vice is! We fell in love with the beautiful scenery and amenities onsite, but Jen and her team made the experience even better. Every detail was handled with such care - from the tasting, to our rehearsal, to the day of for our ceremony and reception, we didn’t have to lift a finger. Jen was always quick to respond and help with any questions we had along the way. Her team worked seamlessly with our vendors to ensure everything was set up perfectly on the day of. One example of just how above-and-beyond our experience was: our guests noticed that while they went up to get dinner at the buffet, their napkins were folded and table places were reset when they came back to their seats. I saw Jen personally go around to each table and do this while dinner was served! Those small details make such a difference, and all our guests noticed and appreciated the top-tier service. The food and drinks are also excellent - we received so many compliments, especially on the twice baked mashed potatoes!  I truly would not change a thing about our experience. From getting ready in the bridal suite onsite, having our ceremony in the beautiful trees, driving a golf cart into the sunset while our guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio, to dancing the night away, every moment of our day was perfect. We cannot thank Old Hickory, Jen, and her team enough for making it the wedding of our dreams. I 100% recommend booking with them!!

single thing. The Old Hickory staff far exceeded our expectations throughout the whole process. They were so accommodating—no matter what we wanted to do, they always made sure it happened. We never once heard a “no” from them! Their flexibility, support, expertise, and thoughtfulness on the day of the wedding was incredible. They allowed me to just be the mother of the bride because I had such confidence in them to carry out our plans. The bride said the day after the wedding, “Any time I wondered what to do next , Jen appeared just like magic!” She also appreciated the staff's sense of calm and reassurance when she was feeling frazzled. With so many moving pieces, you would think something would fall through the cracks, but instead Old Hickory staff were everywhere they needed to be at every moment. I had to laugh when I saw the first dinner plates being served, and I looked at my watch and our schedule. It was right on time to the very minute! When things got a little off schedule, they would gracefully help us right the ship. I can't thank Old Hickory enough for making our vision come to life and taking care of the millions of tasks behind the scenes so we could relax and celebrate. As we look back on our photos and videos from this magical day, we will be forever grateful for all they did for us!

ents on how delicious the food was! Old Hickory allowed our bridal party to use the space downstairs to freshen up after being out in the rain for pictures. For this, we wish we could give them 5 stars. The event planning was the problem. We chose Old Hickory over another venue because our contact at the time was very prompt and thorough in her responses. We had full confidence that Old Hickory would execute our day beautifully. Once we started to need to contact Old Hickory (several months out), we emailed our event director and received a message saying that the email address no longer existed. We called Old Hickory and left a voicemail but did not receive a response. We had to go up to the venue several days later to discover they had changed ownership months before, had their emails changed, and our contact was no longer working in the same role. We received no notification of this. Once we established contact with a new event director, it took her up to 3 weeks to respond to emails despite multiple follow-ups, and when she did, she did not address all of my questions. This happened multiple times. After not receiving a response again for weeks, we addressed the concern with her and her manager three months before the wedding. During this meeting, we discovered that our event director had confused our information with another bride and had been contacting her about our wedding details. Our event director had realized this a short time prior thanks to the other bride pointing this out to her. The manager asked us to copy him on emails so he could be involved and present at future meetings. He was not. Our email communication got better with our event director, and she was very attentive to us the week-of, but we had already lost a lot of trust in Old Hickory. Our original event director told us we could contact them at any time with questions, but the response we most often got from our new director was that she was too overwhelmed with her weddings in the seasons leading up to ours to answer our questions promptly. Our event director also assured us she would call our vendors the week-of the wedding to coordinate with them. As of noon the day before our wedding, she told us that she had not yet reached out to them. The night-of the wedding, all of the staff we interacted with were kind and helpful. We do not know if the issues we had were with the staff or a lack of communication from our director. She had assured us that the staff would restock our dessert bar as guests ate them. They did not. Many of our desserts sat out at room temperature for 6+ hours and were thrown away during clean-up. The staff was attentive at cleaning, but they picked up my untouched plate of desserts while I got pulled away during my reception for some pictures. When I returned to my table to eat them, they were gone, so I did not get to have dessert at my wedding. We were severely disappointed in our experience with Old Hickory. We initially opted to not get a day-of coordinator because we were confident Old Hickory could execute the detailed plans we gave them. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend hiring one rather than relying on their event directors and staff.

