We wish we could give them more stars! We had our wedding at Osteria this May and it was absolutely stunning. We opted to do the gelato bar as well as late night burgers, fries and pizzas. All of it was amazing. Our guests were absolutely raving about how delicious the food was, how cozy the atmosphere was and how much they loved every minute of the wedding! I had multiple guests say they want to have their wedding at Osteria after attending ours because they were so impressed. We worked with Natalie the majority of the time as well as Katherine. The whole events team is incredibly responsive; we could always expect an email back within hours from them, sometimes even late at night! Our wedding was planned and put on within only a few months and their whole team helped us with every detail and made sure we pulled it off in time. I must've called them a dozen times and definitely emailed over 50 times. They always responded, always asked if I had more questions and always had a solution for what I wanted to do. My mom and I dropped off boxes and boxes of thing to set up in the restaurant on the tables and all throughout the space the morning of the wedding. Katherine and their team set it all up for us perfectly, just working off of a picture I sent them of what we wanted. The service was impeccable leading up to, during, and after the wedding, I didn't have to worry about anything and I was treated like a princess as the bride, with all the waitstaff checking in regularly to see if there was anything I needed or wanted throughout the whole night. On top of all of that, their pricing is incredibly reasonable, especially given the fact that they are in downtown Chicago and their meals are super high quality (like short rib that literally melts in your mouth kind of food). I wish we could do the whole night again because it was so perfect. I would 1000% recommend Osteria for any wedding or event. It was everything we dreamed of. Thank you, Osteria team!!

So happy we booked Osteria via Stato for our wedding reception! The planning process with Natalie and team was an incredible experience. They answered all of our questions (both big and small) and made us feel so special during the tasting and the final walkthrough. They easily accommodated every request we had to help make the night uniquely ours. The Lettuce Entertain You service is unmatched and an incredible value for the city! The night of the wedding felt like a dreamy night in the Italian countryside and the food (both the taste and portions) is something that our guests continue to rave about. Excited that we'll be able to come back to celebrate our anniversary for years to come!

Probably the best decision we made was to have our wedding at Osteria. The space is absolutely beautiful, the food is beyond amazing, and the staff there is so professional and kind. Natalie was a dream to work with! She made sure to answer all of our questions and worked hard to make sure everything went smoothly the days leading up to the wedding and on the actual day as well. Highly recommend!

To say we are disappointed to write this review is an understatement. We absolutely fell in love with the space and were excited to book. After we signed the contract, things went downhill. I won’t go into all the details, but communication was very poor. The worst part was the arrogant attitude from Natalie and Allison. When issues arose, it was evident that neither really cared about our wedding beyond the booking/money. They acted like they were doing us a favor not like we were valued customers/clients. Allison, the manager/partner, arranged two calls with us to discuss the issues and ghosted both times. When she finally did call, she said she was busy opening a new restaurant. It was completely disrespectful and unprofessional. We are busy as well and if you set up a time to call and can’t make it, at least have the courtesy to email or something to let me know. On the call, she then proceeded to not honor the minimum that Natalie had quoted us but actually increased it! Despite admitting that they made a mistake and we were going to have to pick a new date due to their mistake. It was really unbelievable and felt like they wanted us to cancel. I don’t think it is a coincidence that there is a restaurant convention in town the same weekend we had booked. They offered a 100% refund of our deposit very readily even though we were beyond the refund date. Also, there is only one unisex bathroom inside the restaurant. Guests need to go into the attached hotel for other facilities. Just something to be aware of. If you decide to consider them, ask very specific questions about the spaces, what is included, what the minimums are etc. because as I said, communication was very lacking. They certainly do not assist or offer helpful information that you might want to consider during the booking process so do your homework. Or better yet, just go somewhere else.

We hosted 70ish guests for our rehearsal dinner at Osteria via Stato in May 2023. It was the smoothest experience. Highly recommend for big events. They did a fantastic job making sure everyone was taken care of and happy. They were also accommodating with requested menu changes.

