John did an amazing job! He was with us all day and was wonderful the whole time. He captured great moments and I'd highly recommend him to anyone thinking about having a videographer for their big day! I absolutely love my video!

My husband and I could not have chosen a better photographer for our engagement pictures and wedding day. I am not a creative or imaginative person and Matt was there every step of the way. For our engagement pictures, my husband and I were a little nervous and a lot awkward. Matt made us feel very comfortable and was very imaginative and our pictures came out perfectly. On our wedding day, Matt and Josh were so professional and amazingly creative and our pictures came out more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. The turn-around for our engagement photos was only 3 weeks; and 5 for our wedding. Amazing! Again, I cannot express how happy I am with our pictures and how wonderful Matt was to work with. I have perfect photos of our perfect day that will last a lifetime.

John did an amazing job with our wedding video! We had a destination wedding in Florida and he really captured the town and feel of the weekend. I knew I wanted a video from day one when I got engaged. After much research, we came across 71 Studios and am so thankful we did. Everyone is SO down to earth and easy to work with. My husband and I did quite a bit of searching online for photographers for our wedding, but when we saw Matt's work and got in touch with him, we knew it would be a great fit! Matt helped us figure out what we wanted, but never pressured us into buying more than we wanted to spend money on. He worked with our budget and helped us find ways to cut costs. The package still included our engagement pictures (which were fantastic!), plenty of time to get all the wedding photos, and an custom album! What really sealed the deal was that we were able to download all our pictures to use however we like. We LOVE how Matt captured our personalities and the atmosphere of the wedding. He was extremely comfortable to work with and stayed so calm even though we were on a tight schedule for pictures before and after the ceremony. This helped me so much! If you're looking for someone that is great at capturing amazing pictures in the midst of all the wedding chaos, Matt is your guy!

One Tree Studios was fantastic! My fiance and I really enjoyed first meeting with Matt, how he explained his company, what they strive for and his history as a photographer. It gave us a good sense of what type of photos we were going to get from him (in addition to the wedding books he brought along which was nice to peek through photos in person, not just online). We were really looking for a natural photographer, someone to capture the whole day the way it really was, so it was important to us that the photographer enjoyed and had a lot of examples of candid photos because that was more important to us than portraits (although the portraits were great as well!) We chose One Tree because the style of photos were different than what you typically see, we loved that and also because we felt comfortable with Matt, which we thought was really important considering neither of us like being photographed. The engagement session was a great trial run. We wanted to take photos at the restaurant where we got engaged but found out shortly before we were starting that it was closed and Matt was really flexible - he already had other ideas of locations in mind. It was also a day with 114 degree heat index and he, along with us, suffered through it without any complaints. He was fantastic at capturing the moment while we were walking and talking like we normally would so we felt very at ease. He also did am amazing job getting a lot of different scenery in the photo at just one location - we were really surprised and happy at how the photos looked like we took them in multiple different locations! We also had a pretty tight turn around for the photos, we wanted to use them for our save the dates that needed to be mailed in two weeks and he was extremely accommodating, we had the photos back in less than a week which we really appreciated. Leading up to the wedding, Matt had good recommendations for our timeline from his experiences at weddings which was helpful and was open to the locations we wanted to go to for photos as well as suggesting locations that would look good for our winter wedding. Day of - amazing! When Matt was with the ladies, it felt like he wasn't even there, it never felt like he was intruding to get a shot or that we needed to permanently smile because the camera was on us. He got photos of absolutely everything and more at my home with the ladies before the wedding and Nancy, the second photographer got a lot of great shots with the men as well! At the wedding, same situation, Matt and Nancy were not in the line of sight at all and I never noticed either of them taking photos. The end result was fantastic - we are so happy with all of our photos! The use of space and light in our photos is fantastic... we were extremely impressed at how great each photo looked, the creativity behind each one and how the photos truly documented our whole day and got things on camera we never got to see. And we got the photos back in a week! Overall - I would highly recommend. Very easy going and extremely talented photographers, amazing photos to have forever.

