. The morning of a wedding is always chaotic, Tamara showed up said hello and went right to work with her colleague. The next thing I knew the place was transformed and looked great. Very professional. The flowers were also so fresh and good quality that they lasted for days afterwards and we continued to use them for the post-wedding BBQ's and cocktails. I would definitely recommend working with Tamara!
My flowers were absolutely beautiful! I didn't really know exactly what I wanted so I told Tamara my colors and she pretty much took it from there. She did an outstanding job. My bouquets were lovely and the centerpieces were perfect. She definitely has an eye for elegance and class!
I am so glad I found Tamara! I got married November 6, and she made some beautiful centerpieces and bouquets for me. They were perfect!! Tamara and I communicated by email and she was very quick to respond. She made the whole process easy and stress free. She is amazing! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a florist.
I told her what kinds of flowers I liked and a general description of what I wanted and from there, she created some absolutely beautiful arrangements and bouquets. My guests are still raving about her flowers. She was described to me as amazing and very reasonable and I would have to agree!
Tamara's a great florist and very easy to work with. My bouquet was beautiful and the cost was well below others. I was initially nervous considering the cost was a good difference but couldn't be happier when I first saw my bouquet.
I got married at Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore on July 28, 2011 and used Tamara for our wedding flowers. I found Tamara on theknot.com and at the time, there were no reviews but I loved her pictures on her website and decided to go with her. In person, you can expect her floral designs to look just like they do on her website. It was great working with her through email. I gave her ideas and she sketched out what our bamboo arch would look like with fabric and flowers, along with all the other floral details for the wedding. We particularly loved the hairpieces for our flower girls. Everything she designed was just amazing. I couldn't have imagined my flowers looking any better on my wedding day. Our guests were equally impressed. She also did floral arrangements for our reception at Ola and the tables were arranged so perfectly with beautiful flowers, it was like something out of a magazine. Her detailed work made our beach wedding that much more perfect. She even got there 2 hours early to set up. She's young and easy to work with, you can trust her to design amazing flowers for your wedding. As well, her prices were unbeatable for the quality she offers. We were very pleased and would highly suggest using her for your dream wedding!
Through the emails she sounded great and I sent pictures of what I wanted but it wasn’t what I had pictured when I saw the bouquet. My bouquet had flowers randomly sticking out and it didn’t have ribbons going down the steams like I wanted. My maid of honor bouquet had flowers that were already turning brown. The leis that she got were very beautiful and were what I wanted but at one time she said she had great sources for leis so I don’t think she made them. I didn’t get to meet with her before so I was just going by what pictures I sent her. Wasn’t too happy with the bouquets.
