Shawn was absolutely fantastic. He was super responsive, communicative, personable, and kind. He did a wonderful job with the set list and even gave us the playlist on a flashdrive...
in a beautiful wooden memorabilia case. I highly recommend hiring him!
I had quick responses from Shawn and his website sets it up easily for you to pick songs/plan your nights music. He was also able to do the music for our ceremony which was request...
ed pretty short notice. The music for the ceremony went great, as I’m guessing it was Shawn who was there doing it.
Now, I had heard great things about Shawn and was excited to have him DJ our wedding reception too, but when we got to our reception there were two boys that looked no older than 18 working the DJ Booth. A planned surprise dance with my father was ruined because they didn’t play the song (they claimed they didn’t have it even though I sent the exact sound bit to use), the wrong song then started for the groom/mother dance, and I had to ask my wedding attendants to get them to play the music I had actually spent months picking out. That night I got an email from Shawn saying he had heard what happened and gave us a $100 refund. Ok…thanks? I would’ve liked to know ahead of time it wasn’t going to be him DJing our reception. I didn’t want my reception to be where these kids seemed to be learning how to DJ.
Thankfully none of the guests noticed because they didn’t know about the surprise, but my dad and I spent months planning a surprise that was ruined in the moment and it was really disappointing.
Shawn was terrific! His website made the planning and selection of songs very easy. He stayed in touch prior to the event, promptly answering all of my questions and offering help...
ful suggestions. He arrived early the evening of the wedding and had everything ready to go well in advance. In addition to providing all of the ceremony and reception music, Shawn also provided the uplighting which created an elegant and festive ambiance. All of the equipment worked perfectly, including the microphones provided for both officiants and those making toasts. All in all, we are so happy to have chosen Ooh La La and Shawn for the big day. Highly recommend! Thank you, Shawn!
We loved Ooh Lala!!! Super easy to work with and we loved that we put out playlist together. Our Dj was attentive and was good at keeping us on schedule that night. We had a blast!...
The night went off without a hitch.
It was also great to be able to get a package that included our second line with a full brass band. Ooh lala contracted it and then Carolyn from all about events took over that part of it. It was awesome to find it all rolled into one package. The music and second line could take a ton of planning if we had tried to do any part of it ourselves. Booking through Oohlala kept things easy and stress free. Thanks!!
Sean was terrific he was professional, personable and just a really a nice guy! We had a ball! He played all the songs I ask for and had a great Bose system! Thanks Sean I highly r...
ecommend you and oh la la!!!
First, understand - the last thing I wanted at my wedding was a DJ! I have always envisioned a live band, and I spent the bulk of my wedding planning experience trying to find a b...
and but to no avail. Either they weren't in the budget, not the right type, or unavailable. I was frantic by the time a girlfriend of mind recommended Shawn. I am so glad that she did, and I can't believe that I didn't book Ooh La La sooner - planning would have been so much easier. Working with Shawn was extremely easy, and we got exactly what we wanted. What is better, he has a package that includes a Second Line - prep and all, which was AMAZING...literally, the best part of my wedding except for the actual getting married part. I would HIGHLY recommend!
We used ooh la la music company for uplighting and my reception venue looked amazing. I highly recommend.
Shawn with OhLaLa DJ is very professional and wonderful to work with, and he made our reception a blast! Our wedding coordinator recommended Shawn and we loved working with him. It...
’s very easy to create your ideal playlists for him (and just as importantly, to let him know which songs you *don’t* want played!). He took some requests from our guests, and kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night. Someone even commented that they couldn’t believe how our entire family and friends stayed dancing the whole night. Don’t hesitate, book OhLaLa DJ now, you won’t be disappointed!
We used the Ooh La La Music Company for our wedding 2 weeks ago in New Orleans. They were very professional, prompt, and courteous through the whole process. They provided DJ servi...
ces as well as uplighting, gobo lighting, and A/V services for us. Their lighting helped create the mood for the reception, and their music definitely kept the party going! We were able to provide songlists ahead of time for "must-plays", "nice-to-haves", and "don't-plays" - then they worked within those guidelines as well as worked with how the crowd was feeling that night at the reception to create a festive evening! We will definitely use them again for future events.
We used Ooh La La for our ceremony music and sound (microphone and speakers). They came highly recommended by our vendor and others. They were easy to work with and able to play wh...
at we wanted. Unfortunately, the music cut in and out while I was walking down and the sound did not work at all for the ceremony, so no one could hear at all. Luckily, our ceremony was very short, so guests were not in silence for long. I'm sure it was a fluke thing, but it was a bit disappointing. We had a wine box as part of our ceremony that we knew would be a unique part for many of our guests, but no one knew what we were doing. I will say they refunded our payment, which was the right thing to do, and we appreciated that very much.
Good DJ with an online form that you can constantly update and change until a few days prior to your wedding. Couple of small issues with the microphone during the ceremony but ov...
