One Leg Up plays acoustic, vintage jazz, swing dance music, Latin flavor and Gypsy Jazz in the spirit of Django Reinhardt. They are great for dancers as well as providing lovely yet lively background music. When they play acoustic it is the same elegant effect as produced by a string quartet.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with One Leg Up and they provided wonderful music on our wedding day! We came across One Leg Up purely by chance when we were walking through downtown...
Asheville and heard them performing outside a café. We love their mixture of jazz, gypsy jazz, and French café style music. As soon as we heard them playing, we knew that they had the perfect style that we were looking for at our wedding. My partner looked them up a few months later (as we started to plan our wedding). Our ceremony was outside in Asheville, NC in early November, so the weather was still warm enough for folks to stay outside and enjoy some cocktails. My partner, Matt, also worked with them on music selection; they played a few custom songs for us during the ceremony ("Here, There, and Everywhere" by The Beatles and "Somebody to Love" by Queen). The music was so beautiful and just perfect—a wonderful addition to our outdoor venue (The Farm: A Gathering Place). They were wonderful musicians to work with and we so appreciate their desire to play a couple of special songs for us during the ceremony. They also stayed to play for an hour or so right after the ceremony during our cocktail hour. Again, we are so grateful for their creativity, professionalism, and organization. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fun, down-to-earth, creative, jazz band for a wedding or other special events. Absolutely wonderful!
We had a small outdoor wedding in Asheville NC and selected One Leg Up from recommendation by my wedding planner and after listening to some samples of their work on their website....
While they are amazing, I did want a couple select songs to play for the processional and our first dance, and parent dance. As the songs I selected were not in the scope of the band's playlist, they went out of their way to obtain each song I wanted and play it over the speaker system at the venue so I didn't have to worry about doing any of it on my own. The music they played during our event was excellent and all of the band members were very talented. It was a pleasure to have them there and I would definitely recommend them to anyone that wants the classy touch of live music.
