We hired Once Upon a Wedding (OUAW) for partial planning and day of coordination for our intimate (75 guest) brunch wedding downtown. Hiring OUAW was worth *every* *single* *penny*...
(and probably more, if I'm being honest). Kelley, the owner and lead planner, is professional, detail oriented, and, importantly, fun. When we got engaged, we had heard mainly horror stories about wedding planning. We were particularly intimidated by the process given that we were planning our Chicago wedding from half way across the country and wanted to stick to what is a fairly tight budget for the area. But, with Kelley's help, the process felt easy and even (mostly) enjoyable! Furthermore, we were able to stick to our budget. Kelley had a keen understanding of and respect for what we wanted, made fantastic vendor and timeline recommendations that were in line with our wishes, and, finally, orchestrated the events of our day flawlessly. We could not recommend OUAW more enthusiastically!

When I first met Kelley, I knew immediately that she understood what my fiance (now husband) and I are about and what we were looking for. We wanted to throw a fun party for our friends that didn't stick to convention or look like every other wedding, and Kelley had great ideas about how to make everything happen. Throughout the process she was ridiculously hard working, extremely responsive and enthusiastic, and really reduced my anxiety. On the day of the wedding, as described by my mom, I was the most relaxed I have ever been, because I knew that Kelley had everything under control and would handle any last minute issues. I could not recommend Kelley more highly - especially if you're looking for a planner (whether day of or something more) who will care about what makes you unique as a couple and how to translate that into the best wedding ever, all at an incredibly reasonable price.

ht immediately after I spoke with Ashley and Kelley. Their price was very reasonable and they are just such pleasant people! They're like the trusty friends you can rely on for all the mishaps that may happen at your wedding!!
We spoke back and forth pretty frequently about 1-2 months before my wedding. They were always super prompt in answering my emails and offered some awesome tips. We went on a walk-through for our venue and had a one-on-one meeting one month before the wedding, and just from this encounter, it was evident that they saw my vision.
On the day of, they were SO UNBELIEVABLY HELPFUL! Some mishaps occurred with the decorations that I had purchased online and with the center pieces. I didn't have to worry one bit because they handled everything so well!! They made my wedding day wayyyyyy better than I could have ever envisioned it to be! They always thought ahead and was 150% prepared at all times! I am so so so grateful for them! They are hands down the BEST investment for our wedding day. I am still glowing with happiness because of their amazingness!
