After our wedding ceremony this past October, we took pictures at the Old Westbury Gardens. It was easy to obtain the permit and we had such a gorgeous day! On the day of, the staf...
f was so helpful and kind. The grounds and mansion are stunning! You get a classy, traditional vibe and your pictures will come out incredible!! The gardens are so magical!! Definitely make a stop here for some epic and romantic wedding photos!!
Run elsewhere! Mercedes, their new permit person is an absolute horror. Disorganized, unprofessional, and absolutely rude. After months of trying to secure the permit, she reaches ...
out to me 2 weeks before my wedding to let me know that I have no permit and no wedding portrait location. Instead of any helpful support or suggestions, she suggests that I push off the wedding date.
Beautiful place, maybe hire someone who can actually handle responsibility.
Our wedding was March 6, 2020. In order to take photos here you have to speak with Kim to obtain a permit was such a delight. She was always very kind and positive when we spoke al...
though it was not sure if we would be able to obtain the permit since the house is being restored. We got lucky and we were given the permit and also because of the time of year we were allowed in the house if it rained - which it did! i am a little upset i only have 1 photo outside but the house is so beautiful and so well kept that those photos still came out gorgeous!!! i was in the red room while my now husband was in an all window room and both just came out so perfect ! thank you so much Kim and Old Westbury Gardens for making our wish come true for our wedding day!
Beautiful place to have your ceremony.. Acccomdating to all of our needs. We have the most beautiful wedding photos.
On a scale from A+ to F I would overall give my experience a B+. We came here after our ceremony to take our formal wedding pictures.
A few things about the gardens. The gardens a...
nd grounds themselves are stunning. Plenty of places to take pictures. We wanted to photograph here for the Gatsby/old school vibe of the mansion as well as to provide us with a potential indoor space for pictures in case of inclement weather. I was a little disappointed that when we showed up there was really ugly blue scaffolding on the back of the mansion (the side that faces the main lawn), given this was really what I would have considered the “money shot.”
I was not prepared to walk as much as we did. I knew we had to walk, but really prepare to walk what seemed like a mile in your heels ladies! An amenity that they could add on would be a golf cart or something for the bride and groom as it was almost like a workout! (I certainly would have paid for such an upgrade) Given it had rained earlier in the week, the ground was very soft. My bridesmaids even had heel protector/stabilizers on and they were breaking.
We have many beautiful and breath taking pictures from the grounds and we could not be more thankful for that.
While Nancy may be intimidating to some, I won her over and made her my wedding companion. She handles the rentals for Old Westbury Gardens Orchard Hill house, the gardens themselv...
es, and the catering. If you have your wedding with OWG Nancy will be your main point of contact. She helped us to create the day we dreamed of from the lighting, dance floor, and menus to the table arrangements and much more. Again, she can be a little rough around the edges, but she didn’t try to hustle me. She was open and honest throughout the planning process and was always happy to help me in any way she could (especially via text! Very efficient!). Where Nancy really shines is through her restaurant/ catering company Thyme which provides the food and drinks for OWG events. The food was absolutely delicious. I’m still dreaming about Mac and cheese balls (they were Nancy’s homemade recipe transformed into a appetizer).