We are so thankful that we had our wedding reception at Osteria Via Stato! It was beyond our expectations! Our coordinator was Natalie, who was so kind, organized, and had great communication throughout the entire wedding planning process. From the beginning, she answered all of my many questions, provided great tips, and really brought our vision to life on the day of the wedding! We were blown away when we saw the reception space! Our guests are still commenting on how beautiful the space was, how kind the staff was, and how amazing the food was! Can’t recommend Osteria Via Stato enough.

I had my 8/13/22 wedding ceremony & reception for 175 guests at Osteria Via Stato and it was truly the day of my dreams. When searching for venues, I steered clear of the traditional "blank slate" ballroom, to find an intimate space with character. From our first meeting with Allison, not only was the value obvious to us, but the quality of the product and service were clear. We love Lettuce Entertain You and always love everyone who works at their restaurants, we knew that that level of service for a wedding could not be beat. We were right 100000%! Allison is incredibly responsive, allows you to cater and personalize every last detail, collaborates incredibly with a vendor team, and made our day perfect. At times I was unsure how this less traditional venue would transfer to a large wedding, but it was BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS!- BEAUTIFUL, DELICIOUS, AMAZING SERVICE, INCREDIBLE AMBIANCE! Allison also recommended vendors who became a part of our vendor team and were also part of the reason that our day was so above and beyond. The food was out of this world the greatest food anyone has ever had at a wedding--for an amazing value at that! The Bar blew me away!! No one had an empty drink at any time, they made every different cocktail and drink under the sun! People wanted espresso martinis? aperol spritz? tequila old fashioned? You name it, they made it! The ceremony was lovely and intimate and I was in awe of how the space worked and allowed for an awesome flow from ceremony to cocktails to dinner to reception. The outdoor patio, weather permitting, was also an amazing plus!

I really don’t know where to begin and I can’t recommend them enough. We had our wedding this past August 21st, and it was beyond what we were dreaming for. From the beginning we were looking for a small, warm, boho/rustic venue for our very intimate wedding, so the minute my now husband and I visited the venue we knew this was the right place. We had the opportunity to do the wedding venue planning with Allison who was amazing and very patient with our questions and concerns which made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. For the day of the wedding, Natalie was our coordinator and she was incredible and helped us with every single detail. The entire staff at OVS was so friendly and kind so we can’t thank them enough. The food is out of this world and all our guests were shocked with how good it was. We definitely had our dream wedding thanks to Osteria Via Stato and we hope many couples can read this and have theirs as well!

We got married at Osteria Via Stato and it was an amazing experience. We were originally supposed to get married in January 2021, but had to postpone because of Covid. They were great about helping us figure out what to do, and allowed us to postpone no problem. Unfortunately, when our 2022 date happened to fall during the peak of Chicago's Omicron surge, they weren't quite as accommodating and we were forced to move forward this time. It was frustrating but I'm still giving them 5 stars because I understand that most wedding venues were responding this way and because they were incredibly helpful as things started to get really crazy in the weeks before the event. Because of Omicron, we had a ton of late cancellations and they worked with us to reduce our food and beverage minimum as well as find creative ways to spend it. I sent Allison, the onsite wedding planner, a really terrible amount of emails with changes and updates and she never seemed irritated or thrown off, just super helpful and kind. The day of the event was so smooth. I didn't feel like I had to worry about anything because we were in such good hands and multiple guests commented on how the flow was absolutely perfect. That was all Allison and her staff. The food was also absolutely amazing (as we knew it would be) and several friends said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. We can't wait to go back for dinner sometime soon so we can relive the fun day and try more of the menu!

Absolutely amazed and happy with the staff service food and drinks. My daughter celebrated her wedding (The Matson'srecently and they worked closely with the details. A job well done. A special thank you to Allison the wedding coordinator as she had the ability of matching our vision to perfection!! Very pleased ! Very happy!