My husband proposed to me at the beginning of December and we were married December 29th! Clearly we were not concerned about a big wedding, but we did decide that a great photographer was a must. Not only was I impressed w/ the work on One Tree Studio's site, but I was floored by Matt's willingness to deal with our last minute planning and plan changing. :) Matt was flexible, genuinely cared about our event and worked hard to get great shots the ENTIRE time. I would refer him in a heartbeat!!!

My biggest fear going into our wedding was the possibility of not having every important and meaningful moment captured on our special day. 71 Studios put all my fears to rest. They were diligent, helpful, and professional throughout the entire process and even more fabulous post wedding fulfilling our last minute requests in a very timely manner. Every time I watch our video I laugh, smile and cry and always think to myself, "Oh wow, I'm so glad they caught that!" A MUST HAVE! I was one of those brides... "I don't need a video, they are too expensive, pictures are enough. It's not in the budget." No. Am I glad that former brides talked me out of this crazy thinking! After watching One Tree Hill's videos I knew I was wrong. This is the one memory piece that indescribably captures the events, details and emotions of the day. There is SO much going on and while pictures are great, they don't capture things like videos do. My husband and I have been watching ours thinking... How did we almost not do this? And why didn't we sign-up for all the extras? My only regret is not getting a bigger package with more hours and more footage, and also requesting the documentary edit. Go big or go home. Michael and his associate did a fabulous job... The video captured exactly what we wanted it to, which is the emotions, excitement and FUN of the day. He works with you on what is most important to you and your family to make sure he has a clear understanding of what you expect and your style. I can't recommend One Tree Hill's videography services enough... you won't regret it!

Our photographer, Matt Frye, was amazing. He is knowledgable and needs little direction to produce gorgeous photos. Whenever he suggested we do something, we just went with it, and every photo was amazing. We got married January 9, 2016, and the high that day was at midnight, with the temperature falling throughout the day. Despite that, he got us outside for my favorite photos from the whole day. Matt was calm & funny, patient & warm. As a bride with anxiety, he was everything I could have wanted in a photographer and enabled me to relax. He also captured some very funny moments from the day (my favorite kind of thing), and I couldn't be happier. The turnaround was quicker than expected, and I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to work with him. I hope we get the opportunity to work with him again in the future for family photos as we grow our family!

Picking John and Studio 71 was the best choice We made when planning our wedding. He was extremely professional but also so fun! John met us before hand and he learned about Adam & I. I believe this helped him tell an amazing story of us. He is extremely detailed and has an eye for amazing shots. I'm so happy that we made a choice to have a wedding video but even more thrilled that John filmed it.

Michael and Joe with did an incredible job creating our wedding video. For those who go back and forth on getting a video, like we did, it is so worth it when you work with One Tree Studios. We didn't realize how much it would mean to get to see those moments between guests, parents, grandparents that we missed while running around all day. And it's special to see what I did get to see that day from a different perspective. They have a special touch for editing - the highlight film they create is second to none. Even though videos are wrapped up into minutes, the way the images, the music and the priceless words people say are all put together with such attention to detail somehow captures the entire story of your wedding and makes you feel like you've witnessed every detail. Plus, it felt like we were hanging out with old friends all day with Michael and Joe. They were fun and creative, made us feel so comfortable, and we barely noticed they were following us around with cameras. We couldn't recommend One Tree Studios more highly!

Working with Matt (and his assistant) was a PERFECT experience from beginning to end. There's no other way to describe it. He is obviously so passionate about photographing beautiful moments - it absolutely shows in his work! We are so pleased with the quality of our wedding photos that we have to cherish forever. Using One Tree Studios for our wedding photography was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We found One Tree Studios at a wedding show, and their photography blew us away- it was beautiful. From that point forward, working with Matt exceeded all of our expectations. Matt did an engagement shoot with us to get a feel for our style, and it was so helpful to work with him in this capacity before our wedding. He did our engagement photos on a freezing cold day, but still made the photo shoot fun, enjoyable, and our pictures turned out beautiful! There’s so many options out there for photography, it was hard to know where to begin, but I think we made a great decision to go with One Tree Studio. Not only did Matt help us determine what photo package was appropriate for the size and style of photography we were looking for, but he offered suggestions on timing and locations for specific photos. And when one of our planned “locations” didn’t work out, Matt had a great backup spot ready to go. Throughout the wedding, he really put us at ease, and most important…we have a beautiful collection of photographs to remember our day!

