April was really enjoyable to work with. She went above and beyond to help us by booking rentals and help plan out other details of the dinner/drinks portion of our wedding. She’s obviously incredibly experienced and it gave us the confidence and assurance that we were in good hands. I think early on in the process, she may have been swamped with weddings, so we had a bit of additional back and forth (which is why 4 stars vs 5). We also weren’t able to try out any of our dishes, but all of the food was excellent. Guests were all very pleased and we’d definitely recommend Open Table.
Open Table Catered my wedding and was wonderful from start to finish! They worked with me on my budget and we were able to find a delicious menu for my special day. They were very clean, professional, and safe while serving dinner during these more difficult times. I received so many compliments from my guests telling me how much they enjoyed the dinner that was provided! I cannot recommend Open Table Catering enough!
Open table did a great job catering my wedding. They were very professional throughout the whole process and it really put me at ease as I was planning my wedding remotely. They allowed for me to personalize the menu to my taste and did family style serving which was really important to me. I wish April could have been with us on the day of but the lady that came instead (blanking on name) was really sweet and did a great job. Thanks Open Table!
One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was working with Open Table. April and her team made the entire catering process so easy, wonderful, and (most importantly) delicious! Our guests are still talking about amazing the food was.
April listened to us every step of the way and created an amazing custom menu, plus she and her staff took extra steps to come up with such fun ideas (grilling onsite, custom shot glasses, beautiful and unique plate presentations) that everything felt so unique and special. Their customer service is also outstanding and the entire day-of staff was amazing and thoughtful. They checked in with us (the bride and groom) throughout the night to make sure we had food and drinks (we actually got to taste everything at our wedding – a rare treat from what I’ve heard! ). Our family and guests all felt so taken care of as well.
We absolutely recommend having Open Table cater your wedding (or any other event!) – they do an impeccable job.
April and her team make phenomenal food! The organic salads are delish and she worked with us on creating a perfect menu to reflect us and the local cuisine in Boise. Many of our guests were from out of town and we were able to give them an "Idaho" experience that included trout and huckleberry lemonade. We had rave reviews from our guests including the vegetarians that she was able to accommodate.
April was very nice and I love that she creates custom menus to your budget! We had a fully vegan menu and had so many compliments from our guests on how awesome the food tasted. It was so good, that we didn't have any pizza left for us to have seconds! While April was not present the day of, her catering manager Cindy was fantastic! She had everything covered, offered to get us seconds, and even fed us cake outside the kitchen door. I would hire them again in a heart beat.
Open Table was fantastic. We got married at the Pioneer Park in Stanley, with no kitchen in the heat of the summer. They prepared perfectly for this setting and the execution was great. We had friends and family from out of state, many of whom who'd never been to Idaho, and the food far surpassed their expectations. Someone brought my husband and me an app between the ceremony and photos to ensure we got some and we were told to eat first, guaranteeing we did in fact eat. We had ~140 adults and 15 kids and again, everyone loved the food. April was great to work with beforehand, always quick to respond and professional. Of all the silly wedding stressors in the planning process, she was reliably never one of them. I would recommend her for any type of event, in Boise and remotely!
Opentable was WONDERFUL!! They can make anything delicious and customized our menu for us - including buffalo chicken bruschetta and ahi poke slippers! They were delicious and we had many compliments on the food, but the real gift was the kind and professional team of people we worked with! Cindy was checking on us the entire time, and brought up extra rentals when our rental company forgot some inventory. All the other vendors loved working with them and they REALLY know what they are doing - all of their suggestions were excellent! When I needed to cut down on the budget, April made excellent suggestions and helped us still get everything we wanted. Cindy was delightful and checked in on us throughout the evening and even the next day. I can't praise them highly enough!! Thank you thank you!!
Open Table took a very short notice job for 50+ VIPs coming to Boise. With only 5 days notice, April and her crew were very responsive, flexible, and most of all super sweet during the whole event. I highly recommend Open Table Catering, and I will be hiring them again in the future!
