First of all I would like to say that the food was very good. This review does not reflect the quality of the food but the conduct of the owners. We had a dispute on our wedding da...
y about whether or not Omar's Kitchen should have provided a vegetarian entree. We interpreted emails with Omar as Omar's Kitchen agreeing to provide a vegetarian entree. On our wedding day when we asked where the vegetarian option was they told us we would have needed to provide them a number of vegetarians. However, they never asked how many vegetarians we would have. This would not have been so bad, after all mistakes happen. Except when we confronted them about this they became agitated and hostile. Omar wrote that there would be a veggie option. He did not inquire about a number. We also had a question about dessert pricing that went ignored. Apparently it was missed by Omar's Kitchen although the email I posed the pricing question in was only three sentences long. I was going to post the actual emails I exchanged with Omar's Kitchen but the character limit won't let me. Oh well.
We got married at the Mayowood Stone Barn on 9/30/16. Since the barn is under new management future catering will be done by the management group. This was Omar's last catering eve...
nt at the Stone Barn and he absolutely knocked it out of the park. We asked for a Fall themed menu and he absolutely killed it. The mashed root vegetables were to die for. The grilled veggies were so tasty and juicy. The chicken and beef entrees were perfect. We had tons of our guests compliment the caterer and tell us how much they loved the food. They did an amazing job and I can't thank Omar and Lori enough for helping to make our special day amazing. Lori's Fall themed desserts were absolutely scrumptious. The caramel apple crisp was gone before I could even get any. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer for any size event.
Our food was very good overall, the meat was dry but the rest was great! Omar was very busy and hard to get ahold of at times. He does respond, but is short and burnt out.
Omar's family business was a breath of fresh air. He was very down to earth and honest. The food was wholesome MN style. The price and quality of food would be hard to beat. Guests...
left full and raved about the "Crisp Bar" that was served for dessert for our October Wedding.
Omar's catering was a great choice for our wedding at the Mayowood Stone Barn. We passed appitizers, a buffet dinner and apple crisp all provided by Omar's. We really wanted a fa...
rm to table locally grown aspect to our food. Omar uses ingredients from local farmers and he was willing to use produce grown by my family! The only critisism I have is that Omar can be hard to get a hold of and at times he seemed unorganized. The week before our wedding Omar informed me that we needed a tent outside for the buffet due to our number of guests. This was a little stressful but it did make the lines go much faster and freed up a lot of space in the barn. Other than that the whole family is amazing, the food was delicous and the price was very reasonable.
The food served at our wedding was amazing! We received many compliments from our guests on the taste and selection of our food!
I would highly recommend Omar! The food excellent... multiple guests commented on it! He was easy and professional to work with! All around a great experience.
This caterer isn't anything fancy but that's what I liked about them. You work with Omar himself who is a very laid-back individual but knows what he's doing. On our wedding day th...
ey were prompt in getting everything ready and the servers were very friendly yet professional. I didn't have to worry about them one bit which is important for the bride on her wedding day! We had buffet style which worked out really great but they also offer plated dinners. Overall, our experience with them was wonderful!
