Alan did a wonderful job as both DJ and emcee—he took suggestions in stride, made timely announcements, and kept everything flowing seamlessly. What impressed me most was his ability to read the room. Guests were shocked when I told them I hadn’t given him a strict playlist, because he kept the energy high, the dance floor packed, and the music exactly on point all night long. We also added the cold sparks machine for our exit, and it was such a fun and memorable touch. Okyne Medialab provided microphones and speakers for the ceremony as well, and we had absolutely no hiccups with audio the entire day—everything was flawless. On top of his talent, Alan looked polished and professional, which I truly appreciated. DJs can be hit or miss, but Alan was an absolute hit. I’m so grateful we had him, and I would highly recommend him to any couple looking for a DJ who is skilled, professional, and genuinely great at what he does.

The piano and violin instrumentalists added a beautiful touch to the ceremony and cocktail hour as well, and we appreciated their ability to play a unique song that was outside the standard set list.

He masterfully kept the dancing going all night and there was never a dull moment. The whole Okyne crew was nothing but professional, engaging, and attentive and I would recommend them to anyone getting married in Chicago. 12/10 rating and we could not have asked for a better music vendor!

both DJ Eric and Okyne Medialab stood out as exceptional. DJ Eric did a great job interacting with our guests and keeping the energy high, and working with Okyne Medialab was a breeze. Our dance floor was full the entire night, and he did such an amazing job of catering to a very mixed crowd. Should any of our local friends need a DJ, we will be recommending Okyne.

, we needed to add things on at the last minute and incur further costs as well as required to meet our requests that Al overlooked during the initial discussion. He claimed to have known the property very well and didn't attend the walkthrough, then decided additional speakers were needed. DJ Alex played songs out of order, played incorrect songs, let his laptop alarm go off during our welcome speech, and replayed a playlist from the beginning after it stopped for 5 minutes during dinner. We provided a multi-hour playlist of songs and heard some songs twice. We provided the Okyne team with well thought out playlists that took countless hours to assemble that Alex essentially had to hit play on and he couldn't do it for us. Upon bringing these issues up to Al, following the wedding, he tried to defend the problems, and accused me of not providing the correct song version (Demo vs. Album version) despite sending a youtube link for a specific song. I would not recommend Okyne services to any of my peers. We did get a small refund for the issues, but that does not convince me to work with Okyne again. Since writing this review, Al has reached out to me through phone and email, both times dancing around asking me to remove this review because it's hurting their business. I've also been told Alex is no longer with Okyne due to this incident. The latest message states that he regretted a member of their team reached out for feedback because it led to this review.

ntro call with Bekah, she left us reassured with their process of delivering and excellent DJ selection/playlist/etc for our wedding. Al and his team also worked with us to create a custom intro to our reception which included a video projection overlayed with audio. The DJ worked with our projector vendor flawlessly to ensure our vision became a reality. 10/10 vendor and would recommend this company to anyone who asked.

Our DJ (Kristian), was professional, fun and kept the dancefloor packed. They also offer live musicians which is a plus so you don't have to use a separate vendor. I had a duo play for my ceremony and cocktail hour. Okyne Media Lab is TOP notch and I would recommend them over and over again to anyone looking for a DJ for their wedding!

Our live studio musicians gave us the elegant ceremony we dreamed of, and Steven, our DJ, brought the energy from the cocktail hour to the last dance of the night. He totally understood our vibe and accommodated all of our requests. All in all - a great experience! Would recommend Okyne to anyone looking for a great DJ in the Chicago area.

g call with Al, it was all very seamless. Okyne Medialab uses a portal which allows you to easily organize all of your music and song choices. We had a few Spotify playlists we wanted to use and we wanted our DJ to cut some songs shorter for our first dances, and they were able to easily accommodate those requests. The night of our wedding, DJ Alan was able to easily navigate some changing needs related to microphones for our ceremony and speeches, and issues with the speakers at the venue without any stress at all. All of our music was right on queue throughout the entire evening of celebrations. We and all of our guests absolutely loved our dance floor music!! It was the perfect mix of old and new that we were looking for and the dance floor was never empty! I would definitely recommend working with Okyne Medialab!

We did a first look at our dinner room before guests came in, and Al had our first dance song playing while we did it, which I thought was such a nice touch. He did an excellent job of checking in with us, making sure the people giving speeches were prepared, making announcements, and keeping things moving. Somehow, Al got even better when it came time to dance. After the first and parent dances were done, Al played a song that got the entire room dancing. He did an excellent job of reading the room and playing what would keep people moving. We had many guests who never left the room! When he played the last song, people were chanting for one more, and Al delivered. It was an incredible moment and not something I have seen happen at any other wedding. We received so many compliments during and after the wedding about how incredible our DJ was (including how well-dressed he was). It was incredible and exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend Al for your wedding or event.

He was fantastic during our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Brad truly captured our wishes for dancing which was one of our biggest things to get right on our wedding. Most impressively, without any prompting from us, Brad took the time to research a traditional cultural dance we were performing at the reception. He had the history together and shared with our guests while we set up. These small details made working with Okyne truly fantastic!

Leading up to the big day, we were able to use an online dashboard to put in songs for cocktail hour, dancing, and special moments as we made those decisions. Al spent time with us on Zoom calls to make sure he understood the vibe we were going for as well as what the technical hurdles of the venue might be. We were pretty particular about everything, and he nailed the brief -- even making us a custom dinner playlist when we couldn't find exactly what we had envisioned. The wedding was everything we wanted and more, and the customer service was top notch.

When I say our dance floor was packed all night - I mean it. There was never a dull moment and I can’t even express how much that means to us.
