We had the BEST wedding experience at the stables! The location was incredible, the views were stunning, and our vendors really made the whole event. Mich and the owner was incredibly kind and accommodating to all of our ideas! Everyone loved our day and the venue!
Our wedding at Olympic Valley Stables was an absolute dream. The setting is so picturesque, and the venue has a reception tent and a cocktail tent already onsite and included. Mich was so easy to work with and made sure that everything about our wedding went off without a hitch! Would absolutely recommend Olympic Valley Stables and wish we could do it all over again.
We had an amazing experience with the Stables. The location is beautiful, and the owner is so wonderfully easy to work with. I can't reccommended The Sables enough. Fantastic place for a wedding, or an event of any sort.
Do not pass up the opportunity to get married at the Olympic Valley Stables. From the moment we met Mich and walked through the Venue, we knew this was the place for us. Fast forward to our wedding day and it was the best decision we could have made. The venue itself is one of the most beautiful places with an abundance of history! Mich allows the flexibility to make your day as special and as fun as you like! It truly comes to life once you have all of your guests and vendors in place! Mich also was very helpful and responsive along the way. He answered any questions we had, and was present during the day to assist with anything needed! The Silent Disco was also the most amazing addition to our wedding and should be required for all future events at the Stables!
We have only received the best compliments about our wedding and would recommend this venue to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable day!

The stables is such a magical venue!!! We had our wedding there 3 weeks ago and we can’t stop talking about it. The natural beauty, location, and opportunity to make it your own are what set it apart. Mich is the kindest human and was always willing to work with us eliminating any stress that would arise. The tent is such a plus, as well as the teepee (we turned it into a photo booth). I really wanted a venue where all my guest could stay essentially onsite. There is a plethora of lodging around so we essentially got to do that! I truly couldn’t think of a better place to get married and the stables will always have a special place in our hearts.
We recently had our wedding at Olympic Valley Stables, and it was an absolutely enchanting experience. The venue is nestled in a breathtaking location surrounded by stunning natural scenery, creating a perfect backdrop for our special day. The panoramic views of the mountains and the serene atmosphere made our wedding feel like a fairytale.
The management at Olympic Valley Stables was exceptional. From the initial planning stages to the day of the event, Mich was incredibly supportive and attentive to every detail. Their professionalism and dedication ensured that everything ran smoothly, allowing us to enjoy our day without any stress.
One of the standout features of this venue is the freedom it offers in terms of vendor choices. We were able to select our preferred vendors for catering, photography, and decorations, allowing us to personalize our wedding exactly how we envisioned it. This flexibility made our planning process much more enjoyable and tailored to our unique style.
Overall, Olympic Valley Stables is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to host a wedding in a picturesque setting with outstanding management and the liberty to create a truly customized event. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue to celebrate our love.
Wonderful experience working with the Stables. Loved the venue, beautiful location. We loved the tent and teepees, and silent disco afterparty was the best!
We were able to find airbnb's within walking distance for all our family. It started raining right before our ceremony and we were so glad the Stables had a tent for us to move into. We loved the flexibility and ease for the vendors to work in the space.
Would highly recommend!
This place was nothing sort of magical. Olympic Valley Stables was easily at the top of both of mine and my partners list when we were venue hunting. That was even with seeing it before the tent was set up for the season and the grounds partially under snow or muddy! Not only were we mesmerized by this place, but our guests were as well. I heard multiple times, "this is the most beautiful venue I've ever been to", which I have to agree. You can see the love and care Mich has for the place, and Bill the grounds/caretaker had every inch of the place looking stunning.
The communication throughout the whole process was impecable. Mich travels all over the world, and that did not stop him from answering my questions timely or assigning someone to reach out to me if he was unavailable. On the day of, both Mich and Bill were around from when I arrived on site until the last guest left for the evening. They were constantly checking in on me and my vendors to make sure we had everything we needed. I felt so taken care of, and I know that's due to the kindness and warm hearted personality of Mich.
Outside vendors is required for all aspects of your event aside from the Reception tent. This was part of the draw for us, as it allowed us to be creative and design a wedding day that was unique to us. However, if this seems overwhelming, Mich does have a great list of recommended vendors that know the stables well and would help make that process easier.
