You can also make your own spotify playlist and link that to the software! Before our wedding day, DJ Jonathon called us to check in, and even gave us a piece of advice for how a portion of our evening could flow better, which we really appreciated. We also asked to avoid explicit music, and that request was fully respected! DJ Jonathon played all of our love/like songs and the additional songs he played catered perfectly to our crowd and music tastes. We received a lot of compliments about the playlist and he kept the dancefloor full all night! I'd definitely recommend Okyne Entertainment to anyone in the Chicago area!

From the very beginning, the entire Okyne team was fantastic to work with. Every interaction—from the initial outreach and planning process to the day-of execution—was professional, responsive, and well-organized. Wedding planning can be overwhelming, but Okyne made the entertainment portion surprisingly straightforward. Their process was streamlined and easy to follow, with a few check-ins leading up to the wedding, a user-friendly planning portal, and a final walkthrough meeting where we reviewed the timeline minute by minute. One of the most unique and memorable parts of our experience was the personalized support we received from DJ Okyne's owner, DJ Al. We wanted to create a custom first dance by combining two songs that were meaningful to us, and DJ Al personally helped us bring that vision to life. He turned around the custom mix incredibly quickly, followed our specifications exactly, and provided thoughtful recommendations on how to blend the songs together in a way that felt natural and flowed well for our choreography. He even gave us multiple options to consider so we could choose the version that best matched our vision. The final product turned out beautifully and became one of our favorite parts of the wedding. It was such a fun and unique addition to the planning process, and we truly appreciated the level of care, creativity, and personal attention he brought to it. Music was one of the most important aspects of our wedding, and we spent a lot of time curating playlists for each phase of the event. The team was incredibly accommodating and worked seamlessly with our detailed Spotify playlists and vision for the day. We essentially created multiple playlists for different moments throughout the wedding, and the Okyne team embraced our organization, provided helpful recommendations, and worked hard to bring the exact vibe we wanted to life. We worked with DJ Alan on our wedding day, and he was excellent. He was attentive, responsive, and clearly invested in making sure both we and our guests had an amazing experience. When we requested songs, they were played. When we asked him to politely decline guest requests and stick closely to our curated selections, he followed our wishes exactly. Throughout the evening, he read the room well, mixed songs seamlessly, and knew exactly when to shift the energy into a more dance-focused atmosphere that kept the dance floor packed. One recommendation for future couples: consider adding live musicians to accompany the DJ. We chose to add a saxophonist and drummer, and they absolutely elevated the experience. The combination of a DJ with live musicians created an incredible hybrid between a traditional wedding band and DJ set. Their performances during our first dance and throughout open dancing brought an extra level of energy and excitement that our guests loved. The musicians were exceptionally talented and added a unique, high-end feel to the celebration. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with DJ Okyne and DJ Alan. Their professionalism, organization, musical expertise, creativity, and commitment to creating a great experience helped make our wedding unforgettable. We received countless compliments from guests about the music, energy, and atmosphere throughout the evening.

Our super-awesome DJ, owner Al Okyne, along with his team of a drummer & saxophonist, helped make our son's wedding reception one everyone is still talking about. The saxophonist even played amongst the dancing guests, and everyone loved it. So do I recommend Okyne Entertainment Group...Absolutely!

Guests were shocked when I told them I hadn’t given him a strict playlist, because he kept the energy high, the dance floor packed, and the music exactly on point all night long. We also added the cold sparks machine for our exit, and it was such a fun and memorable touch. Okyne Medialab provided microphones and speakers for the ceremony as well, and we had absolutely no hiccups with audio the entire day—everything was flawless. On top of his talent, Alan looked polished and professional, which I truly appreciated. DJs can be hit or miss, but Alan was an absolute hit. I’m so grateful we had him, and I would highly recommend him to any couple looking for a DJ who is skilled, professional, and genuinely great at what he does.

The whole Okyne crew was nothing but professional, engaging, and attentive and I would recommend them to anyone getting married in Chicago. 12/10 rating and we could not have asked for a better music vendor!

Our dance floor was full the entire night, and he did such an amazing job of catering to a very mixed crowd. Should any of our local friends need a DJ, we will be recommending Okyne.

, we needed to add things on at the last minute and incur further costs as well as required to meet our requests that Al overlooked during the initial discussion. He claimed to have known the property very well and didn't attend the walkthrough, then decided additional speakers were needed. DJ Alex played songs out of order, played incorrect songs, let his laptop alarm go off during our welcome speech, and replayed a playlist from the beginning after it stopped for 5 minutes during dinner. We provided a multi-hour playlist of songs and heard some songs twice. We provided the Okyne team with well thought out playlists that took countless hours to assemble that Alex essentially had to hit play on and he couldn't do it for us. Upon bringing these issues up to Al, following the wedding, he tried to defend the problems, and accused me of not providing the correct song version (Demo vs. Album version) despite sending a youtube link for a specific song. I would not recommend Okyne services to any of my peers. We did get a small refund for the issues, but that does not convince me to work with Okyne again. Since writing this review, Al has reached out to me through phone and email, both times dancing around asking me to remove this review because it's hurting their business. I've also been told Alex is no longer with Okyne due to this incident. The latest message states that he regretted a member of their team reached out for feedback because it led to this review.

Al and his team also worked with us to create a custom intro to our reception which included a video projection overlayed with audio. The DJ worked with our projector vendor flawlessly to ensure our vision became a reality. 10/10 vendor and would recommend this company to anyone who asked.

Our DJ (Kristian), was professional, fun and kept the dancefloor packed. They also offer live musicians which is a plus so you don't have to use a separate vendor. I had a duo play for my ceremony and cocktail hour. Okyne Media Lab is TOP notch and I would recommend them over and over again to anyone looking for a DJ for their wedding!
