Photographing weddings since 2017, we have had the privilege of working at some of the most beautiful venues in Michigan and beyond. Whether your wedding is an intimate wedding at a historic estate (Looking at you Pine Knob Mansion!) or a grand celebration in a luxurious ballroom, we bring a calm, professional presence and a keen eye for detail.
Our signature style is characterized by its timeless, elegant aesthetic. We know how to use natural light when it is available and artificial light when it's not to create images that look and feel effortless yet carry a depth of emotion.

My only advice, which is not Megan’s fault, is to truly think about your wedding timeline in reference to photography. We were running late on hair/makeup and I felt sad afterwards, thinking we might not have gotten as many photos as I’d hoped, however we had FUN!! and I think that’s what’s more important. The truth is, my husband thought pictures were overrated because he was simply uncomfortable with the thought of people following us around and taking pictures of us. From the very beginning Megan made us feel comfortable and confident. We had multiple meetings to discuss our visions with Megan. To say she met our expectations with reality would be undermining. Megan exceeded our expectations in every way. Megan was professional, kind, and caring. When we got our gallery back from both our engagement and wedding sessions by husband was in near tears reliving the best day of our lives together through Megan’s photography. After reviewing our wedding album my husband reached out to Onyx and Opal Creative Co. stating the following, “Thank you for taking the pictures of our day. They turned out amazing. I am glad my wife and I chose you to take our pictures because they could not have been any better.” Megan turned my hesitant husband into someone who would never even think of booking another photographer for any major life event we may have. emotional and stressed mess. Thankfully they led us to Onyx+Opal, the second I spoke with Megan on the phone, I was calm and knew she was sent to us for a reason! There just aren’t enough words to possibly describe how amazing Megan and Katie were. They were so personable, fun, professional, and VERY talented. My husband and I had never been professionally photographed before and admitted we may need guided lol. They made sure we felt comfortable in all our photos and did such an AMAZING job making sure we got the BEST photos! We will be forever grateful for them saving our day and for all of the beautiful images they captured of such a special time in our lives. They definitely were very easy to work with and we will forever treasure our photos. They exceeded our expectations x100. em, but the customer service was lacking. Half my pictures had someone else's last name as the image title and the gallery had the wrong date on it. My favorite picture from the previews I got was missing from the final album, which I asked about, and my request was forgotten. My gallery also arrived later than promised in our contract, but they did apologize for that and offered a complimentary canvas print (which I'm not confident I'll get). This vendor was one of my favorites after the actual wedding day, but unfortunately these problems are the last impression I'm getting of their company and why I no longer feel they earned 5 stars with me.