My bridesmaids and I utilized the bridesmaid suite when getting ready and it made everything so convenient. I did not have to travel once I started getting ready for the day. Both the bridal and groom suites are set up so perfectly with everything you need, including a mini fridge in each. My makeup artist and hair stylist had no issues using any of their tools with the electricity in the suites.
Lastly, I would highly encourage adding the silent disco after party! It was SO much fun, and a unique experience that a lot of my guests had never done before.
Thank you Olympic Valley Stables for the most magical day!
This was the wedding venue of our dreams! If you're looking for a truly unique space, one that doesn't feel cookie cutter or "done before", one that feels exciting, unexpected and wildly beautiful, then Olympic Valley Stables is definitely the way to go. Yes, the space is a bit more rustic, but it's also clean, expansive and the breathtaking backdrop has no shortage of unforgettable views. The raw, rustic vibe also means you can have more DIY elements so you can really get creative and make this space yours, which was important to my husband and me. The venue director, Mich, is also wonderful to work with. He was communicative, kind, warm, and supportive of all our requests. P.S., the venue offers a silent disco afterparty option, which I highly recommend. If your guests like to dance, they'll have the time of their lives with the silent disco. So many of our guests told us the silent disco was the highlight of their night. Thank you, Mich, for helping to make all our dreams come true on our big day.
A truly incredible wedding venue that we would recommend to anyone! Mitch and his team were brilliant at making everything run smoothly.
This is the best venue in the Tahoe area. The photo ops 10/10. The optionality 10/10. The vibes 10/10. You can really make the space your own yet still feel immersed in nature and stay within a modest budget. Mich was so accommodating and was helpful in providing feedback as to how best to utilize the space. I could not recommend this venue enough
To say Mich and the Olympic Valley Stables met my expectations would be an understatement! I couldn't be happier with the venue and my wedding there! Mich was so incredible - responsive, thorough, and helped me reach my vision! The location was stunning. They made sure the entire venue was in ship shape condition! The bridal sweet was beautiful, the barn was so fun, and the tent for the receptions was perfect! I couldn't recommend Mich and the stables more. Thank you!!
Unbelievable venue and unbelievable team running it!!! Mich was beyond helpful, as well as Bill who also made sure the grounds were perfect for the weekend! I could not have asked for more and would not have changed a thing!! What an incredible day!! The bridal suite and groom room were incredible to get ready in w our groups. First look by the teepee, dinner under the tent and dancing in the barn. What a day!!! If you get a chance to book your day at the stables, I would strongly suggest doing so!!
Where to even begin…We chose Olympic Valley Stables for several reasons back in 2019. Two of those big reasons were the fact that the owner, Mitch, was the sweetest human we had met in the wedding industry and the fact that the venue was just so truly unique and the exact vibe we were looking for, that we knew we had to choose it the second we pulled up to check it out in person. Once we chose the venue and our date in 2020, the COVID-19 global pandemic hit, which was torture to deal with as a bride planning her dream wedding. Luckily for us, we not only chose the right venue but also the right owner of the venue to work with. Mitch was so accommodating and kind to work with during this pandemic nightmare and made postponing so much more bearable and easy than I ever thought possible. We eventually postponed to 2021, with his help, and ended up having the most magical, epic, and beautiful music festival-party-wedding ever. If it weren’t for his constant support or reassurance through the whole postponing process, we most likely would not have had the perfect, dream wedding we so desperately wanted and worked so hard for. That all being said, there are so many wonderful things about this venue but the greatest one, in my opinion, is that it is completely customizable across the board. Therefore, if you are trying to have a budget friendly wedding, you can; if you want to dance all night long, you can; if you don’t want to do a plated meal, you don’t have to. The list goes on with infinite possibilities for your wedding (or event) because you are not required or restricted to anything at this venue. Plain and simple. I mean, where else can you find that nowadays? In addition, it has lodging close by, which means a close walk or short bike ride for your guests on flat land! Therefore, your guests are not restricted to your wedding venue and can go back to their lodging to change, rest, whatever at any time for any reason. The other unique aspect about this venue is simply its location. The venue itself is HUGE - you have the barn, the teepee (which we turned into a bar and it was the coolest thing on planet Earth), and the tent to party in but the property itself is so large that again, you have infinite possibilities for activities, games, dancing, music, howling at the moon, silent discos, etc. Surrounding this large venue, are the meadows, trees, and mountains, that are not only stunning but also make for the most epic wedding photos I have ever seen. It straight up looks like our pictures are taken from Pinterest! I could literally go on and on about this venue (and Mitch) because it truly set the vibe for our wedding and allowed me to go absolutely buck wild with my crazy wedding plans and dreams. I truly just had the absolute best time working with Mitch, planning our wedding at the Stables, and could not have picked a better location. If I had to do it all over again, I would not have changed one thing. There are just not enough words in the world to describe my love for this venue and the gratitude I have for Mitch allowing us to postpone and have the wedding of our dreams on his beautiful property. It was perfect in every aspect and miss this venue and our magical wedding daily. XOXO.
