Olive Wood Pizza

This pizza is amazing!!!! Just used Olive Wood Pizza for my wedding this November and they were incredible. I am from LA and my husband is from the east coast and we both loved the food. I wish they had a restaurant because I would go there for dinner...often! Great to work with, best prices out of any pizza company we looked into for our wedding, and it tastes amazing. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Olive wood was amazing! Zero stress, very flexible and easy to work with! Ian is outstanding and runs a great operation. The pizza was delicious and everyone enjoyed the variety of pizza and salad! We were so glad to have olive wood as part of our big day! We even cut a pizza instead of cake! Yum City!!

Your pizza's and your team were the "hit" of our party! EVERYONE complemented us on the food. These guys set up quickly and deliver non stop. We especially loved the jalapeño and bacon pizza. Also fun to watch as they toss the dough in the air and bake in right front of you. If you need a caterer these guys are your pick!

My husband and I got married at Point Vicente Interpretive Center in Palos Verdes, CA. We wanted to do something different for our catering and decided on pizza. We met with several vendors and had tastings, but Ian with Olive Wood seemed to really understand the vibe we were going for. He also was SO attentive - all of my emails were responded to within a day, usually less than that. The package he offers is superbly priced (we rented tableware but he offers disposable) - you end up getting 7 different types of pizza: Cheese, Margherita, and Pepperoni are automatically part of the package, and then we chose a Veggie, Jalapeno, Pesto Chicken, and LSP. We added on a pasta salad, arugula salad, and meatballs to also have on the dinner buffet, and then we had three tray-passed appetizers as well: Tartine, Mini Tacos, and Bruschetta. Everyone LOVED the meal and I can't thank Ian enough for providing such wonderful service and delicious food!

So I know all the reviews say the same thing: Olive Wood is amazing and their pizzas are the best. I just wanted to add to that enthusiastic clamour. We had Olive Wood come and cater our wedding with their mobile pizza oven and we could not have made a better choice. First off: the pizzas were amazing. Honestly the best pizzas I’ve ever had. If you want pizza at your event, you should go with Olive Wood. Even if you don’t, you should change your mind and then go with Olive Wood. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting them. I lost count of how many people told us what an incredible choice it was, but I DO remember that at least half of them were talking through a mouthful of pizza when they said it. Ian was also incredibly helpful. He met up with us a couple of months before the wedding to let us taste some of the pizzas they had, and to talk through how it would be served and distributed (I’m pretty sure we asked the same question about plates at least twelve times and he didn’t even get exasperated once). He gave us advice based on his experience of how much pizza people eat and for how long and what toppings to order, which helped us to plan out the rest of the evening too. He was also really helpful when it came to our guests’ dietary requirements: he provided gluten free bases for our wheat-intolerant attendees, and also made cheeseless vegan pizzas (which you should try even if you’re not a vegan; you will be AMAZED). The oven itself was really nice-looking and went perfectly with our wedding’s laid-back, garden-party feel. Long story short: People loved the selection of pizzas and they loved being able to go up and get more and more (and more) whenever they wanted. I’m thinking about it right now and already I want to go back and eat more Olive Wood Pizza pizza. In fact, if you do hire them, please invite me so I can eat some more.

I could not have asked for a better caterer for my wedding day, both in terms of quality and service. Ian, the owner, is very hospitable and will answer every email you send him. He seemed just as excited as we were about our big day. His passion for food shows and that is why we knew we had found our caterer as soon as we met him at a farmer's market and took our first bite of Olive Wood pizza. It was just the kind I like: thin, crunchy crust with just the right amount of smokey char on the top and rich, melty cheese (the kind that stretches out for miles from your face!). Oh and they cook the pizzas in a wood burning oven... On Site! For our wedding day, we chose three kinds of pizza: Margherita (my fave), a meatlovers, and a veggie. These were paired with an orzo pasta salad with pesto sauce and a caesar salad. We also had appetizers for our cocktail hour: meatball sliders and roasted pepper and tomato bruschetta. I can not tell you the amount of compliments we received on the food at the reception and even to this day. Olive Wood Pizza provided a menu that managed to cater to carnivores, vegetarians, and picky eaters alike while balancing that fine line between sophistication and comfort food! And if all of this doesn't convince you, I will leave you with this: Ian and his staff pulled off the near impossible in making sure my groom and I ATE! and eat we did!
