Thank you Old House Vineyards for helping me have the wedding of my dreams! I have been a bridesmaid in a lot of weddings and I have never seen a more hands on venue and coordinator. Allyson, Ryan, and Pat were there every step of the way and really went above and beyond! They helped make the wedding planning process smoother and were on top of things to ensure a smooth day! They are very insightful on details, provided hands on set up, and even helped light my sparklers for send off! I couldn’t be happier with my venue choice. I highly recommend this venue for any event, especially a wedding! From the convenient rehearsal location at the Pub and the bridal & groom getting ready suite on site, to the gorgeous scenic views (perfect for wedding photos) at the ceremony island, vineyards, and reception pavilion- this venue has everything to make your wedding perfect! Thank you Old House again for making my wedding wonderful!
We had our wedding at Old House Vineyards and we can safely say it was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Firstly the venue is gorgeous and unique. We worked with Ryan and he made the entire planning process seamless and straightforward. He was extremely responsive to our questions and provided very helpful information all the way up to our wedding day. Allyson helped coordinate with vendors and made sure that everyone was in the right place at the right time the day of our event. The bartending staff, Abigail and Lydia (sorry if we messed up your names), were extremely professional, kind, and attentive to us and our guests. All of the staff at Old House were great and come highly recommended.
We had our wedding in September 2023 at Old House Vineyards and it was one of the best decisions we made during our entire wedding planning process. The venue is stunning and the drinks are fantastic. But what really made this place special for us was the people who work there. The Kearney family was insanely kind, helpful and really knew what they were doing. Our guests simply couldn't stop talking about how great the venue was. Would highly recommend Old House to anyone looking for a unique and special wedding venue in the DMV area.
WOW!
I knew when we booked Old House, that we would not be disappointed, but wow, were our expectations exceeded. I have been to Old House many times and knew the family was amazing, but they absolutely went above and beyond to help make our day exactly what we wanted and more. Ryan and Pat made sure we were able to use Old House beer down at the venue and Allyson made every other part of our decision making process incredibly smooth with so many helpful insights and pieces of advice to not only save us time, but money as well.
There is not much you can go wrong with when choosing Old House. The beauty of the venue speaks for itself, but you will absolutely not be disappointed with the staff-they are truly amazing people!
Old House Vineyards is a perfect location for a wedding and rehearsal dinner. Allyson Kearney is terrific! We had to pay an extra fee for her wedding coordinator services and she was worth every cent. She worked both our rehearsal and wedding from beginning to end. Being a first time mother of the bride, you want the day to go perfectly. Thanks to Allyson and Wally Rice Catering, the wedding was absolutely spectacular. The location is beautiful, peaceful and personal. The bridal suite at the farmhouse was perfect....plenty of room and large bathroom. There was also another room with plenty of seating and tables. The farmhouse is very nice and clean, as well as the pavilion, restrooms and the grounds. The Kearney’s keep it very well maintained and first class. I highly recommend you visit Old House and tour the grounds. You will not be disappointed. Allyson and her husband are very accommodating to your needs and you will be well taken care of without any worries. We are now big fans...and the wine is out of this world.
You may also want to contact Chef Wally Rice (Rice Catering) for his services. He is a fantastic chef and the food was absolutely delicious. He is very creative in his food presentation and table settings. All we kept saying was, “wow.” Our guests are still taking about it. He and his staff were very attentive to our guests and their needs. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Allyson and Chef Wally for your hard work and efforts in making our daughter’s amazing.
Old House Vineyards is the PERFECT venue. First off, the grounds are beautiful, the wine is amazing, and Allyson is the best. We opted to use Allyson as our day of coordinator, and it was worth every penny. I wasn't planning this wedding locally, so Allyson was able to meet with the caterers during the walkthrough to go over all the details in my stead. She was immensely helpful, flexible with requests, and responsive to any questions I had. All of our guests were blown away by how stunning Old House Vineyards was at our Sept. 2017 wedding. We used the island for the ceremony as well as the pavilion for the reception, and there's also a bridal suite with full bathroom in the upstairs portion of the house itself. If Old House Vineyards is on your lists of possibilities definitely stop by to look at in person, most of the time Allyson is there pouring tastings if you have any questions!
We had out wedding at Old House in September and it was lovely! The venue is beautiful and unique. Even though it rained on our big day, we were able to keep the ceremony outside and the reception was in the pavilion as planned.
I highly recommend you spend the money for the day of coordinator. It was so helpful for us. We met with her several times before the wedding to go over all the details and the day before the wedding, there was hardly anything for us to do because she had everything taken care of. Totally worth the peace of mind.