What an amazing venue! Our original wedding date was June 2020. Once the pandemic hit, we were able to work with Mitch to reschedule our wedding. He was so understanding and helpful.
When you plan your wedding at the stables, everything is customizable, which can be very helpful for staying within your budget. There are so many wonderful vendors in the Reno/Tahoe area that can help you make your wedding the best day possible. You will have to hire an event planner for the day, but it is so worth it.
The views are absolutely incredible. You are completely surrounded by trees and mountains- it's absolutely breath taking.
The stables was a perfect venue for us for a few reasons. First, there are plenty of lodging options that are within a reasonable distance from hotels, vacation rental homes, to plenty of nearby camping. Your guests will be able to find something to do- hiking, biking, checking out Lake Tahoe, Truckee.. there's so much to do in the area. Getting ready at the venue was such a breeze with the really cute bridal and groom suites. Being onsite made it so easy to get ready for the event. We really wanted to be somewhere outdoors, and under the stars for our wedding. This venue allows for any one to be able to attend your event, while still enjoying the outdoors. The tent that the venue provides is not only beautiful, but perfect dinner and dancing. We also didn't want the party to have to be over at 10 pm. We decided to do a silent disco at the barn, and it was a huge hit.
When we think of our wedding, it's pretty amazing that we had the perfect day surrounded by friends and family in such a beautiful location. I can't thank Mitch enough for all of his help making our dream wedding possible.
We had an amazing wedding experience at Olympic Valley Stables. The Squaw Valley Meadow is stunning, and the mountains surrounding it created a beautiful backdrop for our event. The venue is a large outdoor space that allows you make it your own. By bringing in individual vendors, decor, and personal touches, we were able to create a wedding that was completely unique and special. Best of all, Mich is extremely professional and enjoyable to work with. We absolutely recommend this venue to those considering it!
We had booked our wedding at the Olympic Valley Stables 3 1/2 weeks prior to the wedding date of 8-28-2021, because of our previous venue closing due to the Dixie Fire in Lake Almanor, CA.
We wanted a beautiful outdoor venue in the mountains and trees and were unbelievably fortunate to find the gorgeous Olympic Valley Stables. Mich was extremely easy to work with in the planning. He was so accommodating throughout the entire process. Unfortunately, we were forced to cancel the wedding 5 days prior to the wedding due to the Caldor Fire in Tahoe. After explaining the situation to Mich, he agreed to refund all of the money we prepaid for the venue. We just want to say that not only does he have a wonderful wedding venue, he is an exceptionally ethical and extremely professional person.
This site was magical.... I would highly suggest this location for a laundry list of reasons. Everything from the on-site guidance and help, the energy of the property, the bridal suites, the silent disco after party in the barn, the amazing tent, and the photo back drops... we could not be happier with our choice of location!!!!
Stunning, Unique, Personal... these are some of the words that come to mind when I reflect on our time at the Olympic Valley Stables. The entire experience working with Mich was so smooth and such a joy. Anyone who has the opportunity to meet Mich, let alone work with him, can feel his passion and love for the Valley. We held our Rehearsal Dinner inside of the barn the Friday before our wedding and our Wedding was in the barn. Every aspect of our wedding was so beautifully produced, and so much of that was due to the impeccable beauty that is the Stables. We cannot recommend the Stables as a wedding venue more.
