Formed in 2006, the Organic String Quartet (OSQ for short) is an elite professional ensemble that have been providing live music for events in Southern California for over 18 years, and during that time have amassed a vast and diverse catalog of songs. OSQ is known for the wide variety of music they perform, and can easily alternate between multiple genres of music: Classical, Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, Soundtrack, and more. Members of the quartet have worked with many high-profile artists such as Adele, Katy Perry, Deadmau5, Alan Parsons, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Frank Ocean, Common, Macy Gray, Queen Nation, Barbara Streisand, Natalie Cole, Streetlight Manifesto, Vitamin String Quartet and others.
OSQ can be heard in season 2 of the Apple TV+ show "The Afterparty", starring Tiffany Haddish, Ken Jeong, and Sam Richardson, and have been seen on various programs including BRAVO TV's "Millionaire Matchmaker", Qualcomm's "Best Bus Stop Ever" viral video series, and KCAL9's "Best Of: Wedding Edition". QSQ was also a finalist in the esteemed California Wedding Day Magazine's Best of 2017 awards program, and has been mentioned in a number of publications including California Wedding Day Magazine, The Knot Magazine, Martha Stewart Weddings, and many more.
In addition, we feel passionately about healing our planet. So each year we donate a portion of our proceeds to American Forests to help plant new trees around the world.

They arrived early, took the time to rehearse with our church organist, and were incredibly warm and professional from the first email to the last note. We asked them to learn “Cornfield Chase” from Interstellar by Hans Zimmer (something completely new to their repertoire), and they performed it with such emotion and precision that it felt like the soundtrack was written just for us. Walking down the aisle to that piece, played live by these amazing musicians, is a memory we’ll treasure forever.
A little behind-the-scenes moment: while the groom and groomsmen were getting ready in the back room, someone’s phone alarm started going off like crazy. The quartet (who could clearly hear it through the walls) immediately started playing the softest, most beautiful filler music to mask the sound so it never reached the guests or disrupted the ceremony. We didn’t even know it happened until later; that kind of awareness and quick thinking speaks volumes about how much they care.
Alicia was an absolute dream to work with; responsive, patient, organized, and genuinely excited for us. She guided us through song selections and made the whole process stress-free.

It was difficult holding back tears when the song of the bride started to play. The string quartet played beautifully. We reached out to QSQ because of their rendition of “Stay by Me” and really wanted to have them play it during the unity segment of the ceremony. We had a concern, about the music playing over the Officiant but Alicia was able to assuage our concerns and lay out options. In the end, we trusted her judgement on how to proceed. The result was a beautiful touch to the ceremony that elevated how we were feeling. Our guests raved about the quartet and how it added a perfect touch. One instruction I had was to play the Game of Thrones song right before the ceremony started because I knew I would be around the area to hear them play it. And it sounded AMAZING. And the songs they played during the ceremony were just the same. This review isn't just from my wife and I. Because we only got to hear a few songs because of the pre-ceremony prep and the photoshoot we took during the cocktail portion. When we greeted our guests during the reception, so many of them mentioned how great they were before we even asked about them. And from what I heard that day, and later from seeing some videos, so many of our guests ended up singing with the quartet. They stuck to the songs that we wanted, and they played beautifully! I have been to several events with quartets, and they were one of the best if not the BEST group I have ever heard! They were the BEST that I have ever heard at a wedding. I wish that we spent more time up on the roof enjoying their music, but we were running around doing photos and other things around the venue for the ceremony.
They also worked with me on timing so that they had adequate shade if umbrellas or portable cover is not available. We looked at a shade study to confirm that they would have the right amount of shade from an adjacent building structure.

s very helpful, friendly, and quick to respond. During the ceremony we stuck with traditional songs such as Trumpet Voluntary, Canon in D, and the Wedding March. For the cocktail hour we went more modern with selections from Game of Thrones, Jurassic Park, Muse, Beyonce, Adele, etc. Unfortunately, due to Santa Monica's noise restrictions we had to move the music inside for cocktail hour and most of our guests wanted to remain outside which is such a shame because they sounded absolutely fantastic. Their pricing was the LOWEST out of the 5 quartets that I received quotes from, which was a huge relief because they happened to be my preference from the beginning. And then the trio we hired totally delivered, even with 1) totally murky instructions from us to play from a general list of picks until we were ready to start the pre-ceremony music; 2) willingness to move around within our venue so that we could flip the space; and 2) ability to seamlessly play for extra time when the power went out(!) during cocktail hour and also then leave promptly when it came back on. There were a ton of songs to pick from, satisfying both my alt- and indie-pop taste as well as my now-husband's proclivity for film scores and timeless instrumentals (not easy!).