We couldn't be happier with having made the choice to have our wedding at Osteria Via Stato! Allison and the team took such good care of us, especially after having had to postpone our wedding reception. Allison took care of everything we could have needed and made it an absolute pleasure to plan our wedding. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at Osteria Via Stato and it was perfect in every way. Our friends and family haven't stopped saying how delicious the food was, how magnificent the servers are and that it was truly beautiful! We are eternally grateful for their help in creating our perfect day!

Osteria Via Stato was the perfect place for our rehearsal dinner. Allison was so helpful in planning our dinner, and was happy to walk us through all the available options to make sure we had a space perfect for our group. She was also great in communicating updates and changes in regard to COVID, which was greatly appreciated. Beyond Allison's planning prowess, the staff at Osteria Via Stato were simply incredible. Wine glasses were never empty and the food was beyond amazing. Every guest left happy and full, and we certainly won't hesitate to host a group at Osteria Via Stato again.

Osteria Via Stato was the perfect choice for our brunch wedding! We are very thankful they were able to work with us during COVID to reschedule and then help us navigate the restrictions in place in Chicago at the time. Allison was our coordinator and she was so helpful, friendly, and responsive. The day of she was amazing at organizing everything and setting everything up! While we didn't have a chance to do a food tasting beforehand due to COVID, the food that day was amazing! All our guests loved the french toast and salad on the brunch menu and the drinks were perfect! The wait staff was very efficient and attentive and went above and beyond. The venue itself is BEAUTIFUL and required very little decor to make it feel magical - we did bud vases and a floral garland on the archway and it was perfect. We are very happy with our special day at Osteria Via Stato!

Thanks to Osteria, we now have bragging rights to the best wedding of decade. We hosted our entire event there (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all back to back) and our guests loved not having to deal with the hassle of traveling in the Chicago cold. Allison and her team transformed the space into my perfect romantic Italian dream. It goes without saying the food was OUTSTANDING. Our guests were blown away. Most wedding venues you can't visit again, but with Osteria we love that we can pop in for dinner any time and relive the best day of our lives!

I can't say enough good things about Osteria Via Stato and Allison, our day of coordinator. From other reviews you can tell they have amazing food, and it really is that amazing. But what I really want to point out is the employees/service. It must be an wonderful place to work since they all were so dedicated to our guests, so proactive with needs, accommodating to gluten-free guests, and never let a glass go empty haha. From dropping off our decorations the day before to picking it up the day after, we loved working with every employee we came in contact with. Osteria will plan a wedding for you unlike anyone else's, without any issues or problems, and provide suggestions/assistance to help your day go smoothly and be exactly how you imagined. We were even able to have our dog in the ceremony as our ring bearer, something other venues were unable to allow, whereas Allison worked with us to make it happen. Their ceremony space is so unique and intimate, we loved getting married there. I had DIY silk flower bouquets and minimal decorations. Because the setting is so beautiful we didn't feel like it was missing stuff hanging from the ceilings/walls. You will be so so happy you picked Osteria to host your wedding - it's truly a unique and beautiful place with fantastic employees and all around service!

Our wedding was at an off-site venue, and we did the rentals, catering, and bar through OVS. Everything was incredible! Everyone we worked with was kind and professional. They made all the preparation easy, because they had everything so under control! The day-of, we got rave reviews about the food. Particularly, our guests loved their signature roasted garlic and ciabatta bread and the ricotta cheesecake. We loved OVS before for dining out, but now it's one of our most cherished places in the city because how much they contributed to our big day!

The most helpful event staff in the world! They were perfect and willing to work with us on any specific requests we had. Met with us at last second for any tasting or visit requests we had. Tastings were over generous and staff was amazingly attentive. Made our vision come to life

Osteria was the perfect venue for my small and intimate December wedding. I fell in love with the ambiance and it did not disappoint on the big day. Allison and Jeannie were wonderful to work with, and the wait staff was outstanding as well (Mike and Markus are stand outs!) The biggest takeaway must be the food. Just excellent. I had several guests tell me it was the best wedding food they had ever had. A couple guests told me the filet was the best they had ever had. I lost track of all the compliments. I can't wait to go back for dinner. Thank you, Osteria, for helping give me my dream wedding night.