Originally we planned to have the wedding reception summer 2020 but were able to reschedule for July 2021. Mich is so easy to work with and responsive to all, and any, questions. All the areas we needed were prepped and lit for the event. The tent is large with a dance floor, and well lit, so we had no trouble entertaining over 140 people for dinner & dancing. There are so many options to set up the venue as you prefer. Though our main event was outside, there is also the "barn" with a bar & disco set up which we used for a meet and greet the night before for family & those traveling from out of town to the event. The two ready rooms for the bride & groom parties are furnished beautifully. The venue is also close to Squaw Valley which has accommodations, restaurants & shops which was convenient for traveling guests.I
The views of the valley & the mountains are stunning for the guests and of course for photos. Everyone was so impressed by the beautiful setting & fun was had by all.
Olympic Valley Stables was by far one of the best choices we made when it came to our wedding weekend. First and foremost, Mich is the easiest wedding vendor to work with. Seriously, the way he runs the stables truly puts the couple first. We had originally booked another venue that is no longer doing weddings because of COVID and it was in a way a blessing in disguise because we were able to book the stables. Mich worked with us on so many different dates to get all of our vendors on the same date and he made that process so easy on us.
Mich was full of local info/great vendor suggestions if we needed them. He worked so well with us and with our planner. The best part of this venue is the fact that it is a total blank canvas. We chose to keep it somewhat simple and let the GORGEOUS/BREATH TAKING views do most of the work. But Mich let us do what we wanted with the space and we had zero issues getting anything set up. The space itself is so versatile you could do anything and everything with it.
If you ask any of our guests they will tell you that the afterparty silent disco made the wedding one of the best. Mich has all of the equipment and absolutely ROCKED it. SO SO FUN.
I would get married here over and over again
We had a wedding planned at the Olympic Valley Stables for Aug 2020. It is the most gorgeous location - right in the middle of the valley with a beautiful, mountainous backdrop. Mitch was wonderful to work with - he helped with ideas, connected us to vendors and was responsive to our many questions! Unfortunately, due to Covid, we had to postpone, but Mitch was very understanding and didn't give us any trouble when it came to our deposit (which other vendors did). We highly recommend this venue, and we hope to celebrate here in the future! Thank you, Mitch!
When it came to planning our wedding we really wanted a venue that would allow us to express our creative vision and showcase the beauty of Squaw Valley without breaking the bank. Lucky for us, we found Olympic Valley Stables. At the time we had booked the venue it was almost a blank canvas, but as our wedding day neared the owner added some key components to the property. The addition of the reception tent and dancefloor saved us from having to arrange these items on our own. We had a seated dinner with around 110 people with the dancefloor in the middle. This allowed for plenty of room to have everyone all in one place. The property is large enough to have your ceremony separate from the reception area, there’s parking right on-site, and a barn for late night fun. There are even a couple teepees on-site that you can choose to use for additional hangout areas (or you can leave these out for more open space). This venue truly had everything we could have asked for. The owner is very kind and easy to work with and will help make recommendations for local vendors that are familiar with the property. Olympic Valley Stables was a location we had our eye on long before we were even engaged. When the day to get married at The Stables finally came it was absolutely perfect!
Mitch is a pleasure to work with!
I have attended weddings at many venues over the years. The Squaw Valley Stables are easily my favorite! The breathtaking views, awe-inspiring rustic atmosphere, and exceptional quality, service, and Hospitality of the Squaw Valley Stables team members are what makes this venue stand out! This is my #1 recommendation for couples in the area!
The owner was very accommodating. Not to mention the new tent and dance floor options are amazing! One of the most beautiful wedding backdrops ever. The venue is gorgeous. I felt honored to be able to marry the love of my life at the Olympic Vally Stables!
I am a local Wedding Planner and highly recommend this venue! The views and land are incredible! The tent is so beautiful and a perfect shelter just in case of weather. They also have a barn and cute horse stables! The owner is very cool and easy to work with, I always have a wonderful time working here! :) --Epic Thyme Event Planning!
