On Board Catering

sband and I chose this company for our May Wedding due to the fact that it was not only a black-owned business that seemed reputable, but also our encounter with the owner, Bruce, was very professional as he ensured that his company was the best choice to host the wedding. We scheduled a food tasting and we were blown away from the presentation and service that we immediately agreed that we wanted On Boarding to be our caterer. Unfortunately, during our wedding, my husband, wedding planner, family members and numerous of our guests experienced many things that did not reflect this business. One complaint was the company’s bartender, BJ, saying racial comments about the bride to the groom which she was unaware of (calling her picky and saying she has to “ni**erate the drink”), some staff stealing personal items and monetary gifts from our guests in attendance, and lack of quality of food, drinks, and service to us and our guests. All complaints were dismissed by the owner without any option for refunding us any portion of the over 10k dollars we spent on catering, bartending, and additional 20% gratuity in the contract. He did not apologize or hold himself or his staff accountable for the poor service and only mentioned that he will take our complaints into consideration. We overall felt betrayed by a company who portrayed themselves as classy, but ended up being unprofessional, inappropriate, and disrespectful to my husband and I being the bride and groom and our guests who expected a stellar service. I highly do not recommend this company.