Matt was wonderful throughout the whole process and I do not regret spending 1 cent. They were fantastic and so were the photos. We enjoyed our photobooth as well.

When my husband and I were working on finding a wedding photographer and comparing vendors etc., we kept coming back to the One tree Studios photos. Their photos weren't just the standard pretty wedding pictures, they were a beautiful editorial on someone's life and story. My husband has three children and my relationship with them and the dynamics of our new family has been a big part of our relationship. Matt captured that so beautifully in a way I couldn't have even imagined. They also did a beautiful job of capturing the spirit of our family and friends. A large portion of the photos are of us laughing throughout the day which describes us all perfectly. Our wedding day was not one of stress or worrying about details, it was a day of joy, love, laughter and fun. Matt and Peter truly embraced that, had fun with it and the results were spectacular!

My husband and I hired One Tree to photograph our wedding, and we couldn't be happier with the service we received and how our photos turned out. Matt was an extreme pleasure to have at our wedding! When my then fiance told me to look at One Tree I was immediately impressed with his eye for capturing emotion. One Tree Studios did a fantastic job documenting our wedding. Photography was one of the things we wanted to splurge on for our wedding to be able to remember all of the great moments and truly experience all the moments we missed or didn't remember. One Tree Studios was well worth it. Our pictures are unbelievable! They truly capture who we are and found unique and beautiful ways to bring out our personality in the photos. The quality of their photos and service is unmatched. They completely stayed out of the way while still capturing everything. We had Peter for our engagement and wedding photographer, and he was the perfect fit for us. He was a perfectionist, and did a great job capturing our special moments, our personalities, and also just made us look good (which is really what we all want)! He is also just a very nice person, someone you'd want to be friends with. We highly recommend Peter!

These guys are a must! The first tmie we met with Michael Ransdell he was nothing but professional, we were so happy with the service he provided and the end product! He captured every moment and things that we didn't remember. I was thrilled when we watched the film for the first time and couldn't be any happier with One Tree Weddings! Worth every penny! My only regret is that we did not use them to do our wedding photos as well.

Michael gave us the most amazing wedding gift we could ever ask for--a video that captured the true essence and story of our special day. We were referred to Michael by a friend (who is from Kansas City) and we are truly grateful that he was able to make the trip to the eastern shore of VA! Michael is incredibly laid back, hilarious, and easy to work with; while filming we didn't even realize he was there! Because of this, he was able to capture subtle aspects of the wedding that could otherwise go unnoticed (views and shots of the wedding and venue, body language, and audio). All of these were combined into a master piece which we are now able to share with friends and family. We could not be more pleased with the way that it turned out. He is amazingly talented and we would recommend Michael and One Tree Studios to anyone who who would like to be able to re-live their special day!

Choosing a photographer for my wedding was one of the hardest choices I had to make. Planning a wedding in Kansas from California, I only had the internet to rely on for research, reviews, and photo samples. It was really important to me for my pictures to have an artistic, photojournalistic flair, which is in short supply in the Kansas City area without breaking the bank. My searching came to a stop when I found One Tree Studios, and I am so happy with my choice. Matt was great to work with from the beginning. Working with someone strictly over the phone and e-mail is never easy, but out of all my vendors, he was the most seemless to communicate with and the quickest in responding to me. He sent me several complete weddings as samples, which was very helpful in making my decision as I could see the day from beginning to end. Their packages include 2 photographers for the whole day and unlimited time/photos, which important to me and I feel so worth the investment. I had several important shots from different angles, which I would strongly recommend to any bride. Ultimately, Matt and Peter were exactly what I needed. They were up for anything I requested, but didn't need direction to do their jobs and delivery beautiful, creative photos. I chose the option that includes a photo album, and cannot wait for that to be finished. They are definitely not cheap, and were one of my biggest wedding investments, but also the only one with a tangible product that I will cherish in the years to come.