I had the most amazing wedding at the Squaw Valley Stables. I met mich from the stables in the middle of winter and through the 5 feet or so of snow on the ground I saw my dream wedding. From start to finish Mich was great to work with. The stables is super customizable and provides a beautiful canvas to build a dream wedding. My out of town guests were breath taken by the views of the valley, of Squaw and of the (almost) summer solstice sunset. The barn provided an amazing cocktail hour spot and we were able to have TWO bands! The venue site fee also allows you to set up the night before and take down the next day. Overall I cannot recommend The Squaw Valley Stable and Mich enough.- Casey (Bride)
The Squaw Stables setting was one of our very favorite parts of our wedding. We got to be completely surrounded by the beauty of the mountains while still in proximity to all of the conveniences of the Village so our guests could enjoy a comfortable weekend. The venue itself certainly took some investment (time/planning/$$) to make "our own", but that was part of what we loved: getting to work from a blank canvas. I was a bit torn before we committed, as I really wanted a wedding that felt more elegant than casual, and worried the stables would feel too "barnyard-y", but after seeing some pictures of other gorgeous events there I was confident we could pull it off. And sure enough, the space was completely transformed on our wedding day and literally took my breath away. Mich was incredibly accommodating, responsive, and flexible from the start. Highly recommend!
We had the most incredible wedding at Squaw Valley Stables. The space is big enough to easily accomodate our large group, no proglem. Needless to say, the picturesque landscape made for gorgous photos and stuffing views for our guests to take in throughout the day. Mich was super helpful and really let us run with our ideas for set up and design. Three years later, we still have friends tell us it was the best wedding they have ever been to!
The Squaw Valley Stables is one of our favorite wedding venues to suggest to our clients! It is such a fun atmosphere with the most beautiful backdrop. Mitch is so easy to work with and our clients love thier experiences!
This stunning venue is for the do - it - yourself budget couple or folks who can pay to get it all done. I would recommend a day of coordinator even if you are on a budget because there are many moving pieces. Seriously, build it into the budget or you will not be able to enjoy the celebration. If you are a very anxious bride, I would recommend a full on planner.
Here are the less sexy albeit important details: There IS potable water on - site to fill communal water stations, get a floor for inside of the barn if you mind dirt, make sure that the voltage lines up for lighting, stereo system, and toilets, (bigger weddings will need a generator) and order nicer toilets (surprisingly expensive for the deluxe which older folks will thank you for). I appointed a house leader for the blue home across the street which all of my high school friends stayed in together and had a blast. Get your friends and family on Air B n B and VRBO the day you know your wedding date. This was such a fun part of the weekend experience.
Mich was an excellent host and helped us with the stereo, plugs, and such. He maintains the grounds nicely complete with teepees, chickens, and CA / Rasta flags. If you need recommendations for caterers, photographers, DJs, etc. Mich is a well - connected dude in the Tahoe community. He can tell you what other couples have done in the past and make suggestions.
Squaw Valley is a very special place for my husband and I and I could not have imagined our wedding anywhere else but at the Squaw Valley Stables.
Best wedding site ever! After searching and searching for our perfect wedding venue we finally stumbled across this lovely venue which was right under my nose the whole time! I'm a bohemian girl, so this site really hit the nail on the head with a teepee, rustic barn, mountain back drop of Squaw Valley complementing it with a lovely meadow on the other side. Not to mention Mich Pavel is the BEST. This place is hands down a 5 star venue for sure!
The Squaw Valley Stables is the perfect location for an outdoor wedding in the Tahoe region. The stables are one of the only structures in the middle of the Squaw Valley, so there is a genuine rustic feeling on the property that many venues try to recreate but never quite get right. With a backdrop of gorgeous mountains surrounding the area there is no way to take a bad photo and you can save money decorations!
We found the stables through our caterer after our first venue fell through and it was the best thing that could have happened to us. The owner, Mitch, was very friendly and available for all of our questions. The deciding factor for choosing the Squaw Valley Stables was the feel of being deep in nature, but with the connivence of being close to a resort for our family that likes the finer things, while also being close to many lodges and campgrounds for our more adventurers friends.
You must bring everything into the venue, (I mean everything- tables, chairs, dance floor, toilets, power, ect.) but we liked the freedom to choose exactly what we wanted to use for our celebration. If you are looking for a super fancy venue then the Squaw Valley Stables may not be for you, but if you are looking for an outdoorsy wedding with some of the best views in Tahoe, this venue is at the top of the list!
