About this vendor
Meet Patricia Johnson
Patricia Johnson’s passion for “all things floral” can be traced back to her time spent in NYC attending The Fashion Institute of Technology. Patricia spent significant time wandering the streets of the Flower Market which was very close to her school
The visual and sensual stimulation served as an inspiration for her work in fashion design, as well as a haven amongst nature when she was missing her hometown in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, where she was born and raised. Patricia continued in the fashion industry for many years working for some of the top Designers in the fashion world. Flowers became a constant source of inspiration, traveling through Europe and Asia fueled her interest in flowers and gardening at home became a personal passion. Arranging and growing flowers for special occasions for family and friends quickly became routine and was very fulfilling creatively. The connection between fashion and flowers began to merge and on a trip to Antigua while attending a Floral Workshop in 2019 the message became clear. Patricia’s connections to the NYC Flower Market has given her knowledge and a place to purchase unique florals and greenery from the best sources in the world.
“House of Flowers” , another staple slogan of our company is an ode to Patricia’s background in the fashion industry. Patricia’s expertise in color, shape and texture is a cornerstone of their business. .

y within budget.
After our first call, I sent Patricia a vision board with what I had in mind– a rustic, fairytale setting with hints of coral. She went above and beyond by having all of the bud vases shipped to her house and offering to reuse flowers from the ceremony at the reception, which helped us save money without sacrificing the look we wanted.
Because our venue was far from her home, Patricia even stayed in a nearby hotel the night before to make sure everything went smoothly. The flowers were exactly what I had envisioned, and we received so many compliments throughout the weekend! I loved telling people they were local, which we appreciated as environmentalists.
I loved the flowers so much I just couldn’t leave them at the venue! We took not just some but ALL the bud vases at the dinner reception on our honeymoon after letting the guests take their fill!
I would absolutely recommend Patricia to any couple looking for personalized florals with a flexible florist.

nt above and beyond to bring that vision to life. She invited me and my family to visit her flower shop where we bonded over our mutual love for vintage decor, and she was kind enough to hold onto the many thrifted candlestick holders I had been collecting to incorporate them (as well as tons of vintage decor from her own collection) into our wedding space. She even tied little ribbons around each candlestick on the day of!! Patricia genuinely made me feel like she cared for me and how our wedding turned out - she acted not only as a florist, but as a confidant, a source of design tips, planning advice and much much more. Patricia's artistic vision is something truly special, and I will cherish her involvement in our wedding for the rest of my life, because I truly could not have done it without her <3

all. I barely had any inspiration photos, and only knew the general color and style I had in mind, and Patricia was able to perfectly describe what I was picturing even though I hadn’t given her much to go off. Communication was also easy, and I always got timely responses. The day of, Patricia and her staff set everything up, and hung around through cocktail hour to move the outdoor pieces to the reception area. magical. Her creativity and artistry made the day feel so special.
I appreciated that she put as much thought into the small things, like my husband's boutonnière, as she did with the more show stopping pieces. I was also grateful for how often Patricia communicated with me. I felt like a collaborator throughout the process. She even met me in the reception space, which was extremely helpful for planning the details. Patricia was able to create everything I thought of. She not only made beautiful centerpieces and bouquets, but also gorgeous installations of florals on the church alter and amazing florals that circled large pillars at the reception venue. I cannot overstate how thrilled I was with what Patricia created, and I would encourage anyone to work with her!

Ornithea was professional in every way - always responsive when I reached out and timely set up on the day of the wedding. felt genuine and focused on our overall vision for our wedding. In the beginning, I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted but after a few questions from Patty about my likes/dislikes, the ideas started flowing! As time grew closer I created a Pinterest board to share with Patty and she then created a vision board based on my preferences. Our time together (either in person or via phone) was never rushed and they were always available to discuss any changes or updates throughout the planning process. Prior to the wedding, Patty and Maggie met us at the venue to see the space and go over certain details of the wedding (e.g. table settings, free standing structures, etc.). Ornithea even had options to rent candles and votives for the tables which was so convenient! Having to purchase and transport these on my own would have been a hassle. On the day of the event, Patty and Maggie arrived very early to set up. All of the florals looked better than I could have imagined. From the whimsical rose covered free standing towers that we stood in between to say “I do”, the hanging vine installation above the center of the dance floor, to the intimate table settings with candle votives, and finally my beautiful bridal bouquet, each piece carefully crafted by Ornithea was breathtakingly gorgeous. I would definitely recommend them for your special event!

Patty took the time to go to the flower market with my mother and me, to see the kind of flowers that I'd like. She knew the name of every single flower and I was so impressed. She let me know which flowers would be in season and had great recommendations.
Patty and Maggie were very understanding too. I explained to them my situation and our budget and they were accommodating with helping us stay on track with it.
Leading up to the wedding, Patty put together a vision board, we talked over the phone multiple times, because she wanted to ensure my vision would come to life, and WOW, it all looked extraordinary. On the day of the wedding, she cut some bleeding hearts from her personal garden and included the stems in my bouquet since she knew the sentimental value they hold to me (they were my grandmother's favorite) both my mom and I were holding our tears in.
I wish I could hug Patty. If you're considering hiring her, please do so. Out of all of our vendors, Ornithea was one of the greatest ones we had. I'd recommend them always.

Patty is very creative and did a beautiful job for our lovely intimate ceremony! Sophisticated & modern arrangements, we were very pleased.
