Where do I even begin? Walking into Oliverio’s was truly a life-changing experience. At 15, when I first considered competing in pageants, I was immediately welcomed by their warm and knowledgeable staff. From that very moment, they took me under their wing, providing unparalleled guidance and resources to help me succeed in the world of pageantry.
Oliverio’s is simply the best. Anyone involved in pageants in West Virginia knows it. Their expertise spans every aspect of preparation—wardrobe selection, makeup, interview coaching, and invaluable industry insights. Thanks to their support and advice over the years, I was able to achieve my dream of competing in Miss West Virginia Teen USA—and winning! I can say with absolute certainty that I could not have done it without them.
Beyond their expertise, the team at Oliverio’s goes above and beyond to ensure perfection. A perfect example? The night before my first pageant, my mom accidentally burned a hole in my gown. By the next morning, the Oliverio’s team worked tirelessly to repair it while simultaneously offering me last-minute interview coaching. Their professionalism, transparency, and genuine care make them an absolute pleasure to work with.
Now, at 23, as I embark on the journey of finding my wedding dress, there was never a question—I knew it had to be from Oliverio’s. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an exceptional, top-tier experience
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!
11 mo before wedding I picked a discontinued dress. Agreeing to their policy that if I changed my mind, I would not be refunded, I would only receive store credit, and put it on layaway. I go, 4 mo before my wedding for alterations...it doesn't fit anymore (also know this isn't their fault), after repeatedly asking if I "gained covid weight" they say that sizes run small, yet they only keep up to size 10 (typical clothing size 8) on the floor, and send me to the poorly lit back room where they keep "the big ones." 5-10 dresses in different sizes that according to policy, I HAVE to choose from in the next hour or I'm out a few hundred $$$. I pick a dress that is beautiful, a little more expensive, but I have no attachment to whatsoever, and they pin it for alterations.
2 mo later, I'm supposed to try it on now that it's altered. Guess what...they haven't touched the dress! I drove 2 hrs to an appointment where absolutely nothing happened. A consultant offered to stay after hours so that I could come back and try it on, but the Seamstress (Sarah) REFUSED and kept asking why I didn't call ahead for my appointment!? That's not how appointments work! She kept flashing her schedule at me saying it was prom season. What was she supposed to do with the appointment after me? What about the appointment RIGHT NOW? She could be using the time with me to idk work on my dress? After explaining I could only come on weekends, she kept WALKING AWAY while I was trying to make an appointment with her. And after explaining that I couldn't come during the week and that Im a relatively new driver and didn't feel safe making the long drive alone, she looked at me and said "Well when I was your age, I'd been driving for 7 years." SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL ALL AROUND.
I made an appointment 3 wks later. Sarah wasnt at this one to see me in the dress, but they swore I would take it home. Despite one of the three appointments being completely useless.
I came in, I tried it on, and the straps that were supposedly adjusted would not stay up.There was no attempting at even trying to keep them up. They were falling down so much I couldnt even imagine what they looked like up, and began to like the off the shoulder look, but was told this was not an off the shoulder dress. It would look terrible, and instead I must invest in double sided tape. Fine. I took the dress home and bought tape.
3 days before my wedding, I try my dress on at home, before we even get the dress completely buttoned, the strap falls off of the dress. The stitching had come undone on one side. I did not have time, 3 days before my wedding to drive 2 hours to get this fixed. So my mom did it. She noticed that the stitching on both straps was VERY loose. Barely hanging by a couple of threads. I could have done better. The most expensive thing I would ever wear in my life was barely durable enough to stand in let alone, dance.
I call and was told by Angela that she couldn't fathom how I'd had a "bad experience" that they "bent over backwards for me trying to get the dress done in 2 appointments instead of 3 (I showed up for 3)" I reminded them that had I not tried it on again at home, this would have happened during my wedding ceremony. (Seriously, what would I have done?) She just responded with "Thank God it didnt" and after demanding a refund on the alterations, the best they could do to make it right was $10 because thats what it would have cost for the repair.
I always hate to do this, but I feel like I need to give people information to prevent this from happening to them. I ordered a dress for my daughter’s April 2 wedding date from Oliverio’s Bridal in Bridgeport on November 11. After several calls to the store, never talking to the owner and getting more worried by the day, I am informed FINALLY from a reluctant-to-speak- to-me owner this past Friday that my dress was probably not going to be here. She hesitantly got on the phone when I called to let me know this. I know there has been a problem with supply chains and I get that, but she has been in business for many years. I would think she would have the competency to let a customer know in a necessary amount of time, NOT 3 1/2 weeks, so they could look for a replacement at another store. I love shopping local whenever I can, but I just can’t give anyone a recommendation for this store. I was put under much stress with no compensation for what she put me through. On the upside, Connie and Franc’s in Morgantown was beyond helpful in this mess. They went above and beyond to help me find a dress and get it altered in time for the wedding.
And for anyone wondering. Yes it is hard to find a dress in 3 weeks and get it altered. I just wish she would not have avoided me and let me have more advanced notice about the situation. Also just to let you know I did order this 5 months before the wedding.
Went in with only a few months left til my wedding, pretty last minute. They helped me find the perfect dress and worked with me to have it altered in time for the wedding. All of the stuff are sweet, knowledgeable, and accommodating.
They made what can be stressful, a blissful experience.
Can’t recommend them enough!
Angela and Sara are absolutely amazing! They helped to design a custom Casablanca bridal gown for me and Sara worked her magic by making it fit like a glove with last minute alterations. Highly recommend this store!