AMAZING. My husband and I had our wedding reception at Old House Vineyards. It was absolutely PERFECT!!! Allyson (the owner) answered all of my questions (and I had ALOT!) and was a huge help. The staff were very accommodating as well. Everyone was so nice and the wines were GREAT! It was a beautiful Sept. day (just before harvest so all of the grapes looked great on the vines!). My husband and I got to walk down the isle of Marigolds to the reception which made for great pictures. Really though, the whole property is great for so many different photo opportunities- from the beautiful island, to the fireplace, the pavilion, new WW2 distillery, old house, driveway, and more! The walk bridge to the island and land surrounding the island is gorgeous. We had our cocktail hour there and it was perfect. They even have a love lock chain on the island where my husband and I put our lock. The pavilion looked great with our decorations and we had more than enough room to celebrate with our 100 people. We'll definitely be back and would do it all over again if we could!! Thanks Old House! Cheers!
First of all, the setting is gorgeous: an island on a pond where you get married with rolling vineyard and hills for the backdrop. It couldn't get any more idyllic. On top of that, the owners went out of their way to make our experience there spectacular. Answering a million questions, giving us advice, and collecting our odds and ends and having it in one spot for us to pick up in the morning are just a few of the things that they did to really help us out throughout the process. Almost all of our guests were from out of town and they could not stop gushing about how romantic and beautiful the vineyard was for a wedding. The pavilion gave us plenty of room for the reception and was just as nice, if not better, than any ballroom or indoor venue we were looking at. There are so many great places for pictures as well. Our photographer used the natural beauty of the place to capture some amazing shots. All-in-all I was extremely pleased with our choice to get married here. P.S. Their wine is excellent too!
The vineyard is absolutely beautiful! That being said, we made the mistake of paying the extra $650 for Allyson to be the day of coordinator. My husband even asked what all that included as we did not want to have to talk or deal with any of our vendors the morning of our wedding. We wanted to be able to relax and enjoy getting ready with our family and bridal party. Anytime my family or anyone in our bridal party tried looking for Allyson because they were tired of doing what we paid her to do, she was found at the outside back patio doing wine tastings for other customers that were not even our wedding guests. When you have all of your groomsmen pissed off with the service, you know something is wrong! I saw her once when she came upstairs because my brother was looking for her. We had to run around talking and helping vendors of where to go instead of enjoying getting ready. We wasted our money on someone who was more concerned about wine tastings than our wedding. If you can not handle having a wedding and the wine tastings open at the same time, then don't have them. If you are short staff, a wedding should not get the short end of the stick as we have paid good money to have a very special day there. I guess has they have gotten more popular the service they provided for weddings has gone downhill. She did come down right before our ceremony to finally help but that was not the reason we paid the extra money, we could have done that ourselves. I wish we would have paid a day of coordinator outside of Old House because their entire focus would have been on our wedding and not wine tastings!! We emailed Allyson after the fact to tell her our disappointment and she replied with a bunch of excuses. Also stating basically the only reason she(the owner) answered any of my questions throughout the planning was because we paid the $650 for a day of coordinator. So the almost $7k that we paid just to use the vineyard, doesn't cover answering questions about your vineyard? The fact that we paid her to do a job and still had to the one thing we did not want to have to worry about on our special day, definitely caused a lot of stress the morning of our wedding and there is no getting those moments back. We asked for a refund of the money spent on her being our coordinator and she does not feel like she did anything wrong and refuses to even try to make this right. Oh, also know that if they have a wedding the day before, they have no where to store any of your decorations meaning you have to bring them the day of. She fails to mention that when booking the vineyard, so do your research to know which questions to ask before booking.
We loved this place from our first visit! It is beautiful and the owners are extremely nice, easy to work with, and go above and beyond to help out! We were looking for an outdoor space with an inside reception space close to Northern Va. We visited quite a few places before finding this one and we couldn't have made a better choice!
We found this place by chance back in 2010, and we booked it on our second visit. The wine is incredible and the atmosphere is just wonderful. There is something for everyone at Old House from the island ceremony, to the fireplace patio cocktail hour, to the screened pavilion with a romantic setting. Allyson, the owner, is wonderful. She helped us every step of the way and put us in contact with our caterer. She really made our wedding more then we could have ever thought. The bridal party and I got ready upstairs in their Old House in a gorgeous lounge area with just a little sparkling wine to settle the nerves.
The traditions at Old House made our wedding unique and we heard nothing but compliments on the setting. I would recommend Old House to everyone not just those getting married. Allyson and her husband continue to amaze and are always introducing now things to the vineyards.
We got married in October and while it was a little chilly the dancing inside and the fireplace outside made it the perfect fall wedding!
Old House Vineyards was a fantastic wedding venue for us. It was the first place we visited in person and, after seeing the beautiful island, pavilion, and scenery (and sampling the wine), we immediately knew we had our venue. They are clearly invested in making this place a great venue and are continuously enhancing their property.
Allyson was great to work with. She and her family are super flexible, responsive, down to earth, and eager to please. Unfortunately, our ceremony on the island got rained out but she worked with the caterers to move it to the pavilion which turned out working very well. And, of course, the wine is great !
We had our outdoor ceremony at Old House Vineyards in Culpeper, VA on their beautiful man-made island at the end of the vineyard. Getting married in September, the grapes were full bloom, and the place was beautiful. Not only is a great site, the wine is very good as well! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. They also offer an outdoor reception pavilion, however we wanted an indoor reception and therefore only had our ceremony there.
