I brought my late mother’s wedding gown from 1969 to Orange Restoration Lab with very low expectations: it had been sitting in an attic for 40 years, in a box that had been crushed... and slightly open after a move. Upon recently opening it, I found a dress not only discolored by time, but discovered it had been used as a comfy nest for mice. There were stains, droppings and tears in the delicate fabric. I brought the dress in, hoping for the best, but understanding it may never be presentable or functional. When I went to pick it up yesterday, I was f l o o r e d. It was stunningly white, clean and had no trace of its former role as a safe space for the resident critters. The dress, veil and underskirt were equally restored, and they even saved the top of the vintage box it was stored in, at my request. I wish I could give Ernst and his staff more stars.