Absolutely love this place! We had our non-traditional rehearsal dinner here. Osteria helped us in planning and perfectly executed an 80+ person party. We had an open bar with 10+ beers/various wine/mixed cocktails, a selection of antipasti, passed hor d' oeuvres, and passed desert. They also accommodated our guests with food allergies without hesitation. It was a perfect way to kick-off our wedding weekend! We will be back for dinner soon!

I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Osteria Via Stato in June 2017. The entire process of planning our wedding was so easy thanks to Michelle and her team. She was incredibly responsive, accommodating, and did everything she could to meet our requests. We have received so many compliments from our guests regarding the location, food, service, and ambiance of our wedding. We've even heard people tell us it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Osteria Via Stato is not your typical wedding venue, but that is why our guests loved it so much. It brings all the traditional components of a wedding to a unique, beautiful space with excellent food. I highly recommend it!

When we first started looking for reception venues, my (now) husband and I knew that we wanted our guests to 1) have amazing food that they would remember and 2) have a great experience, especially since many of them were from out of town. We also needed to work within a reasonable budget. Needless to say, having our reception at Osteria gave us all three! The entire planning process from start to finish was easy thanks to Michelle. She was willing to work with us every step of the way, even when it came to negotiating our family's picky wine selection and when we had some last minute changes. Our guests had a great time, and many of them complimented the food--since this is an amazing restaurant as is, it isn't your typical wedding food! We were able to have options for all of our guests, without any issues at all--including vegetarian and gluten free. This was also a great venue for the size of our wedding (~120 guests), as it offered an intimate and elegant setting. We received many compliments on the set up of the dining area and dance floor, as well as the bar and dessert area set-up! The credit all goes to Osteria, for sure. If I could go back in time and get married again, I'd chose Osteria Via Stato 100%.

Our daughter's wedding on March 20, 2016 at Osteria Via Stato was simply amazing! Guests continued to applaud the food, decor and professionalism of the staff for months after the event. Specifically, Allison and Michelle did a fabulous job of coordinating the event. From our point of view, the wedding and reception of over 200 guests was seamless. My husband and I give this beautiful venue our highest recommendation!

If you are looking for a downtown wedding venue with excellent food, ambience, and service, STOP LOOKING. SERIOUSLY, THIS IT IT. Our experience with Osteria Via Stato was wonderful, start to finish. The Events Team here is phenomenal. Allison and Michelle answer emails within hours and are so nice and helpful. I felt so confident throughout our experience that they would deliver a flawless event and that is absolutely what happened. We had our ceremony and reception here on July 1, 2016. One of the best parts about this place is that your guests get to choose their entree from a menu you select. This is so much classier that the pre-determined entree choice and really cuts down on the stress of creating your placecards and seating chart. I heard from many of our guests that we had the best food they had ever eaten at a wedding. I recommend Osteria Via Stato without hesitation. My only regret is that our wedding is over- I wish we could do it again! We will be lifelong customers of this place. Thank you Michelle and Allison!

We had our 8/22/15 wedding at Osteria Stato. Everything about the restaurant, the service and the ambiance was EXCELLENT. We worked with Allison and Michelle, both were great and answered all of my silly questions. We are so happy we went with a restaurant for the wedding because it really cut out a lot of extra work we would've done coordinating with multiple vendors. The only thing brought from outside was the florist and a few of our own DIY items (which they graciously set up for us). All of our family and friends loved the intimate feel of the venue. We had the cocktail hour on the patio, pizzeria/bar area and then rented out the restaurant for dinner and dancing. The two front rooms (separated only by arches) were dining areas and the back area was the dance floor. The food was amazing and there was never an empty glass. We had pizzas as the late night snack which was also a hit. You can't go wrong with OVS - such a great value, especially in downtown Chicago!

