About this vendor
Once Upon a Bride is a private collective of New York hair and makeup artists, led by Emmy-nominated celebrity hairstylist Stacey Lyn Weinstein. Founded in 1999, OUAB was created to give brides access to the level of beauty experience Stacey knew from television, editorial and New York salon culture.
*Beyond talent, personality matters. Our artists are warm, kind, calm and genuinely lovely to have around — the kind of people you want with you on your wedding morning. We believe the energy in the room matters just as much as the finished look.
*Every bride is paired personally with an artist based on her individual style, aesthetic and vision — never assigned randomly. Our approach is collaborative, personal and considered. We listen, we explore, and we take the time to get it right.
*Our bridal previews go beyond a single look.
Three hair looks. Makeup from soft to smoky.
We collaborate, refine and take the time to get it right.
So you leave knowing exactly how you want to look on your wedding day.
*From fresh, luminous beauty and effortless hair to technically detailed styling, extensions and full bridal transformations, our collective brings together artists with different specialties and points of view. We work with brides of all ages, skin tones and hair textures, from intimate celebrations to full wedding parties, in New York and beyond.

Incredible hair and makeup stylists. On time, great communication, high quality products that lasted all day on a for a rainy spring wedding. Stacey did an incredible job with my r...
ehearsal dinner hair, and Carla and Irina worked magic for me and my bridal party for my wedding day! Zero complaints, they are the best!!
I hired Once Upon A Bride after chatting with Stacey and team for my makeup for my wedding on New Year's Eve 2025. I had Lauren from OUAB do my trial and wedding makeup and she was...
not only SO MUCH fun to work with but made me feel the most glam and gorgeous I ever have in my life. I had so many compliments all night of my wedding and the makeup stayed perfect from 12PM until 12AM when the wedding was over which was so impressive. Lauren also did makeup for my mother and mother in law and they looked so natural and so stunning. I cannot recommend OUAB enough - working with Stacey and Lauren for makeup was a true joy and I hope to have them do my makeup again for an occasion in the future.
Absolutely loved my hair style for my wedding day done by Bailey! I had a trial session which looked great and also helped learn what worked and what didn’t. She then also did my h...
air for my engagement photo shoot which was another great trial. She took all of my ideas and feedback and nailed it 100% on the wedding day! She is confident and calm, which were critical characteristics I didn’t even know I needed for the morning of my wedding. Thank you Bailey for everything. And thank you Stacy for coordinating it all! Highly recommend them!
I cannot say enough great things about Once Upon A Bride. Stacey was extremely communicative and worked with me every step of the way to make sure that I was paired with the right...
beauty team for my wedding day. After several phone calls and text message exchanges, Stacey suggested that I work with Gina (makeup) and Carla (hair), who could not have been more phenomenal. Not only did they do an amazing job on my hair and makeup, but they had such great energy on my wedding day and it felt like I was spending time with old friends. My bridesmaids couldn't stop talking about how much they loved their hair and makeup, and how fun Gina and Carla were. Gina and Carla also graciously stayed with us until 7PM for touchups (a 12 hour day for them!). I highly recommend Once Upon A Bride for your wedding day!
Stacey and her team were incredible to work with for my wedding, their work is just stunning! She and Gina did an absolutely beautiful job with my wedding hair & makeup, and all of...
my bridesmaids and mom looked gorgeous too. Stacey was wonderful, from the trial where we tried several suggestions she had, up until the weeks leading up to my wedding where she cut & soft layered my hair, and I'm so excited to go back to her salon after the wedding. She has a discerning eye for what works well but was also so pleasant in taking in my input. Cannot give a more glowing recommendation, and thank you so much!
I had a bridal hair trial with Stacey from Once Upon A Bride and it was an absolute dream! Stacey took my amateur requests and celebrity photo ideas and turned them into reality. I...
am obsessed with all three of the styles she took me through! On top of that, she really helped me envision how the full look would come together on the big day - i.e. once we have the appropriate hair extensions, how we’ll ensure the look will last all day long, etc. She consulted me on what I should be doing for my hair between now and then (cuts, color) to ensure the best possible outcome on my wedding day, which is something that has been lacking for me in other trials. The experience was consultative and thorough - and on top of that, super fun!!! I highly, highly recommend doing a trial with Stacey and the Once Upon A Bride team. Next up, the wedding day!
I cannot thank Stacey and her team enough for my hair and makeup on my wedding day. Aside from delivering exactly what I wanted, I felt like I was getting ready with my friends the...
morning of my wedding. Stacey (hair), Gaby (makeup), and team, all were amazing with the best energy, which put my at ease and made me relax while leading up to the hours before the ceremony. My hair was down, wavy, effortless, and not overdone which is exactly what I wanted (In Stacey’s words “runway”) while Gaby’s make up made me feel gorgeous while still looking like myself. Lots of love to Stacey and her team, you all were amazing and I could not have picked better!
OUAB is absolutely perfect. I had over 14 girls get ready with me the morning of my wedding . Stacey worked closely with me to make sure I was paired with the most perfect team ( ...
