Once Upon a Time Events LLC is a wedding and event venue based in Kiowa, Colorado. Location is just north of the Black Forest. The venue sets the perfect scene for a country wedding, sitting up on a hill with gorgeous views that extend for 40 miles. Plenty of mature pine trees and beautiful rolling hills. The barn is conveniently located a half mile off state highway 86, but provides the quiet privacy of the rural countryside. The venue space can accommodate weddings small and large, with affordable and competitive pricing. Facilities and Capacity Welcome to Once Upon a Time Events LLC, a wedding venue space situated on 70 acres of scenic hills, pastures and farms. Ideal for your engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception. The 3,200-square-foot barn offers a charming, rustic feel that is perfect for your dream country wedding. Draped with tulle and fairy lighting, the barn has a rustic yet elegant feel. Once Upon a Time can accommodate up to 175 guests, featuring reclaimed barn wood wainscoting, tables, linens, Chiavari chairs provided. The barn has several unique spaces, including spacious,outdoor decks complete with cafe lighting,pergolas, patio heaters and gas fire pits. There is also a gorgeous outdoor ceremony site with forty mile views. A large kitchen prep area with food warmers and commercial fridges is available and designed with your caterer in mind, but bringing your own food and drink is allowed. Large comfortable ADA compliant bathrooms. A projector is provided accompanied by a 100-inch movie screen, available to project photographs and treasured memories, . A PA system and bridal suite is also included in the venue's pricing. The grounds include a vintage travel trailer park, a three story castle, and lots of space for cocktails, corn hole,and outdoor activities for your guests. Services Offered Once Upon a Time Events LLC offers a range of services that are included in the rental fee of the event space. Rentals include up to 175 white wooden Chiavari chairs, round tables and rectangular tables, and use of audio/visual equipment, a movie screen, a projector and bluetooth PA speakers. A complimentary, hour-long meeting between the vendors and family is available, as well as an hour-long planning meeting prior to the event itself. Once Upon a Time Events LLC welcomes outside caterers and vendors, who are responsible for delivery, setup, cleanup and pickups. We had a wonderful experience working with Lark and Janine at Once Upon a Time Events. Planning a wedding in 2020 was extremely challenging and they were flexible, communicative, supportive, and professional throughout the process. They worked with us to make sure that we could reschedule from May to October, and when we did have our wedding in the fall they were outstanding hosts, going above and beyond to make sure everything went as we hoped. In addition, they have good relationships with potential vendors and were happy to put us in touch with individuals or businesses they thought would provide us with the best services at reasonable costs. The venue itself is beautiful any time of year, and all our guests (even socially-distanced!) had a wonderful time, raving about the venue and amazingly lovely hosts. We would absolutely recommend Once Upon a Time Events!

Couldn't recommend this wedding venue more! Lark and Janine were both so accommodating, helpful and sweet throughout our entire wedding planning. They let us come see the space many times and always remembered who we were, our date, etc. Customer service like that goes a long way! We went on other venue tours and all of those were not nearly as personalized, let alone the people couldn't get our names/desired date straight. The day of, they were as hands on as we wanted them to be; helping our vendors with anything they needed but truly being unseen by our guests. This venue met every part of our wishlist- BYOB, space for a food truck, space to get ready and outdoor ceremony site! We were so pleased we chose this wedding venue!

The owners were so amazing! So kind and truly Cared about our entire experience. We felt so taken care of!! This venue was breathtaking! They took care of us when we everyone else had abandoned us because of covid. I will be forever grateful of the love and support they provided to us!

You will not find a more accommodating wedding venue than Once Upon a Time Events in Kiowa, Colorado. Throughout the whole planning process, Janine and Lark were there to help and answer any questions. I would shoot them an email and in no less than an hour later I would get an answer back. They let my husband and I come to the venue numerous times family and friends to plan for our big day. on the day of our rehearsal, they let us come as early as we wanted to set up which allowed us to spend our whole wedding day relaxing and enjoying our family and friends. on the day of our wedding, our family and friends could not believe how quaint and beautiful the venue was. it is the picturesque place to start your new marriage and journey with your partner. we cannot thank them enough for making our time so special.