We were in need of a venue for our wedding that was intimate, had character, had really good food and fit within a certain budget. We also wanted something downtown that would allow our numerous out of town guests easy access to our venue and the sights and shopping. I spent some time searching and was lucky to find Osteria Via Stato which had all that in spades and more! With what was included in their packages and coordinating things with Allison and Michelle, planning and the event itself came together easily and ran smoothly. They were able to take care of every detail or special need we brought to them, not that there were many. Everyone there were consummate professionals with delightful personalities. And the food received so many raving compliments. Everything was cooked to perfection and we all loved the combination of family style appetizer courses with individual entrees. All in all it made for a fabulous and memorable wedding!

Not only was the staff accommodating, kind and helpful, the food was terrific! My mother in law had a budget and Allison was able to work with her to put together a full plated dinner that left everyone stuffed and happy. The atmosphere in the private front room was everything my husband and I had wanted. We all had such a great experience and such delicious food that our Matron of Honor and Best Man drove from the suburbs just to have dinner there for one of their date nights! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We wanted to have ours at a Lettuce Entertain You place since we our rewards memebers and the service is just amazing. The private was space was awesome. I love how its in the front and not shoved in the back corner somewhere. Food fantastic as always and service was outstanding as well! Could not have been better.

Osteria Via Stato and their Executive Chef never cease to amaze! We had our rehearsal dinner here and people could hardly stop talking about it. Toast after toast was raised by the guests to thank us for inviting them there and providing such a wonderful meal and experience. At one point the Chef came into the room to check on the party and was greeted by our guests with a standing ovation! The venue is just beautiful. It has a warm, rustic design that is so nice, it needs no decoration. The staff is knowledgable, friendly, and very accomodating. The food is unparalleled! Go to Osteria Via Stato and your guests will thank you!

We decided to have our wedding at Osteria because atmosphere reminded me of a wine cellar. It a beautiful dining area! We didn't even try the food before we booked as the setting was just perfect. Over the numerous months prior to the wedding, I had a number of questions but Allison was prompt to respond and she also directed us to our florist who was wonderful! Finally as the wedding approached, we went in for our tasting. My fiance and I were pleasantly surprised... the food was amazing. And we were also able to do a tasting to choose our wines. We were set!! Once I sent in my final numbers, Allison said we were under the required spend so we needed to upgrade some of our food choice. Sweet! We decided on the Scallops, Filet in Gorgonzola, Penne with Ckn and Braised Beef. In addition, we upgraded our wine package to the top of the line. Since it was only a few days before the wedding, we left the wine picking to Allison as she said she'd choose based on our original wine picks. Allison also had some great ideas on the passed appetizers and other side dishes. The day of the wedding, I went down to see how things were coming along. Allison was on top of everything. I was so happy and relieved!! After our church ceremony, we arrived to the reception. Before I even entered, a guest came out to great us and said 'Wow, wait until you see the inside!'. He was right, the place looked romantic and beautiful. The passed appetizers were amazing and the wines Allison chose were amazing. Then we sat for dinner and I couldn't have been more impressed with the food. But the service itself was even more impressive. At times, I'd be off talking to a guest or dancing and our table's waitress would come find me and ask if I'd like more wine or anything else. She was wonderful! We had so many complements about the food and service. The entire night was lovely. The funniest thing was the next day, when I went to pick up my saved cake at Osteria, I found two of our wedding guests eating lunch! They ordered the same dishes we had the night before and couldn't stop raving about the veal meatballs and penne!

From the minute we walked into Osteria Via Stato, we knew we found "THE Place." Throughout the planning stages their coordinator and staff were so patient and happy. The day of service was exquisite. The food was to die for, the space was just as we had planned. They are truly amazing at what they do and will put on the wedding and/or reception of your dreams.

We had a private space for our rehersal dinner which was great so that we were not disturbing anyone else. The staff was incredible and didn't do anything without checking with us first. Everyone raved about the food and the staff never let a drink go dry.

Great food and beautiful restaurant. One person said, "That was the best chicken that I've ever tasted in my life." We got many compliments on the service and the food. It was also a great deal because we paid for the alcohol by consumption which basically cut the cost per head in half.