Gaby, Destiney, Carmen, Alicia, B) to get us all ready in time. My girls and I absolutely LOVED our looks. They were fun to hangout with in the morning and made sure everyone was perfect. I cannot compliment them enough.
Jessica and Sheena were amazing!!! They gave us all the natural beautiful look we wanted and were fun and professional. I’ve been to a lot of weddings where things get off schedule...
during the make-up/hair styling but Jessica and Sheena were early and got us all ready in great time! Would highly recommend!
Stacey Weinstein was amazing from the very beginning. At my hair trial, she showed me different options we could do based on the photos I showed her, and picked great extensions fo...
r my hair color and length. I loved how my hair turned out so I immediately knew I wanted to book her. On the day of my wedding, she was on time, had a positive & friendly attitude, and my bridesmaids all loved how their hair came out as well. Stacey is extremely talented, very quick, punctual, and has great style and energy!
Stacey and her team were the absolute best on my special day and kept me so calm! I hired Stacey without a hair trial and trusted her from the minute I met her. She made me feel so...
beautiful on my big day and everything was flawless from start to finish!!
Booking Stacey was one of the best decisions I made throughout my wedding planning. For my trial I brought in a photo of Meghan Markle with long loose waves and said "make me look...
like this" Stacey did it effortlessly and added little touches to make it feel even more put together and modern. We didn't even need to try alternative styles, she nailed it on the first try - although Stacey gladly would have. Irene did my makeup and this was the part I was really nervous about. I don't wear a ton of makeup and I was nervous for the reveal that I wouldn't recognize myself. I wanted a fresh, glowing warm look and Irene did an amazing job. I felt like me - just much better. I ended up booking them to do my entire bridal party as well and while everyone had such different hair and makeup looks they did them all with ease. At one point I caught Stacey doing my aunts hair - we had not booked Stacey for this and we weren't paying for it - she just did it because she wanted EVERYONE at my wedding to look their best. I couldn't believe how thoughtful that was. Stacey and her team made my wedding day EASY & BEAUTIFUL. What more could a bride ask for?
I cannot rave enough about Stacey and her team. I booked a trial with her for my wedding day hair after exhaustively looking for the best - and OMG I found it. Stacey's Instagram ...
was the reason I reached out to begin with. I am biracial and her account was one of the few that felt inclusive to me. I brought in a picture of Meghan Markle with her hair down and asked her to create the same look and she did it effortlessly. We didn't even need to try any other styles. Stacey just NAILED IT. Same with Irene, who did my makeup. I don't wear a ton of makeup as is, so I wanted to feel like me on my wedding day. Irene brought out the best and made me have that little extra sparkle needed. I ended up wearing more than I even planned because she does it so well it still felt natural. Beyond the beautiful looks they created, Stacey and Irene were SO FUN to be around. I ended up booking them and they did my entire bridal party as well. Everyone looked the best I'd ever seen them. We each had very different looks for our hair, but they all were perfectly executed without fuss. At one point - Stacey even began doing touch ups to family members who we didn't book her for. She's just that kind of person. She wanted EVERYONE to look their best on my day. Stacey and Irene just made my wedding day EASY & BEAUTIFUL. What else could a bride want?
I was so happy to have found Stacey and her amazing team. Stacey was so fantastic to work with in the planning process and on the wedding day. Stacey, Daniella, Shari & Destiney a...
ll did such beautiful work, AND they made what could have been a crazy morning feel relaxing and fun. I have been in many weddings in the past where we always seem to be rushing when the hair and makeup is running behind. Not only did OUAB finish on time, but we were done early and had some lovely extra time to enjoy together as a bridal party and leisurely get ready before the first look. I can get a bit nervous having my hair and makeup done, but Stacey and Daniella made me feel so beautiful and my husband thought it was perfect as well. My wedding day was romantic and snowy so I couldn’t resist going outside for some photos. I know Stacey was worried, but my hair and makeup still held up wonderfully! Thank you to OUAB for helping to bring such an amazing day to life!
As the mother of the bride who hired Stacey and OUAB, I cannot imagine a more relaxed, enjoyable and superbly talented hair stylist to work with on your wedding day. So important...
to me was that Stacey was always available by phone and always returned calls promptly (A big shout-out to Lauren at Loft 26 who did the same.) From hair trials at Loft 26 to morning of the wedding, Stacey and her top-notch team handled 2 moms, 5 bridesmaids and the bride with absolute personal attention to each of us, arriving on time with smiles and calm, listening to our ideas, offering suggestions, making all of us gorgeous! And the bride.....Stacey made her look more radiant than I've ever seen my daughter look.
I can't rave enough. An absolute gem is Stacey and her team!
Stacey's team was extremely professional and easy to work with. After many bad hair and makeup trials with other companies, I felt at ease with Once Upon a Bride. They were able to...

t to me and I'm also very particular about my makeup. I was immediately relieved when I found OUAB. Stacey is very organized and made the whole process—from booking the trial through to the wedding day—very easy and stress-free. And most importantly, I absolutely loved how my hair and makeup turned out! Her and her girls are extremely talented and gave me the exact look I was going for at my trial and on my wedding day. They did a beautiful job on everyone in my wedding party as well.