I should start off by saying that my husband and I are not publicly affectionate people. So the typical engagement photos - us kissing, foreheads touching, etc. - just weren't us. Matt worked with us to find things that we were comfortable doing. It was also raining/freezing that day, but Matt was a trooper! For one photo, we jumped in a puddle and Matt was laying on the wet ground. He was soaked by the end of the shoot! Our wedding photos also turned out great. We started at 10:30 am and didn't end until 11:30 pm, but Matt was there the whole time. He had an assistant with him as well - Stephanie - and she was amazing. I was initially worried about her being on her own (Matt was with me, the bride, getting ready that morning while Stephanie went to my husband's place) but her pictures were fantastic. Some of them are my favorite ones! I think Matt works with quality people, so I wouldn't worry about anyone you work with, as long as they're with OneTree! I don't even remember seeing Matt at the wedding, but he was there. He did a great job of blending in. During our photo process there was some confusion regarding the pricing and what it included. One Tree has since updated their packages to be more clear on what is included, which I think shows they really listen to their customers and want to provide the best all-around service. I would definitely recommend Matt & the folks at One Tree!!

I'm obsessed with my pictures!! Peter and the One Tree team were fantastic from day 1 - they took time to get to know my husband and me and our wedding day vision. On our big day, they were incredibly professional and captured every detail. The pictures are fantastic and are exactly what we were looking for - creative and high quality. They tell our wedding story perfectly!

Matt was seriously a dream to work with. Besides the fact his photos are INCREDIBLE he is fun, laid back, sweet and genuinely happy to be there. You spend a TON of your wedding day with your photographer by your side so it is not only the quality of their photos that matters but also their personality. Michael and his assistant were great to work with.They actually arrived at the venue earlier than I did and stayed for the whole day. We used One Tree Studios to provide the photography and videography for our daughter and son in-law's wedding. THEY ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT! They were truly professionals and the end result was just AMAZING! What they captured really told the story of the day. Matt and Michael were really comfortable and easy to work with... super accommodating, and their main focus was to be in the background and still get all of the images to create lasting memories for the Bride and Groom as well as friends and family. My husband and I used One Tree for our engagement and wedding photos and we are beyond thrilled with the results. We had the opportunity to meet with Matt out in New Mexico for our engagement shoot. He had taken the time to scout locations prior to the shoot, which produced amazing results. His eye is so amazing that he see when a good picture will happen, even causing us to pull over on the side of the highway to capture the last of the sunlight; hands down one of my favorite pictures of the day. Our experience with Matt was fabulous!! He was so easy to work with, and took the time to sit down with us and go over every detail! I contacted a few videographers and decided to chose One Tree. They captured every special moment of the day. It will be something we can cherish forever. When we were deciding the must haves for the wedding, we were a bit on the fence for a videographer because of the cost. It was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. I am SO GLAD I discovered One Tree Studios by watching another friend's wedding video. John and Michael were so amazing, I don't even know what else to say about it. They were professional, easy to work with and very go with the flow. I'm so excited to see the final product because I know it will be so epic. My husband said they even got in the ocean when the guys all went swimming the morning of the wedding to ensure they'd "get the shot!" I would recommend One Tree to anyone looking for an amazingly beautiful video!