us feel like the most important thing she was working on. She provided clear, concise information & costs so we were able to calculate our expenses down to the dollar, a year in advance! There was rarely an answer she didn't have off the top of her head, but when there was, she never once failed to get back to us with an answer in a timely manner. She was so organized herself and kept us so organized also-- but without ever coming off as pushy or overwhelming us with questions. During the 13 months between booking OHGC and the big day, there were two or three lulls in planning when there wasn't much to do and we didn't communicate with Julie for a month or two. However, every time we would communicate again after one of these lulls, Julie came off as if she didn't even need to refresh her memory on where we were at with planning. It was like she was right there alongside us planning the most important day of our lives, even through the parts of the process that had hardly anything to do with the venue and were more about the other vendors. As a bride, Julie was my RIGHT HAND MAN and I could never have pulled off the day without her. I'm sure most brides think this, but my wedding day was truly the best day of my life. Of course the day is so special because I married the love of my life, but the day was THE BEST DAY because every single thing went off without a hitch. Every thing I wanted, desired, envisioned, expected..... every single thing went better than I'd ever planned or hoped it could've. So much of that, I owe to Julie. She did SO MUCH in the "background" to make our day everything it was. Then came the big day where Julie was our MVP who organized her staff and all our closest friends and family-- all at once-- into the best wedding ever. The decorations were beyond my wildest Pinterest saves. The OHGC staff & servers were amazing, personable, and everywhere meaning if I needed anyone or anything, there was an OHGC staff member there to take care of it. The grounds were absolutely beautiful & provided so many gorgeous sites for our photos. They provided golf carts enough for my whole wedding party to get around. They took care of my belongings, personal and decor, with care and organization-- and everything got back to our house safely after the event. Everything about Julie and OHGC exceeded my expectations. & we are already planning our anniversary party there too.... and we've only been married 20 days!

I had leading up to the big day. On our day, she and her staff had everything go flawlessly. They made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it and catered to our needs on the day of. Their venue is updated and provided everything that we needed and wanted. We were also able to plan our layout of the reception as well. On the night of our rehearsal we were able to bring all of our decor and the staff set it up exactly how we wanted. At the end of the night, they also repacked it nicely in boxes for us to pick up the following day. We loved that it was a whole packaged deal with food and drink. All of our guests raved about how delicious the food was and the drinks also did not disappoint! Old Hickory is a wonderful place to get married and I would recommend their venue to everyone!

We got married outside in the trees, not far from the clubhouse. It was such a gorgeous ceremony location, our guests are still talking about how beautiful it was (and half of them live in California!). Even the cocktail hour was gorgeous since it was on the veranda, and it gave guests a beautiful view of the sunset and lake. It was the best day of our lives, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.

Julie and her team set up all the decorations that I had provided and I was able to view the reception room beforehand. I had some feedback and they fixed what I wanted immediately. The food there was wonderful for dinner! We chose the ceremony site under the trees which was a beautiful spot for June. Definitely recommend getting married at Old Hickory!

Everyone I spoke to RAVED about the food and how great it was - especially the steak and how it wasn't overcooked. The staff was quick with delivering plates to everyone and always kept the water glasses filled. Once the guests were finished, the staff was there to take their plates and not leave them on the tables. The staff was also great with cleanup! They helped differentiate my decor, other vendors, and Old Hickory's items and boxed them up neatly for me. I could not recommend Old Hickory, Jen, and the staff more for any wedding, reception, or party needs!

requently and she was always professional, but sometimes it would take 5+ days to get a response from her. We knew we had to hit a food & beverage minimum for our wedding and we thought we hit it because we paid $6k over the min., but in our final detailed phone call Jen informed us that we had not hit our min by $4k. When I asked when that was due she said, “In a week, so you have time”. Because this was right before the wedding we upgraded our bar package to premium and added 3 appetizers. If Jen would of told us in advance that we weren’t projected to hit our min I would have invited more guests instead. She knew from the beginning that we were anticipating 125 guest and we ended up having 130. Also, she forgot to charge us for the napkin upgrades so when I thought everything was paid she told me I needed to bring a check for $75. We were disappointed when we were supposed to have our rehearsal dinner in the wine cellar room & when we went down to that room it was setup for another persons event. So we had our rehearsal dinner in the same type of room that we were having our reception. We wanted a different scenery for the days. We also got the wrong salads for the dinner which isn’t a huge deal but still frustrating My husband and I also thought we were going to have our own dressing rooms, but the day of I was informed us girls would be in the locker room and the boys later got kicked out of the boardroom to the locker room because of another wedding party. That same wedding party ended up walking through our private entrance all night taking our premium alcohol, and eating our appetizers. One of our guests told them that they can’t do that and it started an argument. Our actual ceremony started around 4:50 instead of 4:30 so we ended up being restricted with time taking pictures. I’m not sure if it was taking Julie longer to line everyone up or what the situation was, but the entire processional party was there. Overall our wedding was great, but there were some things that could have been handled better. The food was great, our outside ceremony was beautiful, and the wait staff was kind
