When my now husband and I met Olya in person, her passion for what she does and her creativity, kindness, and generosity of spirit were immediately obvious and we knew we wouldn't be able to find a better person to be with us on our wedding day. I won't bury the lead - we hit the absolute jackpot with Olya. Every time we look at the photos she created, we relive the beauty of the day. Neither my husband nor I love being put on the spot or having our photos taken, and on our wedding day we certainly didn't want things to feel staged or tasked. Instead, we wanted to have a memory of what the day was like that felt - well, real. We wanted to take our photographs in the afternoon before the ceremony and the reception, and so we met Olya down in the West Village where we used to live and spend a lot of time while dating. The day was overcast but beautiful, one of those perfect New York afternoons where the city slows down just a bit before the weekend. We walked around our old favorite spots and walked up to Union Square, where our wedding venue was located. I mention this because Olya was there with us every (rainy, muddy, wildly joyous) step of the way. She made us feel as though it was just the two of us on a date, enjoying the experience and each other. When we made it to the venue, I realized that the bottom of my previously white dress picked up quite a bit of mud, and so an hour before the ceremony I found myself trying to scrub it clean with a bottle of seltzer... well, Olya without a moment's hesitation put away the camera for a moment, got another bottle of seltzer, and helped me clean up. If that isn't going above and beyond - I don't know what is. The other logistics? Olya is punctual, reliable, she communicates quickly and openly, she is so easy to work with, and she is one of the sweetest, kindest, loveliest people I have ever met. Her love and passion for what she does is so obvious and we just couldn't be happier that our paths crossed. So here's the bottom line.
