Sahar, Joanna and the entire team at the Omni Hotel Charlottesville were absolutely amazing! The level of service we received throughout the room block process and in planning our ...
post-wedding brunch was akin to that of a boutique hotel vs a large chain! I emailed and called nearly every week for many months leading up to our daughter’s wedding weekend inquiring about bookings and status and was always met with speedy, helpful responses despite the tremendous volume of wedding blocks they manage throughout the year! Our brunch venue was upgraded and the food and ambiance were perfect! The new atrium area is beautifully renovated and was perfect for greeting our guests during check-in! They treated the bride and groom like royalty with a welcome gift in the bridal suite and groom’s suite upon check in and they were able to accommodate all of our requests for early check in and late check out! We were so impressed and pleased with the level of service we received and all of our guests enjoyed their visit to Charlottesville and their stay at the Omni!
Worst experience could possibly imagine. We had a wedding block, they messed up everyone's rooms including my mom's suite who was the one organizing everything. To top it off, we m...
ade welcome bags to be given to each guest as they checked in. They kept forgetting to give them out and I ended up with 35 extra bags at the end of the weekend that were supposed to be given to the guests.
Sara Wanderlingh is the most amazing person to work with--she is ALWAYS available, has a solution to everything, and if you can't make your mind up she is ready and waiting to step...
in. I read reviews about the Omni and about Sara before I booked and everyone talked about how nice she was. I took them all with a grain of salt knowing that I do not click well with people in general and thought it would be okay but not as amazing as everyone said. Never in a million years would I have imagined how perfect of a job she and the staff at the Omni would have done. Everything was amazing and every review was correct. From the first visit of viewing the location to our tasting, everything was done with elegance and you really felt special every step of the way. The cocktail hour in the atrium was simply breathtaking, the food was fantastic, the set up was perfect, the guests keep telling me how amazingly they were treated by the staff. The food was great and the staff made sure I was able to shove my face with spring rolls during cocktail hour and made sure we ate during the reception. People are still raving over the sirloin and jerk chicken skewers. They took care of every little detail, even things I over looked. When I said, "I don't know" Sara said, "don't worry I've got it". When I didn't like how something looked on a plate or a certain ingredient Sara assured me she would make it perfect. When Sara was on maternity leave her replacement was equally as wonderful. I could not have asked for a more perfect day. I would recommend the Omni to anyone that is looking for a sophisticated, fun, beautiful, yet affordable wedding in Charlottesville. I loved loved loved it!!! Thank you!
Great venue, super attentive the day of! Our guests were happy that they could have a place to stay where the reception was, a safe walk home!
Amazing venue and staff. Sara made everything easy!! Tons of compliments on the food, too!
Sara Wanderlingh and the Omni Hotel out did themselves last week for our wedding. Everyone of our guests said our wedding was the most beautiful wedding and that we easily had the...
best food. The food was outstanding, and the staff did a great job of organizing our room block with welcome bags and gifts and changing over decor from the ceremony to the reception. I don't know how you would plan a wedding without Sara Wanderlingh. She is a dream to work with. She is a great problem solver, very proactive, and incredibly reliable. Our wedding went off without a hitch because of her. She is fun to work with and I will miss her terribly.
My husband and I could not have been happier with our experience at the Omni! We mainly interacted with Sara and Chef Josh, both of whom went above and beyond to make us feel like ...
their only clients.
We wanted a multi-course wine-paired dinner, focusing on local wines and ingredients--definitely not standard wedding fare. Chef Josh came up with an AMAZING menu that gave us that while also catering to several food allergies. Dinner was beyond amazing, and the desserts were even better. Chef Josh really listened to what we wanted--I mentioned that I love things that walk the line between sweet and savory, and so our dessert menu included things like chocolate-covered bacon, Thai basil creme brulee, and chipotle vanilla mousse cups! I still dream about the caramelized fennel and goat cheese crostini appetizer. People loved the variety of food and how unique and delicious it was. It was a wonderful touch to come back up to the room after the wedding and find that the Omni had left some chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne for us--such a sweet surprise!
Sara priced out special ordering the local wines and beers that we wanted to feature, and she was very helpful when we decided to purchase it ourselves to save on costs. She helped us coordinate delivering it to the Omni, making sure it stayed safe before the wedding, etc.
Another way that the Omni went above and beyond is that they would let us use their ballroom to practice our first dance when it was not in use. It was wonderful to be able to practice in the actual space (we're dancers). The dance floor was a good size, and everyone was always helpful and prompt in their interactions with us, especially Sara! She was a godsend in helping to coordinate everything...we never worried about anything because we knew that she had it covered!
The atrium is one of my favorite spaces in Charlottesville, and it made the perfect setting for our ceremony. The Omni closed off the area to outsiders, so we didn't have people walking through our ceremony. And I loved coming down the glass elevator for my grand entrance. The ballroom is a pretty standard hotel ballroom, so we had some uplighting to change the mood a bit, and it was perfect.
we loved our rehearsal dinner at the omni! it is a fabulous location right on the downtown mall and the hotel is beautiful. sara wanderlingh, the event manager, was so helpful, acc...
omodating and kind. we loved the food options, the room (preston room), and that my sister was able to play the piano in the lobby as our guests arrived. GREAT experience. we also stayed at the omni on our wedding night.
The Omni made life easy for us and for our guests. They made the booking process easy, and were even able to add guests into our block who had booked outside of it, and give them t...
he better rate. They were very helpful in terms of giving directions and recommendations, and making sure that they all knew where and when the wedding shuttle was arriving. And they were very forgiving of our post-wedding bunch!
All the rooms were great- very comfortable and modern with every convenience. Everything you would want in a hotel.
We had a brunch there the next day, and it was marvelous. The atrium is a great space and the food was great.

us decide on food and drinks with our budget in mind. The Omni is very reasonable on prices considering it is a beautiful venue in the heart of Charlottesville.