We had a great experience with OpenTable for our June 1, 2013 wedding. I planned our wedding from out-of-state and OpenTable's responsiveness, professionalism, and flexibility were of utmost importance. April provided great advice and assistance. She even recommended our cake vendor who turned out to be fabulous!! April is a wonderful chef and was very flexible in accommodating our requests. My dad wanted April to purchase the meat for the dinner from a vendor he prefers and she was very responsive to that request. My dad also provided asparagus for the meal and she didn't charge for its preparation. April's staff was very kind and courteous. They took excellent care of us before we were introduced at the reception when we needed a little break and alone time. They brought us some appetizers (which were excellent!) to snack on while we waited. The dinner was also fabulous. We highly recommend OpenTable.
Negatives: The chicken didn't taste like it did during the tasting. It was a little drier and the sauce seemed different. Also, after we arrived and were introduced, we started talking to family and friends and probably thirty minutes later the staff informed us that they wouldn't start serving dinner until we were seated. Since we had a lot of guests we wanted to see during the reception this was a little bothersome. In the least, we wish they would have informed us in advance because it put our timeline off by a solid 30+ minutes and I never did get to say thank you to all of our guests.
April was very nice and was more than happy to work with our budget. I wouldn't have chosen Open Table if it weren't the in house recommended caterer for the Linen Building. I only chose them because it saved me $500 extra. The food was alright. Nothing to be excited over.
The food was far from what we expected. The quality of the ingredients was good, but the presentation was poor and it was served cold. Very disappointed.
The food was INCREDIBLE!! The price is higher, but you get what you pay for - perfection. We are still getting compliments on our food. April works with you very hard to plan a personalized, delicious menu, for a price you are comfortable with. The food was presented well and they also cut and served the cake for us!
Wonderful food. All my guests said it was the best wedding food ever. April and all her staff were great to work with. Very accomodating, pleasant and cheerful.
April, the owner, is awesome. We got married at the Linen Building and they only allow Open Table Catering, so we really didn't know what to expect. She creates a totally customized menu based on your price and what you like. She also put together an amazing selection of passed appetizers and a stationary cheese/cracker platter for our cocktail hour. People were raving about them. We aren't crazy about wedding cake, so she made us cupcakes in three different flavors (again, she'll make whatever flavors you can imagine) and then a bigger cupcake for us to cut. The ONLY complaint we had was that our food was a bit cold. We had our main dinner course served buffet style, which was supposed to ensure warmer food, but at least the first batch wasn't as warm as we would have liked. She catered a brunch at my parent's house the day before the wedding and that was AMAZING. Hands down, the best brunch food I have ever had. She focuses on local, fresh and organic ingredients when possible, which makes her food that much better. Overall, it was great.
we had a delicious buffet at our wedding done by open table. they were sooo good. the food was delicious and there was plenty to go around! i loved working with april to come up with a spectacular menu. she really makes it classy and elegant. she worked with us on coming up with a price that fit our budget. i would highly recommend them!
We loved working with Open Table to create our menu. They are very inventive and wanted to help us make a unique menu of things that you don't see at every wedding reception. We LOVED our menu! The food was delicious but we did hear that some of the food was a little cold and 1 item was a little greasy. We also had LOTS of complements on the food. A couple minor things - Would have been nice to know that we needed to bring containers for the leftover food or even nicer if they provided them. Would have also been nice to have a little extra help cutting the cake. It was cut a little sloppy and was slow to get the cake served. All in all we were very pleased with the service and would highly recommend. Great value!
The food we were served was amazing, the hors d'oeuvres were delicious as was the dinner. The only 'complaint' we had was it was only luke warm instead of hot when we ate but that was a risk we knew we had to take to save a few dollars we choose to serve buffet style. All in all though, we've had many people ask us who catered and where could they find some of the recipes-pretty darn good feedback if you ask me. Thanks April and all your wonderful staff
I will never ever in my life use this caterer again or recommend them to anyone. They cost over 3x's the amount of my entire building to rent. They charged me for linens of tables they ended up not being able to provide. I almost had to cut my own cake at my reception because the servers were MIA, they set out my sparkling cider for our toast still bundled in plastic and they never served it to my guests I ended up with 20 bottles of my least favorite cider, they didn't even get the kind I wanted. Although the food was good, the service was horrible and WAY overpriced. Huge lack of communication, they never checked up on things, the servers were rude to my guests on top of everything. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Then they had the nerve to call me a week after my wedding and ask if we walked off with one their items....UM NO!!!!!!!
