My husband and I have always enjoyed gourmet food, and when we were dating he brought me to this iconic NYC restaurant for our 1-year anniversary. The romantic setting, beautiful chandeliers, live piano, winding staircase, and a burning fire-place, not to mention the incredible food, took my breath away. We knew that we had to get married here.
The restaurant manager, Rosanne, was incredibly helpful throughout our entire planning process. Although we decided to hold our ceremony off-site at a temple, the restaurant was willing to have it on-site if we chose to. She helped coordinate with other vendors, was very responsive to e-mails, and provided us with all of the information we needed to make our day special.
Ranking the food of this place requires an entirely separate review. Their menu changes seasonally, and sometimes even more frequently than that, but one can always rely on unique gourmet flavors prepared of the freshest ingredients. Of course their signature Beef Wellington is to die for, but every single dish they prepare is delicious and a work of art. Despite the fact that they had to cook for ~115 people (the restaurant is intimate, and our guests were seated on the main level and an overlooking balcony), the quality and presentation of the food was not compromised.
The restaurant printed our escort cards, and worked with us to design our custom menu. The bartender met with us several times to design our own specialty drinks, and the pastry chef prepared a wedding cake with flavors that we requested (white chocolate lavender! it was incredible). When we came for our tasting with our parents, they were equally blown away.
Absolutely everyone from this incredible restaurant made our reception fantastic. We love love love them, and will be back for many years (we hope!). If I could, I would give them a million stars!!!
