During the rehearsal dinner she was great at putting things together and suggesting ideas, all of which would great with fitting our personalities. We were worried that it was going to rain because the weather said there was 100% chance all week long. Luckily, with this venue it works in case this situation should arise. Everything was really taken care of and coordinated greatly due to Cortney's help! I can't say enough about how grateful I am to have had her there. She was there from start to finish and kept me calm during stressful times on the day of. And as a bride who likes to be in control of everything, it was nice knowing that everything was getting taken care of and taken care of to my liking by Cortney. It is a very DIY venue, which I love because that means you can make it truly your own. I went a little Pinterest crazy when it came to my wedding, but it all flowed beautifully at this location. I also suggest paying a little extra for the cleaning crew. They were incredibly helpful and took away some of the stress of our families once we left. Overall, I couldn't have asked for better wedding! Everything went so smoothly, it was truly magical and the wedding of my dreams.

We are a nontraditional couple who had a space themed wedding, so the quirky and charming nature of the schoolhouse fit perfectly. In additional to all the amenities being in one venue (and the very reasonable price tag!), the employees at the schoolhouse made our lives and wedding so much easier and more successful. The bottom line is that our wedding could not have gone nearly as smoothly and wonderfully without all of Cortney’s help and guidance. For anyone looking for a unique venue with a century of personality and a wonderful staff to boot, look no further than the Old Bedford School! Thanks to Cortney for helping make our wedding day run absolutely perfectly and memorably. ford School we we were overjoyed and knew we had to make an appt. right away. We met with Cortney Sims, and at first impression she seemed nice but was very negative and talked poorly of the guests that attended an event the night before. As we toured the building, Cortney proceeded to tell us how there had been a group that met there the night before and how they requested to stay an hour later. She discussed how mad it made her and how she threatened to call the cops if they didn’t get out of there on time. We kind of dismissed this, as we were so in love with the venue we did not foresee it to be an issue. After months of planning, our wedding day finally arrived. Words cannot describe how rude and inconsiderate Cortney was on our wedding day. I was completely astonished, as was my husband at the rudeness, hate, and condescending manor Cortney conducted herself with. I arrived at around 2:45 to see that nothing had been setup in the venue and immediately went into a panic. When I asked my wedding coordinators why nothing had been done, they told me it was because of Cortney and not allowing them into the venue. The venue was a mess. The floors were terrible, the bathrooms were filthy, and it looked as if Cortney neglected to clean up after the previous event the night before. When I asked my coordinators where she was, they said they couldn't find her. I tried to find her and did not have any luck. These events that occured were witnessed not only by my family but the groomsmen, bridesmaids, friends, Pastor, caterer, and rental crew. They will all be writing separate letters as well, as this was completely unacceptable. I am deeply concerned for the future of the Old Bedford School if Cortney remains to be an assistant coordinator. It is every girls dream to have a beautiful wedding, and although weddings are always stressful, it should never be prompted by the venue coordinator. She even made me stay until past 10:15 on that night after everyone was out of the venue by 9:15 to do a walk through. She sent the one of the cleaning crew members to come and find me and when I entered she was again, nowhere to be found. I had to walk the school, and finally found her in her office where I confronted her on her behavior for the day, and she ended up yelling and screaming at me! I simply cannot describe how hurt this made me not to mention infuriated as my family nor anyone else had done anything to anger her. I requested one of my bridesmaids husbands to walk the venue with me because I was in fear of not getting the full deposit back which she told us we were in breach of contract and she had already notified her supervisor that we were not to receive our money back. In the end, she walked to the door and told me "Don't worry baby girl I won't be fired". As soon as I walked out, she locked the door immediately. Our wedding turned out beautifully with the help of our family and friends, and I am still in love with the beautiful and historic charm of the venue, but I will never forget the stress, and the havoc Cortney displayed on that day. I strongly urge anyone planning a wedding here work directly with Amy the Director as she is incredible, and has helped make things right for my family and more importantly my husband and I.