We got married on the beautiful island of Bali in June 2013... and it was pure magic. We were blessed to have 104 of our best friends from all over the world, fly out to share an epic 3 day wedding weekend with us in paradise. To us, the videographer was THE most important part of capturing our wedding ~ more so than the dress, the food, the photography... we knew that having the opportunity to look back at a video on our 20th,30th,40th anniversary and reminisce the heart exploding love that happened during that weekend... would be priceless. Being a destination wedding, we knew it would make more sense to hire someone local in Bali, but the super talented companies were fully booked (a full year in advance) and we didn't feel that the remaining video teams there could pull off the style we wanted. So we knew we had to look to other countries to find talent, and fly them to Bali. We actually had a videographer from LA in mind who we'd found through a friend, and we were delighted when he said yes. However, a few months after our agreement, he sent us an email with a heavy heart saying that he was having health challenges and didn't want me to end up without a videographer at the last minute. I was totally devastated!!! But knew that everything happens for a reason and we just had to find someone as good if not, better... So our strategy was to scour wedding videos on Vimeo, by searching popular wedding videos and then narrowing down those that seemed creative and fit the style we wanted... and eventually we found One Tree Studios! We shot off an email to them, crossing our fingers, and instantaneously we were met with the kindest, most enthusiastic reply from Michael Ransdell. Luckily for us, Michael works together with his wife, Melissa, and they were both were itching to travel to Asia. Apparently they were just days away from clicking the book button on a trip to China. Must've been in the stars! We met over Skype and had several back and forth emails prior to the actual trip to get clarity on the style and feel of our video and schedule. They had not done a destination wedding before, but everything was very easy and communicated clearly. We finally met in person for the first time in Bali and they were SO NICE and professional! They were never in our face... and so great at capturing candid moments with us, our guests, the scenery. We had a bike tour and they had go pros hooked up to our bikes and even came for the ride!!! As a cinematographer myself, I had very high standards to fulfill when looking for my wedding videographer. I did a ton of research to find the best option near my price range, and One Tree Studios truly stood out above the rest. The customer/vendor relationship is very important to them, and they show it by being very attentive in communication and learning about what makes your relationship unique. These guys are the total package, and even though it was a big investment, it was one of the most important things in the budget. Why spend all that money on the rest of the wedding and not document such a special day? To be able to share those moments with other loved ones in the future and to look back at where it all began is a blessing. Video quality, camera angles, audio, editing, music choice, the storytelling, and their overall technique was beautifully thought out and executed. One Tree Studios was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. They were so fun to work with and made such a beautiful video of our day. We shared the final video with our family and friends and they all said the video was so 'us'. They captured the most special moments of our wedding and for that, we can't thank them enough. Even though the plans for our wedding changed dramatically (due to weather), Mike was able to make the most out of the situation, and created an even more beautiful film than we could have ever imagined. Wedding planning is a very stressful time. There is always that fear that you may hire the wrong person or make the wrong decision; however, we were very confident from the beginning in our decision to use One Tree Studios as our photographers for our wedding day. Matt Frye was extremely nice and professional. He helped us design a timeline for our wedding day so that we made sure every moment was captured. He showed up with two other photographers (more than we were expecting) and went straight to work. He made his day extremely flexible so it could meet our needs. I had guests commenting on how great our photographers were during the ceremony and reception. We couldn't wait to get our wedding photos back, and we weren't disappointed. The pictures were AMAZING. One Tree Studios captured every single moment of our special day. Every time we look through the pictures, we relive our wedding day. And guests that weren't able to make it to the wedding feel as if they were there just by looking through our wedding photos. One Tree Studios truly knows how to tell a story through their artwork. We are so happy with our decision and look forward to working with One Tree Studios in the future.

We had the best experience working with One Tree Films, and we were absolutely blown away with the quality of our wedding video. They were extremely professional in every way, and kept in contact throughout the process. They gave us suggestions on things such as writing our own vows, our first look, etc that helped to produce such a beautiful wedding video. In searching websites and watching videos to find a videographer, we felt that One Tree was THE BEST videographer in the Kansas City area, and we have found others who agree. Our only regret would be that we hired a separate vendor to shoot our photography, as the customer service received was awful. We should have hired One Tree to shoot pictures and film together. My wife and I became friends with One Tree Studios, and still keep in touch to this day. By following One Tree Studios on Facebook and Vimeo, we are able to see their most recent videos and it is like a new episode of your favorite TV show. Let me start by saying that I was very frustrated and having a hard time finding a photographer that I really liked! and then I saw Matt's pictures online and knew that we had to have him as our wedding photographer. This was my second wedding. The photographer at my first wedding provided us with very disappointing wedding photos so having great images/memories of my second wedding was high priority. I immediately contacted Matt and he responded quickly and we set up an appt. Meeting Matt sealed the deal for us! You could tell that he was passionate about photography and that he enjoyed it! This was definitely not a "job" he was doing. On our wedding day Matt did a great job of being an "invisible" photographer. He did such a good job of blending in that I wondered how he possibly got any good pics taken! Needless to say we got our pics and we loved them! We were amazed that he got so many great pics without us noticing him taking the pictures! I would definitely recommend Matt as a photographer for any event!