Dress I tried on fit almost perfectly but insisted on ordering me one when new one came it the size was completely off took them 7 fittings to finally get it right 1 week before the wedding
Purchased my dress, bridesmaid dresses, and rented the wedding party's tuxes. While I absolutely adored my dress, I had many issues with the other orders. One dress ordered was almost 10 sizes too large after the party member had been measured in the boutique by an employee. As a customer, would have appreciated more communication and better customer service throughout my experiences as it added to the stress of planning a wedding.
They fixed my dress at the last minute and mAde it perfect! 5 stars!!!!!!! Buuuuuut the suits we ordered from there were not what we really wanted they didn't fit, and they were more expensive than what we were originally told. Got my makeup done there and loved it! I would def go there again but just not for suits!
I had a great day of trying on dresses and found the one I wanted, after it came in and I paid for the dress I asked about fittings and when to schedule them. The young girl that works there asked me if I planned on gaining weight... needless to say I will not be going back for my fittings. Pretty dress but rude staff.
Oliverio's is by far the best place to go for your wedding dress needs! I had my wedding this past weekend and EVERYONE commented on how beautiful it was. I wouldn't have found my dream dress with out the wonderful ladies at Oliverio's! They were so helpful and sweet I couldn't have asked for a better experience!
Terrible service. The lady refused to allow me to try on the style of dress I wanted (A-line). When I made the appointment, I was told they had a wide variety of sizes and price ranges. NOT TRUE. 95% of their dresses were size 6 or 8. She stopped helping us after about I tried on 2 dresses. Then we were completely on our own. I will NEVER go back. Do not go here.
Terrible service! Please save yourself the stress and disappoint and do not go here. They are fairly helpful when it's your first time being there, but after you've purchased your dress they could care less with helping you.
The younger girls that work there just stand behind the counter looking at their phones and gossiping. My dad is in a wheelchair and I needed help holding both the doors open, so he could get through, and they didn't have the decency to assist me by holding one of the doors.
On top of that, I had six dress fittings! The first one was the basic throwing a few pins in the dress and you're out in 15 minutes. The second one, she had taken it in in the hip area instead of the thigh area, so I couldn't sit down in my dress at all. The third one she had tried to fix the taking it in too high but it still wasn't fixed. So the fourth fitting was basically back to square one. In the beginning, the seamstress was totally confident and reassuring that she could make my dress more mermaid fitted than it was. At the fourth fitting, I showed her the picture on my phone from how they had clipped it the very first time I had tried it on and she said, "That is this dress!?!"
She tried saying they should've consulted her to make sure it could be done before telling me it could be. The kicker...we did consult her! She stood right there and said oh yeah this isn't a problem at all; we can do this easily. Then she totally went back on her word.
Total heartbreaking experience. Every girl should be confident and feel like a million bucks in their wedding dress and I did not...all thanks to Oliverio's. Please save yourself the hassle and do not go here!
The first time I looked for a wedding dress here things went smoothly. Everyone was very helpful and nice. When we went back for bridesmaid dresses we were shown where they were and that was about it. We ordered dresses and went for fittings. We made a final fitting appointment for a month later. When we got there she hadn't even started on the bridesmaid alterations. She sewed the straps on my wedding gown with huge sloppy stitches. The bra cups were sewn in with a big x on each corner. They charged me $200 for this on top of the $2500 I paid for the gown. The bridesmaid dresses were still to long. Ivory lace was straps were taken in with white thread and we took one dress home with the pins still in it and a blood stain where the seamstress had stuck herself. They were more concerned with prom and pageant dresses. Would not recommend!
I loved Oliverio's! The staff was amazing and so helpful. They have a huge selection of gowns and accessories. I purchased a Maggie Sottero dress, a belt, veil, earrings and a bracelet. Joni assisted with the initial purchase and she was so patient and kind. Malea (spelling) helped me the rest of the time including assisting with all my accessory purchases. I do recommend trying to go on a weekday especially during prom and Italian heritage festival times. Although they were busy on the weekends I still got the attention I needed. The seamstress did a wonderful job and it was very affordable. I am so thankful I chose this shop it was a great experience thank you!
I absolutely loved all of our dresses and tuxes for the wedding! Oliverios took care of everything and were able to alter all of our outfits flawlessly. They were super nice to work with and definitely recommend them!
I ordered my bridesmaid dresses from Oliverio's we had no problem getting them in and they turned out perfectly. Price at Oliverio's was $10 cheaper than anywhere else. Staff was excellent
However, I also ordered my tuxes from Oliverio's and it was nothing but a mess. Half of the tuxes came in not fitting. They did try to remedy the problem, and most of the tuxes were fixed. My ring bearer however never received the correct size jacket and couldn't button the jacket during the entire wedding.
Angela and the girls at Oliverios Boutique are fabulous! From the very start I knew I was in good hands. They were very willing to help in every way from finding the dress, to choosing the right shoes and accessories. They are definitely a one-stop-shop for all bridal needs!
The entire staff was so helpful in helping me to find a a dress and to ensure that everything fit perfect. We purchased our bridemaid's dresses and had them altered here as well. The alterations were wonderful and at a very reasonable price.
When I picked out my dress the we're fairly attentive. However, once my dress came in and I tried it on they could have cared less. Too concerned with prom season. The dress was beautiful though. Very wrinkled but beautiful.
I got my bridesmaids dresses through this boutique, and I was very disappointed. One of the bridesmaids ended up with a size way too small dress by using their sizing charts. The other had one that was much too big and had to be taken in. She was quoted that it would cost $20 and she paid $130. The service is terrible. No one ever seems to want to help you, and all of the ladies who work there are very condescending and unwilling to even talk to you. If you live in Clarksburg, I would recommend skipping Oliverios and going into town to Ever After.
Loved my dress, but the service at this shop was horrible!! I would not recommend anyone to go here.