ased on my trial. I had some last minute changes of heart when it came to my makeup and everything came our flawlessly. Through one bridesmaids breakdown and some last minute changes everything was perfect. They kept us calm and laughing. I recommend them to ANYONE!

ng on June 2, 2017 at The Garden City Hotel. Stacey and her amazing beauty team are true professionals and made the morning of getting ready for my wedding an absolute blast. Her and her team made me, my 8 bridesmaids and mothers of the bride and groom look stunning. Hiring Stacy and her beauty team at Once Upon a Bride will be the best decision you make for your wedding - brides, do it!!
My team at Once Upon A Bride was magnificent. I first spoke with Stacey on the phone, who was amazing, she knew exactly what questions to ask to help guide me and what I would be ...
interested in. They offer different price ranges with different levels of expertise so I did not have to shell out a lot for my 8 bridesmaids whom all got their hair and makeup done with the fabulous ladies at Once Upon a Bride. They arrived on time, very friendly and fun, no drama, and the best part of it was they were easy to work with and get a long with. You can't go wrong here! they are incredible and they understand the stress that comes along with weddings! I looked stunning and I owe it all to the amazing gals at Once Upon a Bride. My hair stylist was Destiny and my make up artist was Sofia.

ouldn't imagine my big day without Emily and Karen was the perfect compliment. As always Emily's finished product was everything I dreamed of and it was extra special to have someone who has known pre-wedding/fiance/boyfriend . Karen was a delight to work with and I felt that she really listened when I said "natural" look I wanted. The ladies also did a fantastic job getting my family and family to be beautiful for the big day. Everyone walked away so happy and appreciative of their finished product and what a joy Emily and Karen were to work with. Thank you doesn't even begin to express my gratitude.
Stacey has an incredible team. Stacey, Destiny, Karen and Nicole made all of my dreams come true for my wedding day!

wedding and styled 10 women. I spent a lot of time looking for a great hair stylist and could not have been happier with the results. Emily did my hair, used extensions and the final result was perfect - exactly what I was looking for. Stacy was very helpful managing the logistics, and also helped me pick out the right extensions. I would highly recommend Once Upon A Bride. Thank you!!!

he was so great that I ended up asking her to cut my hair and now will likely be a loyal customer of her salon! She also did my hair for my rehearsal dinner and it looked better than I ever thought my hair could look! On the day of the wedding, Rita did my hair and Karen did my makeup and everything looked beautiful--and held up remarkably well under hundred degree heat and humidity. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup and Karen was so great about working with me to get a look that made me feel comfortable and like myself. Everyone was super prepared and super professional and lovely--which is important since they were a big part of the getting ready process, which can be an emotional/stressful part of the day. I highly recommend Once Upon a Bride to anyone--no matter what look you are going for, they will help you get there!

kin types, complexions and makeup preferences, and Sofia and Gaby were able to give each one of us a look that we loved. I don't usually wear a ton of makeup, so I wanted a look that wasn't too dramatic but that would still look great in photos. Sofia listened carefully to what I wanted and made sure that my makeup looked perfect and that I was 100% happy. We were all very impressed with Sofia and Gaby and would highly recommend them.

I used Emily for my hair on my wedding day. I was a bit nervous because I never finalized my hair style during my trial. I didn't really decide if I wanted to wear it up or down. Emily was great, though! I showed her a picture, and it was identical. She is also the sweetest - me and all my girls felt so comfortable.
I would recommend Emily and Stacey's team to anyone!

Stacey was also very helpful in assisting with questions and setting up appointments with Loren for color and Emily for haircuts/touch-ups leading up to my wedding. My extensions were two-toned and matched my hair PERFECTLY - which is hard to do with balayage. Emily created such a romantic, elegant hairstyle for my wedding day - I wouldn't have changed a thing. OUAB is definitely top-notch when it comes to professionalism and service - highly highly recommend!

ade me look stunning in the morning, but everything stayed in place through the end of the night! People complimented how wonderful I looked and in our photos you would never know it was so hot.
Stacey is pricey, yes. However, she knows what she is doing, you won't waste your time at multiple trials that add up to lots of money, and you will not need to worry about how you look. She knows hair and she knows what works for you.
I LOVE Stefanie and Stacey they planned everything out for my wedding day. They both were amazing and do an incredible job. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
this very professional group of makeup artists & hair stylists are the best, they showed up on time finished up ahead of schedule and made sure nothing was missed

t to have around the morning of. The make-up artist was really great, but the hair was sort of so-so. Not bad, but just didn't have the finish it would have had in a salon. Also, we were fairly rushed and could have used another person. It's also quite pricey- $375 for bride's hair and $375 for bride's make up (for the most junior level people they have), and then $150 for each bridesmaids' make-up. All in all, I would recommend that you get everything done at the salon and then if you want to be super extravagant have one of the Once Upon a Bride's people come and do touch ups throught the night.
