wedding was the weekend of hurricane Beyrl and all the vendors were nervous because the majority of the city was still out of power. We had 50+ guest cancel the day of because they were still without power. All the hotels were overbooked. It was a disaster. I feel like most people would have faked an obnoxious positive attitude which would have drove a stressed out bride crazy but she handled it perfectly. Hunter was so genuinely cool, calm, and real about what we were dealing with that it helped me accept it and put my energy to enjoying the night! Hunter remained connected with us throughout the entire planning process, often meeting up for dinner to ensure we were on track. Her warm, genuine, and likeable personality made her incredibly easy to get along with. She asked all the right questions to ensure we were considering every detail, and she provided her expert perspective and knowledge without ever being overbearing or swaying us in a direction we weren't comfortable with.
One of the standout features of working with Hunter was her use of the Aisle Planner platform. This tool was invaluable, offering a comprehensive checklist to keep us organized, as well as spaces to store notes, seating charts, floor plans, timelines, and more. Hunter's guidance and the resources she provided made the planning process smooth and stress-free.
On the rehearsal and wedding days, Hunter was a calm and reassuring presence. She was assertive when needed, effectively coordinating with vendors, officiants, the bridal party, friends, and family to ensure everything ran on schedule. Her ability to manage all the moving parts allowed us to fully enjoy our special day without any worries.

She checked on the bride room all day as she set up the signs, name cards and many other things! When the big moment arrived, she had guests seated and family and wedding party lined up and ready to go. The reception was perfect and she had everything organized for the bride and groom’s departure. At the end, all of the things we needed to leave with were organized and by the front door! She is a huge reason it was a perfect day!!

Hunter is organized and punctual - and she thoroughly ENJOYS what she does, and it totally shows in her work. She has a long history of working with vendors and other wedding folks in the area and knows all the good, bad, and in between - knows where to go or where to point you for just about anything wedding-related. Seriously, hire this woman to be your wedding planner. Hiring Hunter made our lives so much easier in the months leading into our wedding -- Just wish I had hired her sooner.

She flawlessly coordinated with vendors, ensuring that every flower was in place, every guest was accounted for, and every moment was perfectly timed. Her ability to juggle a million tasks while remaining poised and calm is a skill that cannot be taught – it's simply a part of who she is.
Hunter's personal touch made us feel like we were her only clients, despite knowing she had a busy schedule. I was a DIY bride and picked out my vendors & decor myself, then asked Opal & Slate for support on day-of coordination. They were great at communicating with the vendors I had contracted, and I heard nothing but the best from my vendors about how prepared and professional Opal & Slate was to work with. The day our wedding came the venue space wasn’t completely event-ready, but Opal & Slate picked up where we left off (so I could go be a bride) and when I came back, I was AMAZED. They completely transformed our space with the decor items I had provided. I am not a decorator so their help with that was such a bonus for me! Our ceremony space was also our reception space, so Opal & Slate took the lead on flipping the space while we left and did family/wedding photos. Again, when we came back, the reception was BEAUTIFUL! Opal & Slate was great at supporting us that night and notified us discreetly of changes that had to be made (whether due to weather or lack of space, etc). They also wrangled a few of our more -let’s say “fun” - guests!! Overall, they were great from day one and provided more than excellent service from planning to day-of. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a planner or coordinator. And for those who are on the fence, trust me, it’s WORTH IT! ay of Coordination is SO much more than you realize ladies, and Hunter will guide you through it seamlessly! Making sure you check off all the items on the to do list to avoid dealing with headaches on your wedding day is a MUST. In addition to check-ins to make sure we were on track leading up to the day, Hunter handled communications with my vendors behind the scenes so I didn’t have to worry about who would be where, doing what, at what time. If I ever checked in, my vendors assured me “I’ve already discussed the details with Hunter”. Such a relief! Not to mention the little (metaphorical) fires here and there on wedding day. She was so calm and cheerful no matter what, there when I needed her, and made sure everything got done, looked good, and was on time. She polished rings, wrangled family and bridal parties, held my dress out of the dirt. You name it, she was ready. Cannot recommend Opal & Slate Events enough. They were ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! This was the biggest bang for my buck out of any wedding expense! My husband, bridal party, family, and even others were complimenting us on what a great job they did.
