worked well with us and was very accommodating. We were a little indecisive before the wedding, but he was able to find and add in our last minute details and requests. He played a good selection of quieter music during the cocktail hour and dinner. I think he played most everything we requested and ran a good playlist of other songs that fit with our vibe. The dance floor was hopping whether with our older guests, our friends and cousins, and the little kids. Many guests commented to us that the DJ was great, and we agree! ating happened a few days before the wedding. We were told we would have to pay more than what our contract stated because there was a two-hour gap between the ceremony and reception. However, I had already explained the exact hours we needed when booking and had also paid extra to have them provide music for the ceremony. Thankfully, we were able to get that resolved. The biggest disappointment was the “Dancing on the Clouds” effect. We paid $250 for this special moment, and the effect was bare minimum. It only looked the way it was supposed to at the very beginning of my daughter’s first dance, then quickly disappeared, leaving almost no cloud effect for the remainder of the dance. Afterward, I contacted the owner, who told me he watched my daughter’s wedding video and agreed that the cloud effect only worked correctly at the beginning. He initially suggested the venue’s air conditioning may have caused the issue, but I explained that our coordinator had the air conditioning shut off before the dance even began. He then told me that the machine itself did not fail and that the DJ had put 40 pounds of ice into the machine. Another disappointment was the music selection. My daughter had provided a list of 10 “must-play” songs that were especially important to her and her husband for their reception. Unfortunately, only 5 of those songs were actually played. We took the time to carefully create that list because those songs were meaningful to them, so it was very disappointing that half of their must-play selections were never played. While I appreciate that they took the time to review the video and discuss the fog machine issue with me, I was disappointed that there was no offer to make things right for a service that did not perform as expected. My daughter only gets one first dance, and unfortunately, the effect we paid for simply wasn’t there for most of that once-in-a-lifetime moment. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend On the Mic Entertainment. I expected better communication, better execution of the services we paid for, and more attention to the details that were important to my daughter and her husband on their wedding day.
